Tyson Wells can be best described as a swap meet focused on rocks and minerals. But unlike the Desert Gardens show ( down the road), which is focused only on rocks and minerals, the Tyson Wells show has many more vendors selling junk items made in China. That's probably the biggest negative about this show. You'll find everything here from animal skulls, to glass pipes ( like the ones you see on Live PD), and they even have a grocery store that sells mostly expired food items that were discarded from grocery stores. Perhaps one of the saddest things I saw was that one vendor was selling stalagmites and stalactites in one of the dark alleys. It's illegal to collect, buy, and sell stalagmites in several states. So should you still go here? If you're driving the 10 in January, definitely! It's free to park and visit and they have so many interesting things for sale here. You'll probably spend more than hour here, but it's worth it. Note - Earlier in the week we visited the Desert Gardens down the road and if you're looking for strictly rocks, minerals and fossils to add to your collection that's a better choice. The Desert Gardens show was family-friendly, Tyson Wells is like a true swap meet so you should treat it as such with your kids. Tip - You MUST visit the actual Tyson Wells Storefront. It's on the main street and you can't miss their sign. It's mostly a gift store and a MASSIVE selection of board games. The owners are soooo friendly to kids...

Our gifts turned out so nice! We can't wait for Christmas. The prices are right and you can usually get your goodies in the same day. This is a seasonal business, like most in Quartzsite. You can find them here from November to March. And they are closed on Wednesday. Probably out playing somewhere. These are also two of the nicest folks we've met! We will probably be back again. If not for another "goodie", then just to stop by and say hi.

Every time we come to Havasu we always set aside some extra craft money to spend here. My girlfriend's grandma was friends with the owner and used to shop here all the time so we try to keep up the tradition whenever we visit her grandpa. Service is excellent, selection is superb and the prices are quite reasonable. Shop local and keep the Sugar Shack in business for future generations!

Be careful picking up anything because some of their items can burn you. I'm not too sure what the market for some of these rocks are, I'm assuming garden and ornamental uses. In any case, it's a fun place to check out and stretch your legs. Tip - For smaller mineral items and fossils the prices were better down the street at Gem World.

We were here for the Tyson Wells Gem Show and Swap Meet but we found this store right off the main drag. It's a small gift shop full of Quartzsite souvenirs and it's also a very nice game shop for all those snowbirds from Canada. If you're looking for every expansion set made for Catan and Ticket to Ride then this is your place. - Family-Friendly! Probably the best part about visiting this shop were the friendly and courteous owners. - They also have a nice selection of gourmet and hard to find bottled sodas.

Havasu Rocks is a gift and rock shop located in the Lake Havasu Museum of History. Many of the rocks were collected locally by Club members or donated to the Club. Kathy was volunteering during our visit. She was very helpful, knowledgable and friendly to us as we tried to learn about the geology of the area. We purchased several rocks. Prices are reasonable and support a good cause. Kathy also gave us clues on where to explore and collect locally.
