Such a fun and friendly environment. Great place to hang out and chill. Have some beers or a mixed drink, play pool, bottle toss, open mic, karaoke, live music, always something to do. Check it out. Definitely earns 5 stars. Good service and great food also.

Direct your eye to the doors of the bathrooms. Tidy Whities and Thongs. Who thought of that?!?

One of a kind. Hubby and I were traveling to Fayetteville from northeast Arkansas to attend my sister's funeral a couple of days later. We rarely go to chain restaurants, especially when we're out of town, so we found a sign on the road that said "TCs Midtown Grill". Not a chain - let's try it! First of all, it's located quite a ways down from the entrance so don't give up looking for it. You walk in a small entry hall and, there it is (angels singing) a Jager tree. A Christmas tree made of Jagermeister bottles - topped with deer antlers, some beads and an upside down Red Bull can. This place could bring out the red neck in even the most sophisticated. The bar looks inviting and the decor is very casual. The walls are lined with music memorabilia and large pictures of iconic musical figures. They've discovered a unique way of distinguishing the bathrooms and that is to hang a framed pair of tidy whities on the mens and a pair of thongs on the womens. Brilliant!! They have a well stocked bar, booths, tables with chairs, a stage, a juke box, a cigarette machine, some pool tables and I think even a shuffle board table. The bar tender/server told us to sit where we liked and, because of the time we stopped by - Saturday around 1:00 p.m. - there were plenty of places to choose from. There were about 6 or 7 other people in the place. The server was very friendly and we didn't have to ask for anything. We were well taken care of. I ordered the bacon, egg and cheese sandwich with fries and a diet Coke and hubs ordered the chicken wrap with fries and a PBR. All of it was delicious and came out quickly. I don't see any reason why we would ever go that way again, but if we do, we'll be looking up TCs again.

The restaurant is decorated tastefully in a quaint New Orleans style, and the atmosphere is dress casual and calm, perfect for nice, quiet get together. The restaurant is not designed for a high volume of people, so reservations are best because they stay busy. As I mentioned, Mike's Place is New Orleans themed, and the menu reflects this style, but there are many delicious options. My wife and I made 6:00 pm reservations for our 41st wedding anniversary. We arrived around 5:45 pm but we were seated before 6:00. Our server, Dallas, was very friendly and attentive and took care of all our dining needs. We first ordered the Coconut Shrimp appetizer. This arrived quickly and was hot and well prepared. The Coconut Shrimp comes with a delicious dipping sauce. For our entrees, my wife ordered the Atlantic Salmon with fried okra and baked potato, all of which was served hot and well prepared. My wife has dairy allergies and she requested a butter substitute for the baked potato, and Dallas was able to provide margarine instead of butter. I ordered the Commodore's Platter, which comes with Lobster Tail, Dungeness Crab Claws, White Fish and Shrimp with salad and one side. You can get the seafood prepared grilled, blackened or fried. Even though a "platter" sounds like a lot of food, it was filling but not too much. This was another excellent experience at Mike's Place, and we'll definitely be back!

Besides the reviews here I had heard from a few locals that this place was a good place for dinner and nobody has anything bad to say about it. I'm happy to confirm that was the same result for us. We were seated quickly even without a reservation around 5:30 this evening. We ordered the bang bang shrimp for an appetizer and a round of cocktails. They were served fairly quickly considering how busy they were at the time. For dinner I got the pecan crusted white fish and my friend got the blackened white fish. Both tasted delicious which was great. My wife got a Cesar salad and a loaded bake potato and it was also good. The service was great as well. The waiter and other staff were very attentive and checked on us regularly. The overall feel of the place is casual upscale. It's nice without being fancy. It has kind of a rustic vibe to it that is nice to look at. We enjoyed our experience here and would come back again when we're in town.

It was several miles off the main highway, but we decided to give it a try anyway--not worth the drive or time. The eating area was clean but all the knick knacks needed a good dusting. There were several daily specials posted but without prices and we didn't ask...mistake #2. We got an onion rings appetizer. They were good. I ordered the stuffed potato with brisket. It was room temperature and had one tiny slice of brisket cut into four pieces hidden by cheese and sour cream. It was ok. I mean how badly can you mess up a potato? My husband ordered the Cajun sampler. The proteins were delicious-fried fish, shrimp, crawfish, but that's it. We are Louisianians born and bred. It came with cups of gumbo and red beans and rice. I'm not sure what was in the first cup, but it wasn't gumbo and was pretty much inedible. The crackers with the gumbo were so old, they were rancid. You could smell the odor as soon as you opened the package. The red beans and rice were flavorless except for waaaay too much red pepper (tons of Tony Chacherie's does not make it Cajun). There was Texas toast--should have had hush puppies, but whatever. We drank water. THEN we got the bill--$55 for lunch before the tip. Even though parts of the meals were good, it was not worth the price or the detour.

Maci, our server for the afternoon, was absolutely amazing. She did an amazing job and was just such a ray of sunshine on a cloudy rainy day. We absolutely adored her. The atmosphere of the restaurant is commercial roadhouse chic. It's charming in its way. Everything was clean, including the bathrooms. One nit pick was that one of the soap dispensers was empty but the other wasn't. On the bright side the rib eyes were cooked perfectly. Whether it was medium rare or just medium, they were cooked to the right temperature. Also the seasoning was done well. Nothing was over salted. Overall, for a chain restaurant, I was very impressed with both the food and especially the service.

We waited and waited, and eventually got part of our drink order - at the same time as the booth seated after us got both their entrees. Our waittress was nice; she explained that the kitchen and bar staff was all new. Eventually, we got a bit more of our drink order - still no food and my Sweet Tea was still absent. When she finally brought our food; my entree was missing the baked potato and I still had no tea. She hustled back to the kitchen and brought my tea and a Baked Potato with sour cream - my main request had been that there be no sour cream on my potato. She took it away, and finally brought my correct potato. This was the worst dining experience we have had in a year or more. We understand that new staff must be trained, but where was the manager?! We'll need to avoid this Logan's for a year or so; it took so long to get our food that we had no time for dessert.
