Good time for an update!…read more I stopped by Gem World last week, and overall, it's still one of the best places around for minerals, crystals, and rocks. The selection is massive. Whenever looking for minerals, this is a highly recommended place to go to. The main issue here, and it's a big one, is unclear and inconsistent pricing. A lot of items simply aren't labeled properly. For example, you'll see trays of quartz with vague Quality ranges like "from A+ to C," but no explanation of what that actually means. Because of this, prices often get decided at the register instead of on the shelf! Ouch! This leads directly to the real problem: whoever helps you can quote you a completely different price for the exact same item. !!! There's one older Asian lady you really want to avoid like plague, for example. no matter how high the prices are, she will always charge a triple the amount it cost. Very greedy. The upselling is aggressive and constant. Prices going up overall is understandable inflation happens. But when pricing isn't transparent, it opens the door to situations like this, and that's frustrating.

Lots of great deals too-the prices are very reasonable and their clearance items are also well priced. So many gorgeous stone, gem, crystal and artisan pieces. Every time we pass through Quartzite I make a point to come here and it doesn't disappoint. If you're passing through Quartzite you should definitely make a point to stop by and look around.

An interesting rock yard with piles of glass, rock, and fossils…read more Quartzite is hot, and most of the rocks here are not under cover. Be careful picking up anything because some of their items can burn you. I'm not too sure what the market for some of these rocks are, I'm assuming garden and ornamental uses. In any case, it's a fun place to check out and stretch your legs. Tip - For smaller mineral items and fossils the prices were better down the street at Gem World.

He showed me how the rusty water that had collected at the bottom of a barrel had accidentally dyed many of the tumbled rocks inside and how that coloration would penetrate some levels of the rock while being repelled by a neighboring layer. No one said hello or welcomed us but that was fine, we just browsed for a bit. Ended up buying at another store that was a bit cheaper, but this store had a huge selection and reasonable pricing, a little higher if you're looking for small knick knacks. Good stop and has a large area for making your own jewelry with individual beads and stones!

It's a small gift shop full of Quartzsite souvenirs and it's also a very nice game shop for all those snowbirds from Canada. If you're looking for every expansion set made for Catan and Ticket to Ride then this is your place. - Family-Friendly! Probably the best part about visiting this shop were the friendly and courteous owners. - They also have a nice selection of gourmet and hard to find bottled sodas.

This is definitely my favorite rock show! It totally rocks! And there aren't even any bands. Just…read morerocks. It's gritty and real, far less commercialized than gem shows you typically find at fairgrounds. A large majority of the vendors here are true rockhounds, who have a passion for what they do. Many of these guys are the ones that found the rocks they are selling. So you will find much more raw material here, bulk rock, and other wholesale-type deals. There are giant amethyst stalagmites, barrels of agates, large quartz crystals, fossils, and every kind of stone you can imagine. Since the people are real and own the stuff they are selling, the prices can be negotiable, too. So if you like to haggle, haggle away. Especially if you are buying large amounts of stuff. The show is also huge, and it's unlikely that you could finish in one day. I know there's no way I could, and didn't when I passed by even though I wished for more time. Maybe it's because I have always marvelled at the amazing number of permutations that nature creates with what is essentially, dirt. Millions of years in the ground cooking and bam, awesome crystals, intricate patterns, beautiful colors. I only made it through about one third of the show in two hours. Overall, if you are up for an adventure and looking for something fun to do, the Desert Gardens Rock, Gem, and Mineral Show will definitely be worth the trip. Five stars all the way.

This store had the best prices of seen on so many items, if you pass through these parts you have to visit this place if you're looking for not only the best deal, but some of the coolest items if you're into crystals, incense, boho decor...this is your place! The owner was there on my visit, he was super nice and very knowledgeable about the stones and items he had on offer. This is the type of place where you could easily go crazy and leave with lotsss of cool items, and great gifts if you're on the hunt for all things spiritual. Love that there were papers with descriptions for many of the stones. My next stop to Quartzite, I'm headed straight to Road Runner Rocks to get some more cool gifts.
