I walked in to get a nose piercing but ended up getting additional piercings and he created the whole experience easy and seamless despite the place being super packed. It was so painful, but John made me feel comfortable getting this piercing and I will definitely be back for an industrial and a conch piercing. Critical: Professionalism, Quality Never want to go here again. Finger tattoo is legit falling off like a stick on tattoo. Had 2 other places look at WITH OUT me pointing it out and said it was done very incorrectly and that it looks like a kid drew it. With following the directions it should NOT be falling off but fading is normal. This isnt fading its falling off. Was offered for a "free touch up which they dont normally do" but why would i go back to someone who A. Did terrible and B. Also had very poor customer service. He was prickly and short with us. After searching for a tattoo artist I came across Ray Ce from Hold Steady Tattoo. I messaged him and he responded quick and he asked me to come in so we could talk about the tattoo I wanted. I wanted a tattoo of my pets on my arm. I had sent it to a few other tattoo artists and all of them did not seem to want to do it. Ray Ce was all game and loved the idea. I booked my appointment for the next week (which is unheard of during COVID times) and put down a 40$ deposit. I gave him some information on what I wanted in the tattoo and let him create it. He messaged me the next week with the sketch of the tattoo. It was absolutely amazing. You could tell he put a lot of effort into it and is a very talented artist. He explained that he made an entire other sketch and decided to redo the entire thing just because he didn't love it. That is the kind of stuff I love to hear from a tattoo artist. My appointment day rolled around and I came in and had a great conversation with one of the other workers while I was waiting about how much we love crocs. Ray Ce came out and then we went to his room and started. He printed out the stencil and was very precise and wanted everything to be perfect. We started tattooing and we had great conversation. The tattoo was painful don't get me wrong but Ray Ce made it as easy and tolerable as possible. He was very quick too. Came here earlier this year to get a bad piercing removed. Someone else had pierced it and there were a multitude of things wrong with it altogether. When I went here I was a walk-in and couldn't stand having it in anymore. I forget who helped me but he was very nice and courteous, he promptly helped me and got the job done as quick as possible so that way it didn't keep bothering me. He didn't charge me anything for the work and was very nice and told me what I needed to do from here on out with it. It's scarred from the piercing now, but from the interaction I had here they were very good and I recommend them for the piercings. Can't speak on the tattoos though since I have no experience with them on that. read more

Got a lip piercing here back in June by someone who did not know what they were doing!! Paid full price, called that piercer multiple times about issues I was having with it, came back in and had her change it out for me bc I thought maybe the jewelry was the issue. (then she gave me the wrong jewelry, put it in for me and charged me twice but that's a different story) Turns out nope! The two girls who are or were working there aren't supposed to be doing piercings!!!! But that didn't stop one of them from piercing my lip for full price without telling me any of that. I've told the shop owner and he offered to redo the piercing for me, and i do appreciate that. But personally healing a mouth piercing is a lot of work and it finally just fully healed to the point where I can use rings, and with a ring the crookedness isn't as noticeable. I asked if I could possibly get my septum done instead, I even offered to pay the difference. But I got accused of lying before he even had a chance to check the footage. I understand that owning your own shop is hard and you gotta be careful, but I was nothing but understanding and asked multiple times if there was any way I could help prove my story, the multiple phone calls I made to the shop, the witnesses, ect. Either way, the whole call left me with a bad taste in my mouth. I got told my story didn't add up, that "she wouldn't do that'' even though he said himself she doesn't work there anymore bc SHE SCAMMED HIM!!! Yeah, sounds like maybe she would. I get you don't wanna believe that your employees would betray you and disobey you in this way, but this is something I've been on and off contacting this shop about for months, throughout the healing of my jank piercing, and now that it's healed. I communicated everything I could, but each time I called the shop, that girl picked up and told me she'd take care of me. It seems there's something going on behind the scenes with this shop. Lack of communication, or lying, I don't know or care, but it ended in me paying full price for a piercing that was done incorrectly and for all I know, by someone who might not even be certified! I don't even want the septum anymore, I'm sure I can find a trustworthy shop elsewhere that wont give me issues. It's just a shame bc I was very loyal to this piercing shop after having John do my first lip piercing, I would recommend it to any friends looking and went there for all my jewelry. but with my recent experience and some dark rumors i've heard around, this place might be best off avoided. read more

I could not be happier with the tattoo I got from Dennis Cooper at Hold Steady Tattoo! Dennis made sure the placement was perfect. When I said it was good, he knew it could be better, and did a second outline. He was right, it was better! Great conversation the entire time, lots of cool art on the walls, and good music, made what should have been a nerve racking experience enjoyable. What a great place!!! The first thing you notice when you walk in is how clean, organized, and welcoming a place it is. I felt totally comfortable there. Then you meet the staff. Great bunch of people. I had Derek do my very first tattoo. All I can tell you is I absolutely LOVE this guy. He is so talented; but beyond that he is a real sweetheart and very caring. I love the dragonfly he designed for me and tattooed yesterday. Everyone who sees it loves it. It's a real work of art. I can't recommend this place more highly. I'm going back very soon. Went with my friend to get piercings and John was great! He's very funny and really helps calm your nerves if you're nervous about getting pierced.
