This used to be my go-to in Seaside, (and another hotel in Lincoln City), but not anymore. I have stayed here countless times without issue until my last stay in October 2025. I have always used the same card to reserve my room, and for some reason the desk employee decided it was a good idea to run my card through again and again for a total of SIX times, only to have my bank tag it for fraud. This resulted in me having to call my bank several times, who eventually called Visa, both saying there wasn't a problem with my card or credit limit. The entire time the employee kept stating how he has been doing this for 30 years so it couldn't have been his fault. Not only would he not take responsibility for his recklessness, but he implied this was my fault somehow. This took hours to resolve, back and forth between the bank and the hotel, and I finally, reluctantly, used a different card. It's unnerving to have your credit card tagged for fraud because a desk clerk screwed up. I emailed Frank Hotels after this happened with no reply. Apparently, they don't care if they have an unhappy customer and a rude employee. Normally when there is something brought to management's attention you get a response, not so with this company. Hopefully others will not have the same problem, and as a side note, there are other Frank Hotels along the coast ... so beware. read more

We stayed in room 104 ground level. There is no elevator and rooms are accessed from the outside of the building. It has 2 bedrooms and 1.5 bathrooms. 1 bedroom is connected to full bathroom which has another 1/2 bath connected to that bathroom with door out to main area. The floors are hard wood or laminate. I like that better than carpet. Property is at the end of the Promenade with a walkway out to ocean. It is an easy walk and takes about 10 minutes to be on the beach. The bathroom fan did not work well and was really noisy :O in full bathroom and the 1/2 bath doesn't have a fan or window. There isn't any vent or air conditioning in the place, but they provided box fans for the bedrooms. the bedroom has patio doors and so does living room area. I give it 4 instead of 5 because the noise of the people above us with kids and dogs that were really noisy and the bathroom fan issue. I love the location. read more

I agree with the other yelpers some updating needs to be done like a good spot and carpet cleaning or get new carpeting that doesn't show every stain. That being said, I am still giving Inn at the Shore a five star because we didn't get to plan this one night stay .. it was on a whim we were just passing through. So glad the one room they have left is a second floor ocean view suite with two bedroom, 2 bath, kitchenette, a dining area, living room, fireplace, patio, two large flatscreens with full cable, wifi, room service all for $128! This is a two star place and for the super duper cheap price I am not expecting perfection as long as there's no weird smells. The sheets and bedding were very clean and spotless. They were generous with their towels and amenities and there's a doorknob card to ask for extra amenities if needed. The bed was super comfortable too and there's easy plug in outlets. Check in by Katie on phone and counter was smooth and seamless. Online will say no availability on travel sites. Always call the place! Will definitely stay here again. Perfect for families on a budget not expecting five star quality with an ocean view. Easy access to the promenade!! Easy access to a grocery market, Hwy 101, the osprey cafe and even little food stand that serves either wood fired pizza or brick oven pizza? I used to love this place the shine it used to have has tarnished a bit. The room was clean but carpet coming up in the kitchen area presents hazard. The furniture was uncomfortable also. The sleep sofa sagged on the right so you sink when you sit. The other seating was wicker chairs with cushions that were flat and ready to be thrown away. The dining table surface was clean but the edges where the table edge was routed had old crust gooey gunk in it. Other than that the place is quiet and pet friendly and the beds are acceptably comfortable. Linens fresh and clean. Not sure if I'd go back. read more

There's no shortage of places to plop your head on a pillow when adventuring up the Oregon Coast. Seaside isn't the sexiest tourist city, but I like the speed of the town, just up the coast from the boom of more polished hospitality. When in Seaside, you definitely have lots of choices, from hotel to bed & breakfast, and there are lots of places right on the main strip. There are a few hotels here on the very end of town, and the Inn at the Shore fills a specific niche of what you want when you travel: location, affordability, and amenities. As location goes, yes, you're away from the main drag with all the businesses. This is a plus, actually, in my book. But I'm not the kind who needs to be withing stumbling distance of my hotel. And there are some places to grab a bite right nearby, that really are top notch. So I don't need souvenir shops out the front door to be happy, to be sure. It's right on the promenade, and just about the closest you can get to the water, though a small trek over sand to get to the beach. We had an ocean view room and it was really stunning at night from the second floor. Parking was never an issue, though you'll compete with the public for street parking as it accesses this southern part of Seaside's waterfront. Things are a little dated, it's not exactly luxury, and though everything was satisfactory, I think the affordability factor comes into play with those tradeoffs. I don't think I'd describe anything here as trendy--the tub and shower, the rooms, the beds--but I would happily call it affordable. Finally, the amenities. Full fridge, cooktop, three beds and a sofa sleeper, two bathrooms; it's more like a small apartment (YMMV, there are different size rooms) and those conveniences were really wonderful to have. It was unseasonably warm during my trip and no A/C was a bit tough during the day, but by night we had fans and sea breeze and I slept like a baby. If you're in your room all day long with that beach and those hikes and those towns nearby, maybe you're doing it wrong? It's your trip, so you do you--but for me, it was a great home base and fun to hang at night, but it's not the plush, cushy kind of hotel where you don't want to leave. read more

If I could rate this place a zero, I would. By far the most disgusting room I've ever stayed it. RIDICULOUS prices for disgusting carpet that we can't even walk on without shoes. Our bed sheets have stains on them. The curtain in the living room to the deck have a disgusting stain on them. The bathroom shower walls look like they haven't been re-cocked for 10 years including some mold in the cocking. Absolutely will not be staying here again. DO NOT recommend. My friends and I had a horrible experience at this hotel. No room service, a bird in our fireplace, and hair all over the bathroom. The icing on the cake... we were given a towel that said "pet" on it written in sharpie. This place is a literal health code violation. When we brought up our concerns the staff was horribly rude and refused to give us a refund. Will never come here again and I interned to warn people not to come here too. Stayed on the bottom floor during the Covid-19 pandemic in August, 2020. The Inn is located off the Prom and near the beach as advertised. This makes for quick access if you enjoy walking, running, or riding bikes on the prom. They have 4 bikes available to rent free of charge. The kitchen has 2 burners, 1 pan, a coffee maker with mystery coffee in a glass container (fairly weak, likely Folders), a fridge, and a small kitchen sink. There is also an electric fire-place that didn't work. There are TVs in the living and bedroom. Overall, the interior is a dive and outdated, which seems typical for beach inns / houses. As other reviewers stated, it is ideal to stay on the 2nd or 3rd floor. I can see how it would not be worth the stay if you're on the bottom floor, let alone facing away from the beach. Room 104 (our room) is located on the 1st floor and faces the beach/Prom; HOWEVER!, it is next to the dumpster, soda machine, ice machine, and stairs which I would avoid if possible. The walls are thin and you can hear the creaking stairs and loud, machine cranking ice machine. Although these seem like red flags, it's only specific to this one room. For the rooms on the 1st floor facing the Prom, realize that the prom is 2 feet away (practically just outside) and anyone walking by can see into your living room and bedroom. This is very distracting as it seems as though everyone walks along the prom. Overall, if they only have 1st floor rooms, then try another Inn. read more

What a great place to stay while you are in Seaside. This place is about a mile from the main drag, but it well worth staying here. Everyone that we encountered that works here was amazing. Everyone welcomed us with smiles, and warm greetings. We called ahead and let them know we where getting into town a bit early, and without hestitation told us they would start cleaning our room first and getting it ready for our arrival. When we got there, our room was ready, and they already had the doggy basket for our dog ready as well. The room was very nice, and relaxing. We stayed in room 103, and was perfect for having a dog. The room looks out to the ocena, and is steps away from many areas for our dog to go to the bathroom. We sat on our patio most of the time, and watched the ocean waves, and of course took the 3 minute walk to go and lay on the beach. Where his hotel is located the beach was very empty, and was relaxing. No complaints whatsoever, and would love to stay here again, and will reccommend this place to anyone wanting to come to Seaside. read more

I enjoyed my stay at Inn at the Shore. I stayed in room 104, which was the two bedroom with the ice machine and vending machine directly outside the front door (as well as the garbage cans on the side of the building). There was a significant amount of noise, as the walls were thin and we were so close to the ice machine and trash cans. I encountered a homeless man digging in the garbage area the first day of our stay. The interior was a little outdated and there was a stain on the carpet in the living area, but otherwise everything was clean. I enjoyed that there was a view of the ocean from both one of the bedrooms and the living area. There were four chairs outside on the patio (one of them had a broken arm). There are four bikes available for you to check out at the front desk. The front desk lady was extremely friendly and outspoken. I think some may interpret that as blunt, but I enjoyed her personality. Overall a pleasant stay read more

Made reservation in advance...two bedroom 1 and 1/2 bath ocean front with double balcony. Company gives great communication all the way through, personal and attentive texts and email. Room was ready several hours early, and they let us know right away. Room included fireplace, kitchen, dining area, living room. View is lovely and the area is mostly very quiet. The kitchen was extremely well equipped--good knives, a real cutting board, measuring cups, a colander!, real wine glasses, nice coffee mugs, utensils, great pots and pans! Unit had dishwasher, full fridge, microwave/convection unit, coffee maker (K-type), and 2-burner cooktop. Baths very nicely appointed. All linens so fresh and clean! Mattresses modern technology and very, very comfortable. No AC, but good quiet box fans were already on the job and ready for us when we arrived. We left the patio doors open at night to hear the surf--what a good night's sleep we had! Staff was amazing, the cleaning crew was also amazing and friendly. Totally accommodating to every question and request. And as previous reviewer stated, Amadeus was especially amazing, full of information and energy, he's a great host and fun to talk to. I was charged over $400 because I didn't cancel my reservation. I had just found out my mom had cancer and I just couldn't leave her. I called the manager the next day and explained what happened. She said she should have called me to remind me. I sent an email to the hotel and asked them to give it to the owner. She said the owner was out of town for a month and they would get back to me. They never did and when I called back they didn't said they didn't have a manager with that name. They had two managers but wouldn't let me talk to either one of them. I called the regional manager and got her assistant who refused to reimbursement me anything at all. I do understand the policy of this hotel regarding cancellations but they could have knocked it down to just the deposit I paid for one night. I feel this is a greedy maneuver on their part. I'm an elderly disabled person who was taken advantage of. These people have no heart! They were very rude to me and hung up on me when I tried to explain. I had gone to this hotel twice before and thought they were very nice but after this I will never go there again. I had also sent them them a copy of my mom's death certificate to prove that she passed away two months later. read more

Better check all the details! We just checked in for 2 nights in the 2 bedroom deluxe queen pet friendly family suite. We have stayed here before and it was a pretty good place. However, today when we arrived the first thing we noticed was no screen door for one of the two ground level sliding glass doors. We rented this suite because we were bringing two wandering little boys with us and 1 big dog. When I called the front office to tell them this was not acceptable, they told me none of the rooms with 2 sliders have screens on both doors. However, my husband walked outside and found that many do. This is a safety issue. They eventually called back to say that the previous guest had broken the screen and that it was out for repair. However, I have owned my own business and not having a good back up plan for quick replacement is unacceptable. We are forced to use a lawn chair to attempt to block children and dogs from unauthorized exiting. Here are some other things we noticed: 1 remote for TV's in 2 rooms (living and front bedroom) apparently we are supposed to share. This is downright cheap and when the person in the bedroom changes the channel on their TV it changes the channel on the living room TV. Another downright cheap thing is we got 1.5 oz of dish soap in our 3 oz dish soap bottle (there is a dishwasher, but geez). Also we got 1 coffee filter, hubby had to walk to the front office to ask for more. Again cheezy Cheap! Also, in the age of Covid we would expect liquid handwashing soap in the bathrooms and at the kitchen sink. There was none. Just the cheesy cheap motel bar soap. We went and bought some liquid soap and already had some sanitizing supplies with us. We noticed the silverware and utensil drawer was crummy (literally crumbs from a previous guest) and really felt unsure how deeply these units are being cleaned. The toilet and tub looked clean but many nicer hotels signal good cleaning with a paper band over the toilet. Maybe I am being super picky but because of the increased risk and visible dirt on the kitchen floor in the corner next to the refrigerator, and the dirty silverware drawer it just makes me wonder. We have decided to look for a different place to stay next time. read more

We loved the Inn at the Shore. It is located on the south end of town away from the throngs found in the city center further to the north. We found it friendly, quant, comfortable and affordable. It is an older place, but there appear to have been some updating and our room was nicely appointed. Some have complained about the noise. Well it is right by the ocean to which people flock. I would challenge anyone to find a Seaside accommodation that is quiet and serene. Others have complained about rudeness from employees and management. We found the opposite; everyone was wonderful. We felt that if an oasis can be found in Seaside, U Street is it. And we found a wonderful bar and grill just up the street. We'll be back. read more

Booked two nights of Honeymoon here. It got great ratings on Yelp. We checked in and found out that there are several half truths advertised. Yes you get a King bed, but it's about as comfortable as the yard outside to sleep on. Probably because the mattress is so old that the springs are nonexistent. You get WiFi, but the four networks available are virtually nonexistent. At least in room 102. There is a jet tub in the room, but there are limits on the times you can use it. Mainly because the walls are paper thin. When I complained about the WiFi I was told to sit outside and try it. Ummm I didn't pay $200 a night to go outside and use the WiFi, ESPECIALLY when I am but 20 feet to the back of the office where the router sits. Also, our "Ocean View" is blocked by a bush by the sliding glass door and the bushes closer to the beach. I have posted a picture taken from a sitting position on our bed. The picture they posted next to the "Book it" Tab on their web page shows a nice balcony and the OCEAN. Talk about some false advertising. They did have two things that I wish all hotels had, complimentary bicycles and a jet tub. For that they get two stars. All in all, I won't be coming back, EVER! Far too expensive for what you really get. The bed sucks, I woke up with an aching back both mornings. The WiFi sucks. The service is OK. Don't waste your money. read more

May 30, 2020 Inn at the Shore 2275 S. Prom Seaside, OR 97138 Dear Sir or Madam: I made a reservation to stay at Inn at the Shore for 5/27 and 5/28. When I arrived, I received a very cold and hostile acknowledgment as the manager gave no kind word in greeting. I was surprised that there were no signs posted outside of the lobby about social distancing or new safety procedures. It made me question whether or not any of the new safety guidelines were even being implemented. Since I received no prior guidance I entered the lobby, but the manager abruptly stated "check-in isn't until 4 pm" and kept repeating that until I left. I did return to the lobby to voice my concerns about the manager's unfriendly and unwelcoming behavior, but the manager neither apologized nor took responsibility for his actions. He kept saying "I did everything I was supposed to do." If his responsibility is to be unkind to paid customers and make them feel unwelcome, well, then yes, he did his job. This gave me a very bad feeling. Therefore, I asked about canceling my reservation and getting my money refunded. The manager immediately said he could not give me a refund and told me to leave. I advised him that if I couldn't get a refund, then I would just keep the reservation and stay (as I had already paid the money). Incredulously, the manager said that he did not want me to return and asked me to leave! All I did was point out his poor customer service with the intent of remedying the situation. We're all going through stressful times right now, and I was giving him the benefit of the doubt. Nonetheless, as I was trying to get things figured out about whether or not my reservation was being canceled, the manager took things so far as to threaten to call the police to have me removed from the premises! He later stated that he was going to cancel my reservation and I'd get my money back. Since this was not what he said originally when I asked about a refund, I clarified, "so I'll get my money back?" His response was "sure." It's been three days, and I have still not received any kind of correspondence from Inn at the Shore stating that I will be getting a refund. I am very disappointed in the lack of customer service, especially from someone in a managerial position. We recently went to Seaside for an anniversary getaway. We enjoyed the location right on the promenade at the quiet end of town. We could easily walk to the main strip of town in 20 minutes and also next door was a fun pub and a golf course that served up a great breakfast and a fun happy hour! The hotel room was peaceful with a balcony that had an amazing view of the beach. Would definitely stay here again and again! read more

I rated this a five because it should be a 4.5 and is currently a 4. it is for the price a great inn. from last tuesday to thursday my wife and I got a room here. one of the the king jacuzzi suits. it was about 170 for two nights. for a king size ocean view (nothing but dune between us and the beach) with a jacuzzi that was decent sized and even a little kitchenette ( small fridge, small sink, microwave, coffeemaker) and tv and dvd/vcr with a free library of dvd's and vhs tapes in the main office and a fireplace that you just turn a switch to turn on, this was a great deal! and the receptionist was very nice too. so ratings: Price : 4.5 stars furnishings(what they are and their quality) :4 (no real bad smells or stains views and location: 5 its close to everything, and a GREAT view. overall 4.5 oh and some free salt water taffy at the front desk and in the room :D read more

A friend and I took a weekend trip to Oregon and stayed here. What a great choice! We were just far enough from the bustling tourist part of town that we didn't feel crowded on the beach or anything but close enough that it was an easy walk for dinner or to shop. Additionally, since we are from out of the area, Amadeus was a real gem. Amadeus was kind enough to draw us out a pretty detailed map of interesting places to visit and some amazing restaurants to eat at. All of them were outstanding from the food to the shops we visited. Definitely second his suggestion to visit The Mindful Raven, which is run by the delightful Raven. It has a lot of interesting things and I found a lovely painting I couldn't leave behind. All in all I don't think we would have found all of this without our pseudo-tourist guide and being able to have a very clean and quiet place to come back to and relax at was the foundation of a great trip. Went on a mid-week getaway (overnighter) with the hubby. Check in was a breeze, the receptionist was very pleasant. Room was to be expected based off photos online. The fact that we were able to book last minute was rad. NO ONE had rooms open right on the beach level at the last minute- that is if you didn't mind paying $190+!! The kingsize bed was a treat, but hard on our backs :-( Thats my thumbs down for the room. I think the jacuzzi tub made up for it though. Water pressure was slow, so it took about 15-20 min for the tub to fill... Keep in mind this is a 2 seater tub, it was still slow. Would definitely go again, but opt for 2nd or 3rd floor. I liked being directly on the prom, but did not like that we we couldn't keep the patio door open to hear the ocean. The latch was broken, and didn't feel safe keeping it open overnight. read more

Great customer service! Each person I encountered at the front office was helpful and cheerful. Rooms were tidy and welcoming. We stayed on the ground floor and were able to see the water from our room. Room service is currently not being offered due to Covid restrictions, but staff were more than happy to run extra supplies to us. Bikes are available in the front office to use for two hrs at a time and DVDs are available to take back to your room. My only complaint is that the pull out couch mattress wasn't too comfortable to sleep on, but still nice to have and fun to pile onto for movie nights with the family. read more

It's not all bad so we'll start with the pros. Jacuzzi bathtub- amazing! View- gorgeous. Firplace- very nice addition. The room had a comfortable feel and the staff was corteous and helpful. One MAJOR complaint, and although I loved everything else about this hotel this complaint is enough that we will not be returning again until it is remedied.. The bed and pillows are absolutely horrible. For a hotel with very few amenities outside of the Jacuzzi bath tub, paying 150+ each night to wake up aching all over and with a raging headache from an old spring mattress with a thin pad thrown on top of it is absolutely NOT okay. Not to mention all of the pillows are either rock hard or way to thin. Please, please replace the mattresses and pillows. read more

Our family has been staying at this Inn for the last 3 years. We have always reserved the same room on the bottom floor with the kitchenette. This year, was absolutely terrible! The propane fireplace did not work (it was in the 50's and raining this weekend). We kept asking the gal at the front desk and she told us to give the furnace between 1-10 minutes for it to start. We let them know that it still would not start, finally on our last day they sent a maintenance man to come look at it (we were there for 3 days). There was a HUGE, nasty stain on one of the chair cushions in the living area. We specifically got the room with the kitchenette to use the stove and only one of the 2 burners worked. We again, told the gal at the front desk and later that night at about 6:30pm they offered an alternative tabletop burner, which would have totally worked had we not already finished cooking. The baseboard heaters have paint peeling/flaking off all along the wall. Apparently, due to COVID-19 there is no housekeeping services so good luck getting new towels or anything else for that matter. And they did not explain this at the time we checked in. Our room was a 2/bedroom Suite but apparently you get charged extra for anyone else who stays in the extra bedroom. Like $60.00 extra! it's an Extra Occupants charge? When asked to speak to a manager upon departure, front desk personnel told us to call in a few days to speak to a manger. We learned after doing just that, that there was NOT a manager on site and they would "love to relay a message for us". We definitely will not be staying in this Inn again.
