they want your money only. I have been in to see Jen Kalata multiple times for the same issue. the antibiotics I need are on file and she told me I could call it in next time since I'm temporarily out of state. I called; she's not in, so no one will treat me. I have to go to an out of town doctor and start all over with the process. I will have to spend a ton of time and money to get what I need, and by the time I get it, I will be twice as sick. why? Because I can't physically go in to see them... the money for a doctor visit..... I can't even get a televisit.... It's just... no, sorry. read more

My family was with Inkwell since its inception. We had received good care there until the provider we were assigned to left for another opportunity. At that time we were unceremoniously dumped from the practice with minimal communication and left to scramble for other health care. The way Inkwell has handled this has been almost comically bad; even when they eventually replaced that provider they didn't get in touch with former patients to take them back on board. Years of continuity of care and trust was dismissed. I would never go back to them, knowing now what their business practices are like. read more

My family and I have been seeing Dr. Martin Hurtado since before he opened his own practice--based upon his personalized and caring service, I also encouraged my mother to switch. Mom is a woman of rather exacting standards, and she has never once looked back. I'm exceptionally picky about my medical care, having had some bad experiences in the past. I trust Dr. Hurtado and FNP Schmidt implicitly and have only had good experiences with them. What makes Inkwell Medical so amazing? First, the business model is not based upon maximizing numbers of patients with Dr. Hurtado or FNP Schmidt churning through as many patients as possible. They listen deeply because they have time to do so. As a family practice / general practitioner office, the other thing I have appreciated is the high quality and kind staff, including nurses. Tired of pediatric nurses who are grim due to high numbers of kids being churned through the practice? Give Inkwell Medical a try! Do you have Spanish-speaking family members? Good news, Dr. Hurtado and a number of his staff are fully bilingual! Finally, I don't know for sure if their practice is currently taking patients or not, and I also know that most practices have to balance the numbers of patients they can take who are billing to OHP or Medicare--I saw the negative review from someone who was not accepted as a patient and cannot help think that perhaps this might have been the issue. I've run into this same "We have to confirm your insurance" from other practitioners, and likewise been rejected--I do not use OHP, so this can happen to any of us. I'm not sure I would base a negative review exclusively on that. TL;DR: I love Inkwell Medical Group! read more

I love Inkwell Medical! Eva Schmidt is the best FNP I've ever been to. She deeply cares for her patients and takes the time to talk with you about all of your concerns. Her support staff is really on top of things and also care that all patient needs are met. I am really pleased with my first visit with Eva Schmidt FNP. I really liked her conversational interview style, very easy to talk to and it was collaborative. I did not feel pressured to get in and get out like some of the larger clinics in town. I really look forward to working with her. Our discussion has inspired me to make some needed changes as well. One negative is that it did take several weeks to get an appointment. I don't know if the gentleman was on vacation or if this is the standard process. However, even with the wait, it is worth it. read more

I have never felt compelled to write a review about a business until now. Inkwell medical group was Referred to me by a friend and I am currently looking for a new primary care provider. Today was my third call to try to schedule an apt and still no luck . I was encouraged after reading about the doctor and his practice on their website which does elude to the premise of them still accepting new clients . The first phone call was promising , the receptionist acted as though he would be able to get me in but when he asked what I would like to be seen for ( a routine physical) he then proceeded to tell me they were in fact not accepting new clients. Hmm weird .. Second call, I though I might try a few weeks later to see maybe if some how he just mis understood what I was asking to be seen for, and this time I got a young women whom my first question to , was is your clinic accepting new patients? She said yes and asked if I had insurance and which carrier . To that I replied yes. She said it shouldn't be a problem but that she would need to get back to me in a few days to schedule and apt and confirm my insurance. What's wired to me is I have never had a doctor want to confirm insurance before seeing me. So I waited two days, no return call. Processed to call for a third time and was told I was still on their list and they are still trying to decide whether or not they can schedule a apt for me. I have great insurance , I don't understand why they would be giving me such the run around. Either your accepting clients or not and it feels like they are picking and choosing apts to better serve them not the health and well being of prospective clients . read more
