What I found was unacceptable. The home was listed for sale in a filthy condition with an overwhelming dog urine odor. The laundry room and garage, where the dog had been confined, smelled terrible, and the damage to the laundry room door was obvious. These were not minor issues, and there is no way they went unnoticed. The most disappointing part is the lack of honesty and communication. Had anyone simply told me the truth, I would have immediately approved deep cleaning and repairs instead of allowing my home to sit on the market in a condition that likely drove buyers away. After paying Chesapeake Property Management for more than two years, I expected my investment to be protected--not neglected. I have lost all confidence in Linda, Mary, and everyone involved in managing and marketing my home. As a military family, we depend on property managers because we can't simply stop by to check on our homes. I should never have had to travel across the country just to learn the true condition of my own property. It took them six months to find tenants for my property. I'm unsure what systems they use to do background checks, but it isn't good. The tenants only paid their first month's rent, and after that, they were late and never paid the full amount. Then stopped paying altogether. My biggest issue with HomeWorks is their lack of professionalism. It seems like they use a third-party receptionist, so you have to schedule a call with your actual property manager. The property managers constantly miss the scheduled calls, and getting information that should only take a few minutes can take days. To date, I have had eight missed meetings with Christine and Zaphyr. To make matters worse, the portal is never up to date, so you have to call to know what is going on with your property. It has been a complete nightmare working with this company. Save yourself the headache and find a different property manager.

TCS took over from the previous management company we had, & initially showed promising potential…read more Unfortunately very soon after we learned the lack of professionalism & follow through. From no heat for almost 2 weeks in the winter to no responses from continuous calls and emails, the list goes on. We have had an outstanding plumbing service request since Oct. 2025, along with 2 other service requests that were told aren't of importance. The company has continually via email pushed these requests off, & do not communicate well with one another as to steps to completion. Currently also ground water is seeping into our home, which we reported in June. TCS has yet to send a contractor to assess. We have sent multiple photos and videos to TCS, & only receive continuous excuses. I wish there was an option for 1/2 of a star...
