Courtyard

I have mixed feelings about this place. First impressions - It looks like a former apartment complex located on a busy noisy street next to a dilapidated apartment building (which I think is probably being converted to another hotel, or remodeled into a new apartment building) so I wasn't quite sure about this place as the area looks sketch. Parking lot is well worn and could use fresh asphalt. But it's cute once you go inside. The man working at the front desk was very nice and welcoming. The lobby is quite small, but comfortable. They have a fresh fruit bowl and sell snacks and beverages, and this is where they host their wine and cheese reception in the afternoon (also cookies and lemonade!). They also have a continental breakfast here, and it's ok. They had egg bites, coffee/tea station, yogurt parfaits, cereal, oatmeal, and pastries. Egg bites weren't good, but the pastries were great. There are only a couple tables inside to eat at, but more tables are available in the outdoor patio outside of the lobby. It was nice to see that they have proper plates, mugs, and utensils to use at breakfast, but we got there kind of later in the morning so they ran out of real plates so we had to use paper plates. As for the room, like the lobby, it was nice, but tight for our family of 4. It looked recently remodeled. There's a small closet for hanging our jackets, and one luggage rack inside. Since there were no drawers to store our packing cubes, our second luggage/clothes had to go on the floor. We were gifted a bottle of champagne in the room which was nice! We had a decent sized kitchen, but we didn't use it except the fridge and the counter to store our snacks and water. Beds were comfy, but because the rooms were so tight, and my bed was positioned so close to the A/C, I couldn't walk through and actually had to crawl into my side of the bed from the foot of the bed. Mind you, I'm not a big person and I'm pretty mobile, so I can't imagine how someone bigger and less mobile than me will get into bed. On the other side of the room is a round table with 2 chairs and a sliding glass door that opens up to the pretty courtyard, and to the pool down the way. If you want to rent bikes or movies, you can go to their partner hotel across the parking lot and use theirs. I think the other hotel has a fitness center too that you can probably access. It's a few blocks to get to the beach/pier, but since I like to walk I didn't mind it. It took me about 10 minutes to walk to State St. from the Inn. I appreciate the little touches that this Inn provided, and the staff were all excellent. I just wish the rooms were more spacious. It would be fine for a party of 2.

Booked hotel stay through Santa Barbara Tourism Board promotion. Arrived and they had no record of us or our reservation. I had a print out with dates /confirmation / rates so Sam, nice man working front desk, was able to accommodate us. We were placed on the second floor away from the busy road and the construction associated with resurfacing the hotel's parking lot. It was quiet but room needed airing out from heavy fragrance of a plug in room freshener. Breakfast was provided in lobby area and was good albeit very basic. Only problem we had were the ants that invaded our room and crawled everywhere including the bed! The room was serviced each day and fresh towels / toiletries provided so kudos to housekeeping.

Our luggages got wet because the leaky ceiling. This place is below motel quality

LEAKY CEILING! NO PARKING. MOTEL QUALITY. They have very limited parking. If they have a full house, you can forget about parking here. They sent us to three blocks away to park at 'their sister property. What a joke? False advertising since they do promote free parking. Stay away. This Nola r is below motel quality. Our room has a leaky ceiling, see photos posted. There are other much properties here in the neighborhood. Absolutely one of the worse!

Garden view! All rooms have a balcony overlooking it.

We enjoyed our stay here!! The hotel room had everything we needed and it's just a few blocks (about 10 minutes) from the ocean. Pros- - the front desk staff was very friendly. - There were snacks candy and drinks priced very cheaply in the lobby - Free breakfast in the morning (although it isn't much- cereal, boiled eggs, pastries) - Happy hour in the afternoon (3 wine options, water, lemonade, cookies and cheese cubes) - The garden is very pretty to walk through and all rooms have a balcony overlooking it. - There is a pool and hot tub - There are bikes available to use - They have a parking lot with free parking Cons- - The rooms seemed a bit outdated. The shower head was so low, we had to duck - I wish it was closer to the beach and restaurants, but it wasn't a horrible walk

I haven't given a 5 to an inn/hotel ever, but this place deserves it. I have stayed at the Hyatt and Ramada Inn in SB and the Holiday Inn on Carpinteria and honestly this inn beats them all by a long shot. I booked a 2 queen room 4 months in advance through Hotels.com. I had no issues with the reservation at check-in. Total price for us was $729 for 2 nights. Check-in was great. The staff was friendly, professional and even great to give us a map of Santa Barbara with recommendations go things to do around the area. Room was clean and pretty good sized. I was happy to see we got a full kitchen and a complimentary bottle of champagne (they will swap it out for sparkling cider should you want to instead). We also got white robes in the closet if we wanted to use them. They provide body wash/shampoo products by Bath & Bodywork's. We didn't have a view of the courtyard but it wasn't a big deal since my sister insisted on having the curtains drawn closed at all times. Haha! It's a lovely old style Spanish design building with Spanish tiling on the stairs, wall decor and pavement. We were on the far end of the hotel with a baseball field directly behind us. This place was sooo quiet! We never heard anything through the walls, no noise from the pool area and no pounding of footsteps walking by our door or up the stairs. We loved the cute courtyard with beautiful greenery and flowers. They have a wine and cheese hour from 4:30-6:30pm everyday. We took advantage of it our first night at the hotel. They also offer milk and cookies but I never caught what time it was and so we never went. The continental breakfast was a step up from similar hotels. They had mini veggie quiches, cold cereals, mini parfait cups, fresh pastries (not individually wrapped ones), bagels, bread for toast, hard boiled eggs individually wrapped, milk, juice, several hot coffees to choose from and tea available. I highly recommend this place and I would come back.

Nice little spot close to the beach. Nothing fancy, but has a lot of personality. Great spot to relax and swim. Free champagne and happy hour treats. Also had a pool and kitchen. Throw off your shoes and relax.

We absolutely LOVED this hotel. It's a fantastic, darling, beautiful little boutique place, offering great quality for the price point. The happy hour and breakfast, while standard, are nice benefits and I love that they're included. The hotel rooms are fantastically clean, the beds are sooooooo comfortable. The hotel is very quiet, just slightly removed from the main drag. We had our toddler with us and while she's very well behaved, we almost felt a bit guilty because it was so quiet... but there were other kids there as well, the only time we heard them was in the pool. It seems to draw a slightly older crowd, but our little family did not feel unwelcome or uncomfortable in any way. The best part of the rooms is the kitchenette - we didn't use it a ton, but it was a great place to tuck away our toddler inflate-a-bed to get a bit of privacy. The kitchenette was stocked with what we needed when we did cook. The grounds are beautiful and well kept. The place felt inviting. We loved it.

Location : Very convenient and walkable to a lot of restaurants.Which we love. Parking : If you stay on the queen suite side there are limited spaces but they do have permit for you to park on Bath St. as well but if you stay the other side of the property which is King suites. Those rooms came with 1 parking space per room. Rooms : First time we got room No.7 which was a queen suite.Man oh man that bed was one of the most comfortable we have ever slept on in a hotel rooms. The room came with full stove and kitchen utensils,Coffee maker and ground coffee. If you decide to cook yourself some food they pretty much have everything you need. The second time we stayed on the king suite side at room 118A. Staffs : Every single one of them were nice and friendly.Check in and check out process went very smooth. They offer you a free snacks in the office as well. They have a garage that opens around 8 or 9 AM (they don't open it too early because the garage door is loud for guests) and has free stuff for you to use including beach cruiser bikes, beach lounge chairs, towels, beach toys, umbrellas, and more. The lobby has snacks (granola bars, bananas, orange, etc) that were accessible during their hours (they close at 9) as well as a water machine from which you can fill your aluminum water bottles from your hotel room. I liked how they didn't use plastic trash bags, no plastic bottles, and no plastic soap containers. It seemed that they were really eco-friendly. We interacted with 3 hotel staff members and all were helpful and friendly. They gave us a list of kid-centric things to do. We stayed in unit 8 which had a queen bed and a living room as well as a kitchenette. The kitchen had everything we needed and the tools were clean, new and orderly. The unit was clean as well. The palm trees in the middle of the parking lot are nicely lit at nice. The water pressure in the bathroom was super strong. I liked that the bathroom had a window as well as the kitchen. Some rooms have a small patio door in the back. From our kitchen window we could see plants and flowers. Outside of our room there were cute tables with lots of flowers as well. It's a great location and walking distance to the beach. The bad: We accidentally went a few blocks down from here to Harbor View Inn first and then realized our mistake. Two different hotels! The bathroom is on the small side. The interesting: The parking lot is small so they don't allow big trucks/vans. If you check-out before 7:30 am (like we did) then you will leave your keys in the mailbox out front by their office.

Kimpton hotels are very pet friendly and that always gets extra stars from me. They don't charge any pet fee or have size restrictions and if you ask them, they will provide food and water bowls for your stay. As someone who always travels with her dog, that adds a lot of value for me. This location even told me that, while I couldn't bring the dog to the restaurant on site, I could bring her to the nightly wine reception. I did not ever end up attending one but it's the thought that counts. The location was great. It was about a 15-minute walk to beach and we did walk to Stearns Wharf multiple times during our stay. It typically took us about 10 minutes to walk to one of the many restaurants in the area that we had decided to go to each time. There are lots of coffee shops, wine bars and places to eat within walking distance so we ended up leaving our car parked for most of our stay. I believe the valet parking was an additional $50 or $60 a night but you do get in and out privileges. We just found that we didn't need the car much to get around on our visit and in the time it takes to have somebody pull it out for you, you could have already walked halfway to your destination. The amenities are nice. They have a rooftop pool, fitness center and then their complimentary coffee, etc. I did not end up taking advantage of any of those because I travel with my dog, so I can't speak directly to the quality of any of them, but I know most people appreciate having extras like that. Our room was cute and comfortable and felt very cozy. It was honestly probably smaller than I expected for the price point, but it had everything that we needed and I was happy with my stay. We used a credit card that offers "free upgrade" but you never know what that will mean. @ the Kimpton Canary it meant an extremely nice room. Large sitting area, with Nespresso coffee maker, refrigerator and large tv. The king size bed was in a room by itself overlooking the courtyard with fountain. The bed and linens were very comfortable. The bathroom has a separate shower, tub and toilet areas. Bath salts included. Robes and slippers in the closet. Amenities like AM coffee in the lobby or afternoon wine hour are nice to enjoy. The music is jazzy cozy heartfelt inviting. The decor is very chic, modern but not pretentious. Spanish tiles and colorful furniture. Service is a standout. A note in the bathroom said ask for what you need. So i tested it, asking for a lip balm by text and it was sent to the room. I also asked, Ingrid for a bottle of bubbly to be sent up with a birthday card to surprise my wife. It was delivered and made a grateful impression. A couple cookies and another note as well. Perfect anniversary stay -- peaceful, friendly, and right on the beach…read more We stayed at Santa Barbara Inn for our 25th anniversary and paid for the beachside view. It was absolutely worth it. The staff was genuinely friendly and helpful, and what really stood out was their text-based concierge system. They text you before arrival, and you can ask for anything during your stay -- they respond quickly and clearly. Honestly, that alone made the stay feel effortless. They even had the car ready before we got downstairs. It felt like having a pocket concierge. The view was fantastic, noise levels were low, and the beach is literally across the street, right at a crosswalk. We spent a lot of time on the balcony -- the room was large, the patio was generously sized, and we loved reading out there with the sounds of birds and seals in the background. Beds were very comfortable, the bathroom had great water pressure, and the jetted tub was basically a sauna -- a huge plus after walking all day. Free water bottles in the room were also appreciated. We ate at Convivo onsite -- it was fine, solid food, but a bit pedestrian flavor-wise. That said, there are so many excellent places to eat in Santa Barbara, and we walked to several without any trouble. Very walkable area for both beach time and dining. For car lovers: there's constant classic car and hot rod cruising along the beach, which was fun to watch from the balcony. It's not cheap, but it's reasonable for the location, room size, and level of service. Pros: 1) Across the street from the beach…read more 2) Great views 3) This Hilton Hotel has a Spanish look to it, much like Santa Barbara. Cons: We went for a wedding. But only stayed one night for the wedding. The other nights that we stayed were at another hotel in Santa Barbara. This Hilton hotel I'm giving one star more than the other because it is a Hilton. 1) Completely out dated. It looks like it's something out of the 90s. They can at least buy new furniture. The carpets smell. Everything smells very musty and old. The front desk when you check in is very small. We actually walked right by it because we didn't even see it. It was that small. For such a big hotel you would think that they would have a bigger front desk for their guest to check in and out of. For this to be a Hilton, they need to spend more money on renovation. 2) We could only stay one night because of how expensive it was. We were expecting a lot more for the price. When we entered the room, the linens smelled, and again the carpet smelled very musty. We called the front desk. It took them forever to answer the phone and when they did, they had an attitude about changing the linens. It took two hours for them to come to our room to change out the linens thank God they did because the second set of linens did not smell. 3) The staff all over the hotel were completely rude and aggressive. It didn't matter what department they were in. If this was a rundown Motel 6, then that would be one thing, but it was a Hilton in Santa Barbara facing the ocean. 4) When it came time for the wedding it felt great. It felt organized. I'm not sure if that was the Hilton staff or not. but I know that the catering was the Hilton and that was not organized and that staff was horrible and aggressive. For instance, taking your food while you're still eating. And giving you attitude if you say that you're still eating your dinner. 5) When it came time to use the downstairs restroom my wife stated that the downstairs restroom was filthy, and there was paper towels all over the ground. 6) Which brings me to my next point, this Hilton Hotel felt very understaffed. I could keep going, but the point is that my wife and I do love the Hilton family hotels, but this place is not the best Hilton out there. We will not be back.
