Awful customer service and work never was done properly. I have been communicating with them since January and I never heard back.

I had very good experiences with all the employees at InHouse, but Nathan deserves extra credit.

I am sharing my personal experience with TJK regarding a large outdoor lighting project. While the…read moreinitial installation was completed, the process was highly frustrating for several reasons: Scheduling: In my experience, communication was very difficult. There were at least five instances where I was told he would show up, but he did not appear or cancelled late. When he did arrive, it was often at irregular times, such as 3:00 PM or 4:00 PM, and on one occasion, he worked through the night to finish to 95% of the project. Follow-up: After the main 95% install, it took 56 days of repeated follow-up requests to get him back for punch-list items, including above no-shows. Repair Costs: A few weeks after install, a section of lights failed due to an animal chewing a wire. I was billed nearly $350 for this specific repair, which I personally found to be a very high price for that type of service. Billing: While I found him very slow to respond to service requests, the outreach regarding immediate payment of the invoice was, in my opinion, disproportionately persistent. His contract actually did state a $150 fee if not paid in one day, which I find to be unreasonable. Based on this experience, I would not choose to use this service again.

I found Travis on Thumbtack. I needed two hard wired ethernet runs done on my house. He quoted me…read more$200 per run for a total of $400 on the phone. He arrived at my house and installed both runs. One upstairs, and one downstairs. He had to run the downstairs ethernet on the outside of the house because keeping it inside would cost a lot more and take a lot more time. He did a speed test on the ethernet downstairs, and it got 1000mbps. So far so good. He did a speed test on the ethernet upstairs and it only got 100mbps. He didn't know why. He had to leave early and told me he would return another day to fix it. He comes back two days later and runs the speed test again. It's still at only 100mbps. He's unsure of what's happening. He tells me he's going to Home Depot, and I tell him ok. He returns shortly thereafter with a new cable and completely replaces the upstairs ethernet cable with the new cable. He runs a speed test again, and it's still only 100mbps. Curious as to what's causing it, he unplugs my router and plugs it back in. Does a speed test again, and now the ethernet cable is getting the 1000mbps it was supposed to. I'm happy he fixed the issue. We go out to my driveway so he can send me an invoice. While we're both standing in my front driveway, he sends me an invoice via text message. I open it on my phone, and instead of $400, the invoice is for $668.92. When I asked him why there was a discrepancy, he states it's because he had to purchase a new cable and replace the cable he first installed. He said it was my equipment that was causing the issue and not his. I told him this wasn't fair because A) he never told me there would be any additional charges before he performed any additional work, and B) a 100mbps ethernet run was not the service I paid for, and I thought he needed to do whatever was necessary to provide me the service that I paid for. His own terms and conditions on his website state that if additional work is required, it "...requires a written change order.." This was never provided. I told him I thought it was a pretty standard practice to inform a customer ahead of time if additional charges were required. I told him I would only pay him the $400 that he originally quoted me, and asked for a new invoice. He sends me a next invoice via text, and the new invoice is for $442 instead of $400. I asked him why this was, and he said he was charging me for the cable he purchased. I said I would only pay the original $400 that he quoted me and to send me a new invoice. He sends me a new invoice via text message that is now for $400, but it is showing as a deposit instead. I asked him why it was showing as a deposit and he said because I still owed him an additional $235.94. I was done with the conversation and paid the invoice for $400 as he originally quoted me. At this point, he calls me a "piece of s***." He says he's going to "ruin my credit" by reporting me to all the credit agencies and that "karma" will come and get me. He called me additional names for a few more minutes that I won't bother repeating here. He left. I sent him an e-mail telling him that I am disputing the $235.94 that he claims I owed him. Later that night, he sends me a formal demand letter via e-mail for the $235.94 and threatens to assess contractual late fees, charge me monthly interest, file a small claims action, refer me to a collection agency, and recover all enforcement costs. I ignored the demand letter. Approximately 6 weeks later, my downstairs ethernet stops working. I walk to the outside of my house where he had previously installed the ethernet, and someone had cut the ethernet cable on the outside of my house in two separate places. I would recommend staying far away from Travis and his company.

Customers sometimes ask for things that may solve a short term problem but creates another down the road. 1Control AV kept me from making a bad situation worst by first focusing on the network before making changes to the system. You know your network is solid when no one in your family complains anymore about their WiFi being down! Next we focused on cleaning up the mess the previous 4 dealers created. 1Control AV provided options with associated costs and we picked an approach that worked based on how we use the system. I have a home theater, distributed audio, integrated security, climate control and lighting. They did what they said they were going to do at the cost they said it would be. Very responsive even on weekends and after hours! The Control4 support center should have 1Control AV on speed dial! 1Control AV is my go to experts for Networking and Home Automation and I will definitely use them again.
