We've been here a couple of times. It's not a bad place to stay. Some of the units are newer than…read moreothers and have better access to amenities, so do pay close attention to where they are putting you if you book a stay here. This place is near Sugar Loaf Mountain. If you have the stamina and the time. It's absolutely worth the climb. The views are amazing up there. I am glad that I took the time to hike it with my kids the first time we were here. I had mobility issues during my last visit. There was some confusion when we checked in as they said there were only a "few steps" to manage to get to our room. It was on the second floor with a full flight of stairs to ascend to get to the room. This wasn't happening and we were checking in pretty late to begin with so I was a bit worried. They did end up getting us something on the ground floor, so that was nice of them. We did end up in the units way far away from the pool and shops. Side note: If you have ever had the unpleasantries of not being able to walk, I do not recommend, not 10/10, not even 1/10... it sucks. I am sorry if you are dealing with that at all. Anyway. Back on track. Rooms are fairly large that we have had and kind of feel like an apartment more than hotels. Beds are comfy, they are clean, and it's pretty quiet around. Some of the appliances had to have been bought before this place was even built as there are numerous versions of straight up analog shit all up in the rooms. It's like a travel back in time. They have some nice pools and decent poolside bars and food places. The wings we had there were quite good, but that's another review. There are lots of things to do nearby and a few restaurants in the area that are pretty good. One place we ate was outstanding. The best carrot cake I have ever had. I think it starts with a J. Busy place! Heck. We may be back. It's close to home and not too expensive for a short trip here. '26 - 43

We are about to complete a week stay at Hamilton Cove which is part of Wyndham Resort at Fairfield…read moreBay. The week started with a great drive from Houston. GPS worked great at got us right to the registration building. Registration went very smooth with Nyx checking us in. We were in Condo 5 in Hamilton Cove. The outdoor pool was within walking distance and was enjoyed by my daughter's family. My wife and I took advantage of Tuesday Bingo at the local community center. Everyone was warm, friendly, and welcoming. The condo kitchen was well stocked with everything I needed to prepare meals for my family. Suggestion please sharpen the prep knives in the wood block. I was grateful I brought my own, a larger skillet and pot. All appliance worked perfectly. There were 4 adults and 3 kids. The condo accommodated is very well. My daughter had a Tesla and there was a local charging station within 4 miles of our condo. We took advantage of mini golf, bowling, hiking, grocery shopping at Harps, and Dollar General. All were located closely to our area. We drove down to the Fairfield Marina but did not take advantage of any of the activities. I left my golf clubs at home, but there was an 18 hole golf course nearby. My daughter and her kids visited the local cave.

Our total after-tax cost was $342, and unfortunately the overall condition of both the hotel and our guest room did not meet the level of quality I expect from the Hilton brand. I actually emailed management during my stay with detailed photos and a list of concerns because, as a hotel general manager myself, I believe issues should be brought directly to management first so they have an opportunity to address them. As of writing this review, I have not received a response. The staff members we interacted with were friendly and courteous, which I appreciate. However, the property's condition and attention to detail were disappointing. In our guest room (Room 410), we found numerous maintenance and cleanliness issues, including: * Wallpaper peeling from the walls in multiple locations * Shoe prints and dirt marks on the ceiling * Handprints and smudges on the walls * Greasy fingerprints on the entry door and headboard * Black mold visible inside the HVAC supply vents * Hair, dirt, and debris collected along the edges of the closet, bathroom, and entryway floors * Scrapes and dents in the drywall near the entrance * A loose toilet seat * Uneven bathroom tile with missing grout * Noticeable carpet stains between the beds and in front of the dresser area The deferred maintenance extended beyond the guest room as well. Wallpaper was peeling in the fourth-floor ice room and around the elevator lobby, giving the hotel a worn appearance. Breakfast was another disappointment. We arrived around 9:38 a.m., just before the end of service. While I understand breakfast was nearing its conclusion and the food that remained tasted good, the dining area was extremely messy. Counters were covered with food debris, empty serving pans remained out, and overall presentation suggested that the area had not been maintained throughout service. Regular tidying would have significantly improved the guest experience. None of these issues alone would have ruined our stay, but collectively they reflected a property that appears to be missing routine preventive maintenance and detailed housekeeping inspections. For the price we paid, I expected a much higher standard. Hampton Inn has built a reputation for consistency, cleanliness, and quality, and this property unfortunately did not reflect those expectations. I hope management takes these concerns seriously, performs a comprehensive room and public-area quality audit, and addresses both the maintenance deficiencies and housekeeping quality control. The employees were welcoming, but the property itself needs significant attention to meet the standards guests expect from the Hilton brand.

The gal at the desk in the office didn't seem to be very knowledgeable. She told us the guide would not provide water. The refrigerator didn't have any water either. Thank goodness the guide did, indeed, provide us with bottled water. The guide definitely made up for the negative experience with the office staff.

The funny thing was, there were no boats out of the dock and no one fishing off the dock. Our guide was nice and told me that he and other employees live on the grounds, but the owners live an hour or more away. It shows. We were turned away at the restaurant and told we needed to make reservations one to two weeks ahead. There were only four people in the restaurant. Employees hang out smoking all the time at its back door by cabins. The dock needs repairs. Some on the fishing dock are dangerous. Overall, I love being at Lindsey's because of the picturesque surroundings, but the management is very poor.
