After about a year of going back and forth, I finally decided to get my first tattoo. I did some…read moreresearch to find a place near me, and came up with Phoenix Tattoo. After further investigation, I decided to go with Rhiannon who is a true professional and been in business a long time I was very glad that I did. I found a design that was a nice tribute to my Mom, and Rhi made it a reality. It looks even better than it did in the print that I saw. Everything was done with minimal discomfort, beyond some minor pain that went away by the next day. The healing process went very well. I'm not sure when I will get another tattoo, but I will gladly return to Rhi and Phoenix Tattoo when I'm ready.

I had a phoenix tattoo done using reference artwork that showed the direction I wanted. The…read morefinished tattoo ultimately landed quite far from that original vision. I lived with it for some time before reaching back out to the original artist rather than immediately taking it to someone else. We met in person and had what I thought was a very honest and productive conversation. We compared the original reference with the finished tattoo, and the artist acknowledged that she had been burned out and not herself when she did the original work. I genuinely appreciated that honesty and was encouraged when she offered to redesign and rework the piece. After several rounds of communication and design work, we eventually discussed the cost of the correction. Her current rate is $175 per hour, and she offered to perform the rework at her former rate of $150 per hour. I explained that I was completely comfortable paying for any new work or expansion beyond the original tattoo, but given our conversation and her acknowledgment of what happened with the original piece, I did not feel comfortable paying $150 per hour for the entirety of the corrective work. I asked whether there could be some distinction between correcting the original tattoo and the additional work I was requesting. Her response was simply that the $150 rate was already below her current rate. When I respectfully declined to move forward under those terms, the response was, "Ok best of luck!" I don't expect an artist to work for free, nor did I ask for that. I was willing to pay for the substantial new work involved. What disappointed me was the way responsibility for correcting the acknowledged problems with the original work was ultimately handled. Tattooing is permanent, and how an artist responds when something doesn't go as intended matters just as much to me as the work itself. Unfortunately, this experience changed my opinion considerably, and I will be having another artist rework the piece.

Person who did the piercings took their time and made sure she positioned the earring just right. I forgot to use my coupon that stated it was good on earrings, and when I called they only applied it to the solution I bought. I was not happy about that. We spent over $400! They should have honored my coupon. Update: the coupon said it was good on any earrings. I knew it wasn't good on piercings but expected to be honored on the hundreds spent on earrings. This was the coupon!!!! Don't forget to treat yourself with 10% off on your first purchase. Use code: NEWFRIENDS10 Three of us had piercings, one love and the two others helix. Rowan has multiple locations in the United States. The first time I visited Rowan was this location…read morein the Garden City Center in Cranston, RI. I first became interested in Rowan, because I saw their earrings are all hypoallergenic and do not use brass, nickel, or zinc in any of their earrings. I have sensitive ears and am allergic to nickel, so I would always only wear pure 24 karat gold earrings which can be very pricey. Therefore, I wanted to try Rowan's earrings. The earrings are made of 14k solid gold, gold vermeil, 14k gold over sterling silver, and sterling silver and there are different designs-hoops or studs. I looked at the wall of earrings and I liked the 13mm Hoops made of Gold Vermeil. They also gave me a little box to store them. Staff were friendly. Also, all piercings at Rowan are performed by licensed nurses only and they do not use piercing guns, they use a special hand pressurized device that is fully controlled by the licensed nurses. I'm so glad Rowan made these hypoallergenic earrings for people who have allergies like me.
