Home Depot sells "garage refrigerators." These are much larger than a mini-fridge, but smaller than…read morea standard fridge. Many people seem to use these as their main fridge, or as an extra fridge somewhere in their home (and sometimes in the garage). However, Home Depot will not install "garage refrigerators" or haul away your old fridge. I did not know this until I started to purchase one. The salesman was very nice, but he did not know the Home Depot policies or options. He did not know where I could find someone to haul away my old fridge. Therefore, I did not purchase a new fridge. Later, I went on the Home Depot website. They would deliver the "garage refrigerator" for $35.00, or arrange total service with a private contractor for $115.00. Home Depot's delivery of the fridge is only to your curbside or driveway. At a later point, I went online again, and the options had changed. Home Depot would deliver the fridge for $35.00, and then private contractors would call me with haul-away and installation prices. Home Depot will deliver a standard fridge for $39.00, install it for $17.98, and haul away your old fridge for $50.00. If you buy a fridge with an ice-maker, things might get more complicated. Also, according to online forums, some people had problems with delays, damages, and incompetence with connecting water lines. Because of this confusion, I lived for 2 weeks without a refrigerator. It can be done. I realized that I do not need a big heavy refrigerator. I bought an electric cooler with a "dual zone" fridge and freezer, and with a compressor. I put it in the cubby hole where my old fridge used to be. I can move it around and clean that whole area. If/when it breaks down, I can haul it out by myself and buy another one. If you ever buy a cooler, make sure to look at the weight so that you can manage it by yourself. My instruction booklet was not completely accurate. I had to turn to online sources for more help to set it up. I also bought a fridge thermometer to double-check the interior temperature. My cooler holds my basic necessities plus more. I gave Home Depot one star because of their poor service policies, and their poorly trained store employees.
