I can't say enough great things about Kevin and his shop…read more ALL the guys are super friendly, professional and make the environment very comfortable. Kevins work is amazing and he is an amazing artist. He's been doing some corrective sleeve work for me and I couldn't be happier. I've sat in a few different shops and Iron Hand is in a league of their own! I would be comfortable seeing ANY of the artists who work in the shop! They also take walk ins I learned so if you aren't sure go check them out and I guarantee you will be glad you did!

I finally started researching shops this summer and Iron Hand Is about two minutes from my house and had amazing reviews, so I went ahead and booked. I couldn't really remember what to expect from my first tattoo, so I was excited, but a little anxious. Maegan was amazing from start to finish. I sent her some ideas the day before and when I went in, she was patient and it was clear she wanted me to be comfortable with every detail. You can see right away from the vibe of the place that it is just somewhere fun to be and you quickly feel relaxed and comfortable. There were several other tattoos going on at the same time and all the artists were so professional and kind. It's been a rough summer, so in addition to being completely ecstatic about how it came out, I feel like I needed that two hours to just take in the positive energy. From the reviews, I was confident that it was going to be a good experience, but it far exceeded that and I'm already planning for my next one! Thanks Maegan!

After about a year of going back and forth, I finally decided to get my first tattoo. I did some…read moreresearch to find a place near me, and came up with Phoenix Tattoo. After further investigation, I decided to go with Rhiannon who is a true professional and been in business a long time I was very glad that I did. I found a design that was a nice tribute to my Mom, and Rhi made it a reality. It looks even better than it did in the print that I saw. Everything was done with minimal discomfort, beyond some minor pain that went away by the next day. The healing process went very well. I'm not sure when I will get another tattoo, but I will gladly return to Rhi and Phoenix Tattoo when I'm ready.

I had a phoenix tattoo done using reference artwork that showed the direction I wanted. The…read morefinished tattoo ultimately landed quite far from that original vision. I lived with it for some time before reaching back out to the original artist rather than immediately taking it to someone else. We met in person and had what I thought was a very honest and productive conversation. We compared the original reference with the finished tattoo, and the artist acknowledged that she had been burned out and not herself when she did the original work. I genuinely appreciated that honesty and was encouraged when she offered to redesign and rework the piece. After several rounds of communication and design work, we eventually discussed the cost of the correction. Her current rate is $175 per hour, and she offered to perform the rework at her former rate of $150 per hour. I explained that I was completely comfortable paying for any new work or expansion beyond the original tattoo, but given our conversation and her acknowledgment of what happened with the original piece, I did not feel comfortable paying $150 per hour for the entirety of the corrective work. I asked whether there could be some distinction between correcting the original tattoo and the additional work I was requesting. Her response was simply that the $150 rate was already below her current rate. When I respectfully declined to move forward under those terms, the response was, "Ok best of luck!" I don't expect an artist to work for free, nor did I ask for that. I was willing to pay for the substantial new work involved. What disappointed me was the way responsibility for correcting the acknowledged problems with the original work was ultimately handled. Tattooing is permanent, and how an artist responds when something doesn't go as intended matters just as much to me as the work itself. Unfortunately, this experience changed my opinion considerably, and I will be having another artist rework the piece.
