Best B + B stay we ever had! Where to begin? Well after our car broke down, leaving us stranded…read more1,000 miles from home, we had no idea where we would stay or if/how we would get our car fixed. When I called the owner Chris, he was very attentive to our situation and even knew a great mechanic in the area he thought could help us with our German SUV (not easy to find!). We stayed multiple days as we had to wait for a water pump, and Chris even offered us his side by side to get around town and the mechanic was as advertised. Chris even picked us up from the shop after we dropped the car and found a friend to do the same upon pickup of the car. We were thankful for our extra nights in Mt View where we sat on the old timey porch with other guests and Chris gave us a history lesson on Folk Music and even played the Dulcimer for us. All in all, this was the best thing that could have happened to us after finding ourselves stranded at a Wal-Mart just as we were about to drive 1,000 miles home. And of course the breakfast was amazing, and the room/decor just as perfect. Coming from the grim hustle of the east coast, we were left with the overwhelming feeling that there still are good people in the world, and we're appreciative to have made a new friend.

Only a few minutes away from the little Mountain View town, it is easy to get to restaurants and the caverns and parks. It also is still very secluded and quiet and relaxing. Our hosts were wonderful!! Very very accommodating and helped with everything we needed. We had wonderful conversations with them! They had a great guest pantry and tasty breakfast each morning. We stayed in the garden room, which had a great balcony overlooking the property. We have zero complaints from this place and would go back again in a heart beat.

The Abbe House is a beautiful, warm, and charming bed & breakfast located on a majestic piece of property just 10 minutes from Greers Ferry lake. They offer 10 or 11 clean and comfy rooms, each uniquely themed. We stayed in the "Roman Room" which had a beautiful view of the property and best of all included a huge bathroom and massive jacuzzi tub. The Abbe House Inn is owned and operated by the Herrington family with the help of a couple of close friends (sous chef and her family). ALL of the staff are absolutely amazing and make you feel like a part of the family. Their hospitality and down to earth nature was such a nice surprise since this place proves itself to be of "5 star" quality. Mark Herrington is the head chef as well as head honcho in charge. He has dedicated his career and life to running this B&B and boy does he have a lot on his plate! Not only does he cook amazing food, which compares to any fine dining experience that ive had; but he also does all of the inns booking, marketing, and even acts as ground keeper to this stunning property. The best part...Mark and his family (sous chef included) are legitimately cool freakin people! We had the best time hanging out on the back patio in the evenings. But it was exactly what we were hoping it to be and EVERYTHING more. The experience as a whole was nothing short of PHENOMENAL. It was refreshing to get away and be around Moose and Tina who are such kind and whole hearted people that make you feel right at home. Plus they are SO fun to chat with. They went above and beyond to make the trip special. We started calling them "Mom and Dad" by the second day because they were taking such incredible care of us. The food was OUTSTANDING, we ate until we COULDN'T MOVE for every meal. The lodge is such a relaxing environment with so many cool elements to the decor and scenery. There is also awesome wildlife watching. A family of deer that come right up to the house and bald eagles that fly across the skyline. The stars at night WILL take your breath away (bring a telescope.) The beds are extremely comfortable and the rooms are all very spacious. There's not a single picture that will do the view justice from the top of the lodge but I have posted a few. It honestly looked like a green screen it was so beautiful. (note: None of my photos have been edited for this post. That cotton candy colored skyline is REAL! ) The fishing was FANTASTIC, the guides were hilarious and we so much fun. We caught at least 100 fish between the two of us over two days. It was so exciting and thrilling. (Fishing Highlights: Alan caught a rare California Golden and I caught a big brown trout.) Then, on the last day we kayaked on the Buffalo River and it was so much fun. The Buffalo River is hands-down the most beautiful rivers to kayak. Moose also helped us arrange the reservation for the kayaks. We stayed at the lodge over the Fourth of July holiday and at night we got to watch about 10 different firework shows from the balcony, near and far - you can see them all. I will never forget it. Overall, we will NEVER forget our experience and hope to go back as soon as possible. The White River Inn is a hidden gem. Don't hesitate. Make your reservation. The lodge has some of the best trophies from around the world creating a world-class feel, and rooms are spacious, high ceilings. Our room had a private porch and beds were awesome, bathroom with shower & tub was super nice. Huge deck overlooks the river and hummingbirds galore entertain morning coffee and evening cocktails. This place is fantastic and we will become regulars. Highly recommend it for a 1st class experience. Fishing guides were some of the best we've had and of course the fishing was amazing.
