I am moving to Maryland from out of state, and I came up for a week to look for rentals. On Monday, TCA showed me a lovely townhouse that I thought was perfect. I was told that if I applied, it would only take a few days to run the application and if approved, we'd be good to go. That said, I applied as soon as I got home on Monday. I then called on Wednesday to check on the application and was told that it'd probably be done by Friday or the next week. So I waited until Friday and called back, and it was only then that I was told someone else had applied and been approved. Basically, I had been waiting all week for nothing. This is frustrating because I came from out of state, and I had sort of stopped looking once I saw this place; it left me scrambling to see other places before I left. This is my fault, of course, for not taking TCA's implications (i.e., that I could sign a lease once they approved my app) with a grain of salt. That said, TCA was extremely misleading in having me think for a week that I was simply waiting for my application to be approved when in reality, someone else had already applied and was in fact approved. Not to mention the application fee (for me and my husband) was $80, which I might have thought twice about paying if I'd known someone else had already applied before me. Overall, very unprofessional interaction with them. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt that they didn't do this on purpose just to get me to spend the $80 on the application fee, but I still have a very bad taste in my mouth because of all this. I would not recommend this company to any of my friends or family.

I have had issues like everyone else with something breaking (apartment living) but the front office keeps me informed as to when they will be in. The PM walks around , is friendly and knows what is going on. Not to mention she helped me get out of my rent hole and back on track. There is a sense of caring. I appreciate that when it comes to dealing with lateness and trying my best.

They have brought the quality of the area's to an all time low. Over physically been waiting 2 mos to get a leaky kitchen sink and broken shower fixed. Every time I go into the office the property manager pretends as though she is putting in a work order and no one had showed up yet. The machine team that wad here when I moved in was prompt and timely, I greatly miss that quality of excellence! I had another issue where a company they hired accidentally destroyed my property and is been 6 mos and still no resolution has been offered to me except more run around by the property manager. She's very good at deflecting issues while solving nothing. Whenever they improve their services I'll gladly give them a review they deserve but the headache is not worth the money you spend to live here.

I also renovate homes, so I am not uneducated in the realm of home repair. This property, in a desirable waterfront area, was our family home which we renovated top to bottom. Many contractors who did work on the property were very complimentary and several people said we would have no trouble renting it out. I spoke to Linda, the owner, at length before I signed the contract. Little did I know that I should have been taking notes and had those notes verified and signed! One thing that Linda told me was that she and her spouse also run a handyman company that does repairs at a reasonable rate. When a very minor repair was needed just prior to putting the house on the rental market, CPM denied making the statement about the rate. If they tell such boldface lies, what else is in store? Inexplicably, they did not put the property on the market for FOUR months. After one month of finally being on the market, they recommended a rental reduction. I asked to wait and, lo and behold, a desirable tenant signed the lease. Since the property sat for so long, landscaping needed to be done before move-in. CPM got a quote for over $200. I shit a brick and called the landscaping company, who obviously had no idea what the scope of work was. When I explained what was needed, the cost was reduced to $80. So, don't expect this company to work for your interest. Pre-move-in cleaning was also outrageous (and mandatory) especially considering that I had it cleaned when I handed over the keys four months prior. Heather (in the office) has been sometimes helpful and patient but there are questions that I've routinely asked again and again with no answer. I cannot trust this company at all and am biding my time to make the switch to another property management company.
