We usually use this grocery store when in town. I wish we had one closer to where I live. The store is organized and it's easy to find items quickly. The staff was so nice and helpful, definitely the small town family feeling though it's a chain grocery store. During this visit, I needed a specific cut of meat and they did a great job trimming it. Meat section was well kept and everything looked fresh. Also love the vanilla whipped cream on white cake from here too. It's very airy and delightful, always a good treat. Wish I had gotten the bigger sheet cake. Recommend if you need groceries. Such a great deli selection too! read more

My wife and I found this Ingles to be the best choice for groceries in Morganton area. They have an extensive choice of gluten free foods that are a must for our family. Not just a few items but a whole aisle dedicated to GF. Some stores we have to pick up the items and read the label to determine whether they are GF or not. Employees were very friendly and helpful! Store is easy to navigate and find items you are looking for Some reviewers disagree but I stand by what we have experienced here! Still love this Ingles but I wish it was closer to our cabin! read more

I love Ingles, wished there were more within the radius of the area. I remember when this particular location came to town back in the 90's, it was a game changer. I'm happy that this particular grocery store is still here and staying true to their roots. I shop here on a regular basis. It has a large quality selection of food and beer. There are many items that I purchase here that I know I can't get anywhere else locally. I looked at the other reviews and they didn't seem accurate, so I wrote my own. I always recommend this store to others when visiting the air bnb next door to me on Wilson creek. Wide isles, clean & well-lighted. Sani-cloths in the buggy area. Buggys in good repair, in three (3) sizes! An above average deli section including a salad bar that can only be described as phenomenal. The fish-monger was very knowledgable in his offerings and recommended preparation suggestions, as was the butcherman. This supermarket almost needs a GPS device on each buggy, yet the lay-out made good sense (no potato chips on the diaper isle!). It's a large store, and my being there upon the occasion of my first visit, I found it necessary to 'ask directions' in order to locate a couple of specialty items. On each occasion the employee encountered insisted that they lead me TO the item, rather than offer the usual 'general wave' that one sometimes encounters. Nice touch! Inventory is strong, with fully stocked shelves with strong ethnic, and speciality sections. Checkout lady and baggers were very busy, yet were friendly and courteous. Buggy corrals on each parking isle! This is a Class-A operation. I am continually amazed that one can visit rural areas in practically any region of our country and find incredibly well-stocked supermarkets with all-season produce sections, fresh meats, and fresh fish. My only fear is that some future generation will look upon our days with the same nostalgia as many of us hold for Camelot. read more

My family had a missing item from our groceries. When we called they said they were so busy at the time that it must have gotten missed and come by with the receipt for a replacement. When the manager was approached he was very rude and jerked the receipt out of my fiancé's hand. He then returned to say that everything was in the cart when it left the store and we needed to check our vehicle. He was advised that we did that. He then said maybe you should ask the other person what they did with it then or you gave someone free meat by leaving it in the car. He then walked off. He was completely rude and very disrespectful. My family works very hard and this country is in crisis. There is NO excuse for treating anyone like that! It may not make a difference but my family will no longer patron this business. read more

I pulled out the hummus I bought on Monday two days ago, and it expired last month. I called ingles and they said to please bring it in and we will refund you. I Told them the cucumbers were bad too, and how can they ensure the things they sell are not expired or rotten. The very pleasant customer service female said that she couldn't guarantee anything, maybe I need to write a letter. Good store, they sell seasonal bits like Halloween decor. They have a Starbucks within the market, and also sell groceries, drinks etc. Nicely set out, clean and not too busy. read more

I went to your Ingles and the girl that made me out had a bad attitude you know she yelled the price twice because I didn't hear her which was very embarrassing and when I called the unit to let them know, after I called about five times someone finally answered. The manager on duty named Joe come to the phone and when I told him what had happened well actually all I said was the girl on register six had a bad attitude all he said was I will take care of it and click hung up the phone did not ask what happened he was very rude himself. I know it's hard to find good help nowadays but this is bullshit. To have the register person and the manager have an attitude is not good for your business. read more

You had me at "Beer Section". Not only do they have a "walk in" section with kegs, but there's an entire wall and a half dedicated to foreign and craft beers. Much, much better selection than your typical Ingles. Maybe they have to "represent" since there's a couple of breweries in town. I bought way more beer than I should have, just because I knew I wouldn't find it anywhere else for that good of a price. Does not offer rainchecks. Even before the Pandemic they would supposedly be out of sales items but offer no raincheck. Sounds like false advertising to offer somethings at better pricing just to get customers in the store, then say "We're out" with no raincheck. This has happened to me several times with the last time being on "youhoo" drinks. I think the next time it happens; I'll just lave my buggy full & walk out. read more

The Starbucks inside Ingles Market is filthy. The tables are left dirty from the night before until late in the next morning...I go in early 7-7:15, and tables are dirty from previous night. The staff (at 7-7:15am) have dirty aprons that look like they have been worn several days. read more

This huge store is very clean, but not well stocked. They have a nice selection of organic and vegetarian options. The bakery, prepared food and produce sections are okay, but not great. The sour dough bread we bought was dry and gross. The three packages of mushrooms were almost rotten. The store brand products are very good and cost much less than the name brands. read more

This grocery store is the best in the area. A wonderful wine and beer selection, the walk in cooler is great. Wine selection is varied and some tasting reviews are also displayed. The only thing to look for is the vintage reviewed is not always the vintage sold. The deli section has a great meat and cheese selection. My favorite pre-made salad is the Rotisserie Chicken Salad. Yum! I have to be careful, a quick trip to the store can sometimes mean an hour+ because the store is large and I sometimes get lost. Thankfully, we have this store in Morganton. But I would love a local Fresh Market or Whole Foods. This is the next best thing. Bonus: Starbucks on site. read more

This is my favorite grocery store in town. I go here for the "atmosphere" more than the great prices, as it is generally a little higher than your neighborhood Food Lion. I enjoy the smells of the bakery and deli, and grabbing a cup of Starbucks is nice too. My only real complaint is the lineup of teens they have working the registers. The majority of them do not even acknowledge your presence. They have a conversation with one another, and it's usually something embarrassingly inappropriate to discuss in front of people. Unless you hold out your Ingle's Advantage card, they will not ask for it. They'll just let you pay the higher price. They will not bag certain items like fabric softener, six-pack soda, or the like, even though it will fit in a bag, if you do not catch them not bagging it and ask them to. Other stores at least ask, "Would you like this in a bag?" I realize it's not a teenage dream to work in a grocery store, but I happen to know that at least one of the managers runs a tight ship, so he should have a talk with them about the art of faking it. Spoiled, entitled brats ruin my shopping experience. read more

This ingles is the Best around!! It's the Best Grocery store that we have in the area! They are very clean and always have the best meats and produce, and the bakery is the best around. They always have everything that I need when I go there. They also have free WiFi, so if I ever forget a product that goes in a recipe, all I have to do is get on my iPod and look it up. And they have a StarBucks in the store! They have the Best Huge Fresh Muffins Ever in the Bakery!! We will always continue to go there. read more
