I did not go inside. I waited in the truck for my husband to get some camping supplies. What I can tell you is the parking lot was packed, so people obviously like shopping there. They had the firewood bundles we were looking for and plenty of marshmallows for s'mores. The parking lot is on a slope (it's the mountains after all), so make sure you keep an eye on your cart! I'm a new fan of Ingles. I appreciate the old school quality and selection. They have an extensive selection, quality meats, an old school deli like I remember growing up, better produce and a full stock of organics. What really struck me though was the floral. We celebrated m sister's birthday and I purchased a bouquet from the floral department. I'm still enjoying the entire original bouquet, two weeks later!! They're gorgeous and were a beautiful part of a celebration week. Kudos! I have now been visiting my not-quite local Ingles and had the same experience. I can get used to this! read more

The older lady at the turkey/ham counter is atrocious. If it's that big of a deal to shave turkey then just quit. Literally quit. If that's what a customer wants then so be it. I have to admit that I'd rather go to this Ingles than the one in Franklin. It seems that they have a better variety here. I've been shopping here off and on for about six months, and I'm beginning to find out where all the goodies are. So, if you're a newbie, realize that their brains may not think like yours. For instance, I would put every single gluten-free frozen food in the same place. But you will find GF pie crust right beside the regular gluten-filled crusts. Similarly, I found a gorgeous gluten-free cake close to the old favorite frozen Pepperidge Farm cakes and fruit-filled turnovers. (MAN, those were good; I miss them!) Some cheeses are found in the same area where veggies are, and some are all the way at the other end of the store, in the dairy section. If you LOVE you some Palmetto Pimiento Cheese spread, as hubby does, be aware that it is also on the last aisle in dairy, instead of on the back wall on the other end, where you will find Ruth's, etc. The staff are always friendly and helpful. I really have enjoyed all my interactions with them. The store is always clean, as well. Check it out for yourself! I think you'll like it. read more

Breakfast - bout 830 am It's not that everything was bad - eggs were runny and the grits were beyond bland. The breaded chicken tasted like fish. I think they did fish last night and deep fried breaded seasoned chicken in the used fish oil this morning. I had the wife taste it and she said "Ewwww fishy chicken". We were back on the road or I would have walked back in there for a refund from the mngr. We had the dog w/us and he refused it. I was astonished - completely. Bacon was good, sausage biscuits were good also. Had to go to the gas station to get coffee sorry to say. I really don't like starbucks super strong coffee. Too much caffeine and way too much sugar in most everything they make. I am not a millennial or 6 year old. I like food and drinks w/o all that sugar/fake crp. You NEVER use fish oil for frying anything but fish. Gross Fishy Chicken bleeeehhhh. Deli MNGR should ck into this. I promise others noticed the fishy chicken and might not come back. read more

Super niceee store. Really big. They literally have everything! So many options for organic food lovers. They have an amazing selection of hot food for lunch time (I've never been around for dinner time). What's even more amazing is the Starbucks inside of it. The Starbucks had a super amazing staff! Parking is available in front of the store. When I was there, they were doing some construction, but the store is still running its regular operations. The prices are not bad either. Of course that depends on what you are getting! I got a hot lunch one day. I got a baked chicken breast and wing, mac and cheese, mashed potatoes with gravy, and a roll for FIVE DOLLARS. This is the best overall grocery store in Clayton, they have a good selection of items and specialty stuff. They have a great salad bar and hot food items too. Alas they are also the priciest as well, but good things come at a cost. Get the staples at WalMart and do your splurge here. read more

More crowded than I'd like to be. I don't buy anything here that often unless it is on sale or if need to get some food for it snowing. Clayton is too busy for me sometimes, so I go to piggly wiggly sometimes because it is closer to home or I go to the dollar general. I hate lines. Just don't buy a to go plate there or get anything for the deli if it looks like it's been out too long. read more

Ingle's is amazing! The produce is extremely fresh, beer selection amazing, excellent meat department, and really low prices. Oh... and it also has a Starbucks, and a book section with leather chairs to sit and read in. What more could you want! We tried the fresh muffins in the bakery which were better than Starbucks (and I'm a die-hard, loyal Starbucks patron), and we loved the salad bar and wing bar. The whole store was really clean and we received incredibly friendly service every time we went, which is not always the case when you're visitors in a small town where everyone knows everyone else. I also loved the large movie rental department, which is a nice change of pace from a Redbox rental. We made the mistake of going to Walmart the first night we were in town and settled on some bad produce, among other things. We went to Ingle's the next day and the produce was cheaper and infinitely more fresh and had a better selection. I wish there was an Ingle's in my hometown! read more

I mostly use this store for the gas station out front. Usually the cheapest in the area. Getting into the parkingn lot the from the north, and exiting to the south can be an exercise in patience. read more

Terrible service at the fuel center. The older man who is always there is a jerk. I pressed the "help" button four times for assistance getting a receipt for my purchase. He kept resetting the button because he didn't want to even get on the intercom to ask if I needed help. I had to park my vehicle & take my three children inside to get a receipt. Never got a "sorry" or anything. Actually, he pretty much shrugged his shoulders when I asked him why he didn't help. Ingles, your people need some basic customer service training. read more

I love the fact that the Ingles in Clayton respects my freedom. While others may choose to wear masks, it is a choice that we each make according to our own medical needs and beliefs. The workers are very considerate of my choices and respect all of their shoppers whether we choose to wear a mask or not. Redneck-ville... adults and children barefoot in the store, emplyoees ignoring you while they chat with their friends and babies' daddies, and no one to be found for help in the pharmacy (during pharmacy hours). A bit too big for those like me who are disabled. That being said, is has a great deli, and produce section and just about anything you would want. Prices are decent and staff helpful. If i had any complaint it wouldnt be with the store, it would be the exit onto hwy 441. Extremely dangerous. Be careful. Otherwise been very satisfied. Please get more carts for those who cant walk very far. read more
