The Authentic Philly Cheese Steak. Is that one word or two? According to the menu it is "Cheesesteaks", which auto correct doesn't like, but there it is. Rainy-ish Thursday December night at about midnight, or really 6:00PM but as dark and rainy as it was, it felt like midnight, the crowd had not hit yet but was trickling in. I found the opportunity to hit up Inky's going to a Clemson graduation party from Greenville. Good timing. No wait seating. Allowed to get a beer from next door, craft beers from Silos Brewing. Ordered the authentic standard 12 inch Philly with the Cooper cheese option, no additions because we are playing the authenticity game. Which is in itself a bit of an argument since a few "authentic" cheesesteaks in Philly swear by Cheese Whiz as authentic. Cheese Whiz is not an option, but provolone or American and Cooper are options. This is otherwise certified Angus beef ribeye, sliced super thin and incorporated on the grill with onions and the cheese into one homogeneous filling of authenticity. Also, the roll is the authentic Italian style from Liscio's Bakery - softer and chewier. I am not sure if it is a Liscio style or if they actually import these, but they are the real deal for texture and flavor. So, all that is fantastic. My only beef with the authenticity is just that....the beef. Not specifically the beef quality, but the beef quantity. The Philly Cheesesteaks I have had (in Philly) usually have a higher beef to bread ratio than my experience here. Could just be the chef for this one, but it seemed that my experience has been beef almost overflowing the hoagie bread. With that said, this is a fantastic and mouth watering sandwich. Not dry. Steaming hot. Came out very quickly. Made to order. Priced at $14.25 with tax comes to $15.53. I would say that coupled with the Silos experience, this is a destination worthy sandwich. If the restaurant keeps it this way, still worth it, but I wish there were an option to pay $2 more, for example, for 1.5X meat and it would be perfect. At the Silo in Easley, Inky's was spacious and our waitress was very prompt. The Philly cheesesteak were hot and delicious. My husband had fried and I code the house made chips. Order the chips! Not that the fries weren't good, but I loved their crispy chips. read more

Excellent food and service, my wife is a Jersey Girl and she loved their cheesetreaks. While I am from Pittsburgh originally I could do without the Philly decor, but that takes NOTHING away from the excellent food and service. I was also pleasantly surprised at the value for the food, very good ratio in terms of what you get for your money vs what you pay. Big foodie and traveled for many years. Always want new local places to eat. Sadly, the Philly we had was dry as a bone. The best Philly we've found up here was a Tonys subs on Hwy 81. The atmosphere at Inkys was not bad. Manager seems stressed. We were told to wait for outside seating. But we saw several people just take outside seating and nothing was said. Room to grow here. The fries were not good at all. Frozen and not fresh. Tatar tots were the best and house chips were not good. Overall this place has so much potential but not likely we'll be back. I can't believe I've lived in SC for 3 years and this was our first visit to Inky's! Now I need to keep going back to make up for lost time! We had cheesesteaks, fried mushrooms, and cannoli. Everything was delicious. I had the small cheesesteak and it was still very big and I ended up taking half home. It had the perfect amount of cheese (I got the Cooper cheese and hubby got provolone) and the bread was fresh. We are very picky about our fried mushrooms and these were top shelf - crunchy breading and piping hot. Next time we will try them with cheez whiz instead of ranch (but the ranch was fine, we just really love cheese). The cannoli was super rich and the two of us split one and it was perfect. Ya'll. Everyone here was so kind and welcoming. From the hostess to the bar area and ordering my food and picking it up later, I was treated like GOLD! Everyone greeted me and everyone was smiling. That is rare lol. I ordered a small cheesesteak and a kids burger with tots. I was going to get a text when it was ready so I went back to my table outside. It was ready in about 15 mins. Order was correct. They even let me come back and get a refill on our drinks. My daughter had to use the bathroom and they let us use the bathroom in there which was an awesome help since the bathroom in the brewery area was all the way on the other side. The cheesesteak was delicious. The bread was soft and warm. The american white cheese paired so well with the meat. I loved the onions in it. No seasoning needed. I wish I would have gotten a large. I would consider myself well versed in the cheese steak world, and this one had some good and some not so good. The steak and filling was good, the bread was old unfortunately and beginning to harden on the ends, and the cheese was mostly wizz, and the provolone was undetectable. The colossal cheesesteak does not mean you get extra food, you get extra bread. The ratio of my cheesesteak is so off balance for steak to bread ratio. For an extra $8 more it is not worth it to get the colossal. Get the large and you get more food. The wait was short and we got our food quickly. The food was delicious; we got a Philly with hot peppers, a chicken bacon ranch sandwich, and fried mushrooms. Very disappointing since I have loved this place and recommended to a large number of people but now I doubt I will return. Inkys was pretty busy but had a good to go order system set up. I ordered the large steak with mushroom, onions and peppers combo and it was $21 dollars! The food is average taste like a cheesesteak from anywhere else nothing great but not bad definitely not worth $21 for lunch. As for the reply to the owner that is exactly what I ordered the largest sandwich you had which was 2 parts side and water.
