I think the wings are hands down the best thing about this place. My wife and I came to the area for a quick weekend getaway. We ordered a couple burgers and wings and while the burger was quite good the wings stole the show. Get the wet garlic wings. It was like a butter bath with tons of garlic. This place has got to be the slowest restaurant service wise. Thai is my third time here. We ordered wings and a salad with chicken tenders. It's been almost 40 minutes and we still don't have our food! Last time we will ever come. The first time we never received one of the food items we ordered. We gave them a pass since it was a pub crawl and it was busy. It's not that busy and it's 7 PM. We receive the bill and there is a Reg Fee. I asked what it was for and was told they thought it was for using a card but they would let me know. I used cash. Never saw them again. I went to them asked for a receipt. Then I was asked if I wanted my change. Weird since I paid with exact change. The Burning Brick charges you for using a card. I assume the server decided to keep the difference. So if you leave a cash tip, they are also keeping the fee and the discount for themselves. I will never go back. read more

It's an adorable little hidden gem! Our waitress was fantastic (I'm sorry I didn't catch her name). The service was a bit slow - it was a Wednesday night at 6:45, and not crowded at all. My steak panini was delicious, but I couldn't eat my side salad bc it was made with shredded lettuce and I got too frustrated trying to keep it on my fork. My hubby's chicken strips were 'okay', but the skinny fries were great. There were 2 'questionable' charges on our bill: an .85 service charge and an extra .25 for a 2nd ranch dressing that we hadn't been told about. Nothing major, but still unexpected. Worst bar/restaurant in Pickens. The food is terrible. It tastes like frozen food that is microwaved and served to you. the staff is rude unless you're one of the regulars. Check your tab and make sure they don't add any extra charges on it. And check your drink for gnats. I had a gnat frozen inside an ice cube. Probably best to avoid this cess pool and spend your money somewhere else. There are plenty of options that are more inviting and way cleaner. 0/10 do not recommend. read more

I was passing through town after camping for the weekend and I needed a good hot meal to fuel me for the road. The Burning Brick Tavern hit the spot! Pickens is such a cute town and the restaurant is right in the heart of their Main Street in a brick building with lots of parking around. I went in and was told I could pick a seat wherever I like, which is nice! My server Wendy was really sweet and attentive. She took my order right away and the food took about 5-10 minutes to come out. I ordered loaded potato skins with bacon and cheese, a cheeseburger, and a house salad for my side. I demolished it all! The salad was chopped and fresh. The potato skins were hot and savory and done just right. The burger stood out on the menu because they're made in house 100% beef patties, and a burger is either delicious or a flop. It was delicious! I found out from Wendy that they have a front patio, a back patio, and even an upstairs that is a little more upscale of a setting. The CUTEST part was the dumbwaiter she used to send the food upstairs! It's a small elevator used to take things upstairs and I haven't seen one in a long time. What a creative way to save time running up and down the stairs! Wendy was also just a pleasure to chat with, as I was by myself, and she was multitasking making drinks, serving food, taking orders, and sweeping floors. Give this woman a raise - or a paid vacation so she can go check out the waterfall I recommended to her! Overall this was a great place to eat and I would definitely return again. read more

Wish I could give a zero star. Walked in around 540 pm on a Saturday. Sat near the bar and was passed multiple times by the staff. Finally stopped one and asked for a menu and was not asked if we wanted anything to drink. It is now 554 and we walked out without even being spoken too. read more

Just driving through looking for somewhere to eat. Had good reviews so we thought we'd give it a try. It's a bar and pool hall as mentioned. Not much to look at inside but don't be fooled. The food is awesome. We both had the lunch cheeseburger with skinny fries and a drink. Probably cheaper than the burger chain down the street. And so much better. Burger was still hot through and through. Cooked perfectly. Love skinny fries and cooked to perfection. A tad bit too salty. They have a honey mustard that is was top notch. Service was superb. This is my go to spot whenever I am in the Pickens area. The food is good and their prices are reasonable with great daily drink specials. I've had their appetizers, sandwiches, burgers and salads and all were tasty. My favorite is wing night Tuesday. They have a wide assortment of flavors for $.75/wing. The service has been very good except for once on a night they were very busy. The atmosphere is casual and you can shoot a game of pool while you wait on your order. This place is the best for drinks, a meal and conversation with family and friends. I'm not sure if they have more TV's in their upstairs area but downstairs would not be good if you are looking for a place to watch the big game. read more

Passing through town and stopped here for lunch. We had a super sweet server and the food was delicious. I had their Ruben sandwich, kids had wings and husband had a grilled chicken sandwich. I have to admit this was a surprisingly nice find. Great prices. The Southern burger and Cuban sandwich were fantastic. My cocktail was admittedly just ok. The atmosphere was nice and laid back. It does take a while for everything to come out, so prepare to spend some time there. Wait staff was small but nice and gave good suggestions. I particularly appreciated that no one was rushing to get you out the door. I feel rushed at most restaurants these days so being able to sit and enjoy the meal with a friend was lovely. If you sit near the pool tables just be cautious. A young man launched a cue ball a few times. All in all a good experience. I will definitely come back. read more

I've been here twice now and I've fallen in love with the Burning Brick Burger! I think I could eat one almost every day if I just lived closer. Bacon on a burger is always a good start, but the pepper jack cheese, well seasoned patty and Smokey flavor make this an awesome burger! It's not dry and over cooked like some. The sweet potato fries were also wonderful, though I wasn't as pleased with the homemade potato chips. Service was great both times and if you need more ambiance than a pool hall, wait until 5 and go upstairs. What can I say - it IS a tavern, after all. Go get addicted (to the burger). Have to change my rating based on my most recent visit. This time the burger was dry and less flavorful than previous times. Cool atmosphere to hang out and have a few drinks but the food is nothing to brag about. I know several that like to hang out there just to get hammered. Prices are high for what you get in return. I had high hopes when they 1st opened but the best thing I could say about this place would be they have an actual "real" bartender. Knowledgeable on a variety of drinks and they are made correctly, also clean, polite and positive attitude. The food was GREAT. Escaped for a quick date night and was initially concerned when we went into a mostly empty restaurant around 7:30 and were asked if we were "looking for someone." Uhh... no, but we would like a table! That's when I spied an upstairs seating area and we went up there and sat ourselves. The waitress was nice and helpful and we ordered the Burning Brick Burger and the Last Burger and enjoyed them tremendously. The music was country-rock-pop that got progressively worse as the night went on. My husband believes they play bad music to encourage people to play their own songs on the pay per jukebox. I agree! We will be back, but with the expectation that we will need to seat ourselves upstairs next time. (And maybe bring some headphones or extra cash for the jukebox!) read more
