A bit to sweet and bubble gum taste
Lynn C.

The food is good lacking a bit of flavor. Portion size is great. Ladies are friendly.

Ceviche Mixto
Ashi F.

I was walking determinedly. Ignoring all the DTLA was offering. I was on a mission: find and try authentic and tasty ceviche. I marked my spot with a big X - Inka Wasi. And boy was I surprised! The mixto ceviche was delicate with thin slices of squid, shrimp and fish all swimming in a citrusy Leche de Tigre which is a spicy and acidic Peruvian marinade made primarily from lime juice, fish juices, onions, and chili peppers. The aji Amarillo topping it all added to the wonderful tang of the dish. I'd that wasn't enough, the choclo, the Peruvian corn was hot, and chewy. The perfect hot and the perfect chewy. Just enough to offset the coolness (both in temperature and texture) of the ceviche. I may be strange that way but I really don't tolerate monotextural and monotasting dishes. The "stuff it all together in one pot and cook it till nothing can be distinguished from anything else" is just not to my liking. This is why the ceviche was so successful in my mind: it combined temperatures, texture and mouth feels. Each unique. Each contributing to the overall bite sensation. A simple dish, elevated. Then came the platanos. So many times I have to stress "maduro!" Soft. Ripe. Well done. Not here. The platanos came out perfectly. Just right. With tiny bits caramels on the outside and perfectly soft on the inside. A great companion to the ceviche dish, adding depth and flavor. Ambiance is basic, with red and white uncomfortable metal chairs a-lá IKEA style, and basic tables. Not much to enjoy but I'm here for the food not the good ol' red, white and more white! It's counter service that came with a soft smile. How pleasant!

Soup

I got sick and didn't have any soup at home, so I ordered the Aguadito soup. It was extremely delicious, and helped me to get well! The price was very reasonable. I got 2 soups for $15 with tax (although it's probably cheaper away from Uber Eats). The soup was very colorful and flavorful, but my only complaint is that there could have been more chicken. It felt like both bowls only had one piece of chicken each. But outside of that, it was pretty solid! I can't speak to the service and ambiance since I didn't dine in, but everything was securely packaged and still warm when it made its way home. I look forward to trying more items from this place! I only heard of it because I searched "soups" on Uber Eats. That's not even their main dish, so I'm excited to see what else they have to offer!

Good and decent Peruvian spot in DTLA. Going in, the staff took care of me and were pretty friendly. I took my number and chose a seat and they would bring my food to me. I got the Lomo saltado and it was pretty good and flavorful. The steak wasn't tough which I appreciated. I wasn't the biggest fan of the large amount of onions in the dish. I was surprised that the fluffy rice was seasoned and garlicky which I liked. The potatoes soaked up the flavor, but I wish they were crispier. Maybe double frying them would make them better. I smothered everything in the green sauce which elevated the dish and provided a nice kick to everything. I also liked the complementary chicken rice soup that I got which was flavorful and had rice and veggies in it. Everything was solid other than the price. The Lomo saltado was a decent portion, but $18 for the size was too much. The can of inka cola that I got was also overpriced, at $4.50 a can. I also did not like how the prices for many of the dishes weren't displayed on the menus.

Chicken embozado

Still friendly service and amazing food. Everything is cooked fresh and price is very reasonable for the massive portions. It's pretty healthy too. There's only one dish that has a little sugar - the pollo picante. Can't go wrong with the embosado though, ive had w both steak and chicken and i actually think the chicken is even better!

Aguadito Soup

I got sweet potato fries and the rice chicken soup . The fries were really good but skimpy portion. The soup flavor was amazing but also skimpy there was one piece of small chicken in it . It was mostly rice I paid $16.19 for 2 small soups and a side small sweet potato fries. I would try again but not the soup or maybe just ask for them to not be stingy with the chicken.

Inka Wasi is a great little spot in dtwn LA. Stopped late later in the evening as I was visiting town and needed a quick sit down place. You can order to go or order and they bring it to your table. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The menu on the wall does have the prices. We settled for some pollo a la brasa, lomo saltado y yuca a la huacaina. The food was good, portion was good too. If yij are in the area and want a good Peruvian bite def stop by.

Had a sudden craving for lomo saltado and decided to checkout Inka Wasi. Restaurant is spacious and staff were friendly! + Lomo saltado 4/5: Beef was tender and juicy, veggies were soft, and garlic rice was well-seasoned. It was a very hearty and flavorful meal. The complimentary soup was surprisingly tasty as well. It was big portioned so I ate the second half the next day. I will definitely come back!

Great flavor in soup
Danny M.

Not bad, not the best Peruvian I've had. Lomo Saltado had nice flavor but was a tad light on the sauce (which I like to mix with the rice). Rice had good fglavor as well. Balance in the Lomo Saltado was a little out of proportion as well, meaning, not too many fries in the mix. Wouldn't liked the tomato's chopped up a bit instead of whole slices. The Aji sauce (which I essentially spread over everything) had a slightly chunky texture and was also slightly bland. The cilantro chicken soup was really nice. Might be back, might not.

We came here after a workout and I hadn't had Peruvian food for a while so we decided to try this instead of going to Chipotle. The appetizer soup was good, it tasted like rice congee! The fried rice with minced beef tastes exactly like what my grandmother used to make. Yellow sauce plate looks great and resembles a Thai curry dish. It's definitely worth a try. Overall, it was a great find, and I'd definitely come back for more. Who knew Peru had a Japanese president? I didn't know that! Fun fact of the day.

The food is ok. I tried it because I was told the chicken was good but it was ok. The only part that I don't like is the parking.

When I finally logged into Yelp to do just that, I was genuinely saddened to see that this place has since closed. It honestly broke my heart, because this was one of those dining experiences that truly stayed with me. From the moment we arrived, the ambiance was stunning--beautiful rooftop vibes, warm energy, and a space that immediately made you feel like you were about to experience something special. The food itself was absolutely phenomenal. Every dish we tried was thoughtfully executed, beautifully plated, and bursting with flavor. You could taste the care, creativity, and intention behind each bite. The Peruvian inspiration throughout the menu was both authentic and elevated, striking the perfect balance between comfort and sophistication. One of the most memorable parts of the experience was the chef herself coming out to introduce herself. She was incredibly kind, welcoming, and passionate. You could tell she truly poured her heart into her food. She took the time to explain the inspiration behind the dishes, and it made the entire meal feel even more meaningful. That level of personal touch is rare and so appreciated. Looking back at these photos now just reminds me how special this place was. Delicious food, a talented and thoughtful chef, and an overall experience that left a lasting impression. It's such a shame this spot is no longer around, because it truly deserved all the love and recognition. If the chef ever opens another concept, I will absolutely be first in line. Thank you for such a memorable meal--this is one I won't forget.

The Yuca Fries are a must! Fried and topped with chorizo. All of the sides sounded really good, but these are the best! The thigh meat chicken skewers are perfectly sauced, and can be ordered as an appetizer to be shared by two. All of the main dishes are meant to be shared. The prices are up there for the portions, but it's all a real treat for the taste buds, and the view is great! Highly recommend.

They do not mess around with their portion sizes! I got the lomo saltado and that could literally be split between three people. Even though I don't really drink soda, I had to get the traditional Peruvian Inca soda which pairs so nicely with the food. They also start you off with the fresh yummy bread and butter. The staff is very sweet and the service is really good. The prices are extremely reasonable, especially considering the portion sizes. Dried bread and dipping sauces were brought while we perused the menu. Our food came quick. First was the chicken soup we ordered as an appetizer. It was delicious! Warning - the red salsa side dish is super hot. We tested it first, added a small splash, and loved it. Next was a sliced beef and marinated onion sandwich. It was well filled and really tasty, our favorite of the night. The green salsa that comes with it is a perfect compliment - savory and spicy like a molé, but not too hot. We will order this again. Then came the beef heart, not a dish for everyone, but a personal favorite. Seasoned with a great dry rub and cooked on wood skewers, it was on par with the best yakitori I have ever had. What made it even better, however, were the sides. The hominy was perfectly chewy and seasoned. Mixed with the green salad, the potato chunks, and some of the green and white dipping sauces, well, it was an excellent compliment to the dense beefiness of the roasted heart chunks. OTOH, the salsa that comes with the beef heart, while full of chopped scallions and such, was far too sour for my taste. It was like pure lime juice. I tasted it and set it aside, only adding a few bits into my mix of sides. The final nice touch was the price. Total for three dishes was $40 before tax and tip. We will be back. The closest public parking lot is a couple blocks to the north, but we found a metered spot right out front. I didn't like that the meter needed a credit card or app, but that's the way things are going.
