Since my last visit back in 2017, I believe, InFocus still haven't learned abstract doctor patient relationship. You do not work against the patients, you work with the patients to maintain strong relationships. I am still beyond baffled Dr. Lewis is still in practice. He's a womanizing idiot who doesn't bothered to do extensive eye exams. He doesn't understand basic DMV vision requirements which I have repeatedly met their minimum standard..Dr Sundy made a similar content stating I should not drive based on limited vision exam completed by a technician..Don't make those type of idle threats to any patients, problem solve first before making conjecture. My other doctor did an extensive exam and states for thr past 6 years I met the driving standards. I will never ever come back to a infocus unless there is a serious dressing down by all medical Staff.. read more

I was referred by my ENT for monitoring eye health due to medication I use. At check in I was asked if I wanted a new Rx for my eyeglasses & I answered yes. A technician did a cursory check of my peripheral vision, did the refraction check for new lenses, dilated my eyes & told me it would be about 10 minutes. Dr. Sundy arrived 45 minutes later, checked my eyes and was done. I shared my concern about macular generation as my mother had it. Dr Sundy said, "Well, we'll hope it skips you," with no reassurance about my eye health with regard to this disease. To top it all off, I paid $55 for my Rx, filled my Rx and had massive headaches. I returned to my regular optometrist with the new glasses and she found that the Rx was less power and less astigmatism correction than my previous lenses. Don't waste your time or money with this office. read more

Regular eye care and cataract surgery Dr Lewis is amazingly wonderful. He's so kind and takes time to explain things so I can understand. Love him as everyone does. Dr Alul did my cataract surgery and although considered a success ...my eyesight is ruined. Before the surgery I could see things close up but distance was getting tricky. The results were not explained appropriately to me by ANYONE. Instead of not needing glasses....i can't see a darn thing without them. The near vision is gone. I can't even file my nails and so many other things without them.I needed readers everywhere and my brain was confused and I was frustrated . I was told it would be better in time but it's not. Luckily Dr Lewis who gets a 5 plus came up with a solution that works for me...with very little distance correction and a lot of close up correction.I would have been lost without his help. My eyesight will never get better only worse with these silly implants. I'd never ever had done this if things were thoroughly explained. The review for Dr Alul is barely a 3. read more

After reading other reviews, I'm not alone. My very first glasses prescription experience was terrible. It took 9 months before I could wear them without head aches. My wife also had a glasses prescription filled and bought her frames from them and they sent her home with a stripped screw and the lenses kept falling out (the office manager claimed they have excellent quality control?-Really)? When I spoke to her on the phone she never took any responsibility for anything and just blamed the providers. The reason for the call was to see if they would work with me on my bill. My insurance stated that the charge exceeds fee schedule maximum allowable or contracted/ legislated fee agreement she would not budge on the price. My wife is an RN and a Patient Advocate and negotiates with doctor's offices and hospitals all the time. The doctors in the office are good. Suport staff are not. Last January they tested my eyes for glasses again I could not see very well during the test. She was rushing through the assessment and didn't take the time to do it properly. I mentioned this to the doctor( after my eyes were dilated) and she said that she could send her in to do the test again but my eyes were dilated so that made no sense. I brought these issues up to the office manager during my call and she simply minimized my concerns claiming the issue is mechanical (the glasses), but the assessments and incorrect prescriptions were not mechanical. I say three strikes your out. Epic fail........ I would not recommend this business to anyone. It's really important to have a provider that conducts their business with expertise, compassion and integrity. Pacific Source stated that this provider overcharged for the services and the services were unacceptable. The office should work with their clients rather than treat them disrespectfully. read more

This place is deceitful. We called to ask if my boyfriend's insurance covered a routine eye exam. Went in, did the exam and they sent him a large bill. After many calls and being transferred to other people it turns out they coded this exam as a "medical" eye exam as opposed to a normal eye exam. They refuse to be helpful and change the coding to where his insurance will cover it. It's unfortunate that healthcare providers take advantage of their patients. Yet another case where I have lost trust in a healthcare professional. It's the lack of integrity for me. read more

I went in for a routine eye exam. They informed me at the desk that my insurance would not cover the exam and it would be 150 out of pocket unless they found something to bill insurance for. No other costs were discussed. I had the exam and had no eye issues. Went to check out and they said my bill was 300! I was not prepared for that and was not informed of that number at any time before or during my exam. The bill was brought it down to 250 but I still feel this business has horrible dishonest business practices. I am really disappointed. Hope others don't get taken advantage of like I did. read more

I had an absolute 5 plus star experience at In Focus! I had lasik eye surgery back in December. The entire process leading up to it, the surgery itself and the treatment after has been amazing. Dr Alul and her help Racheal were professional and very caring. Staff as a whole were very friendly. Of course getting surgery is scary but the staff put me at ease and were so reassuring I felt good going into it. A month after my surgery I went to Mexico and then to Thailand. Traveling was a breeze not having to worry about my contacts and dirty hands/water. The flight to Thailand was 24hours and would have been awful if I'd been in contacts deals with taking them in and out. I can go to sleep whenever I feel like it and open my eyes in the water not worried about contacts!!! It's a freedom I never could have dreamed for! Thank you to In focus. read more

"Like going from VHS to 4k" This was my way to describe the difference I had just a day after my LASIK procedure at InFocus. I don't know where to start - was it Heather at the front being so kind and accommodating from the moment I walked in? Or was it Kylie & all the other assistants who made each and every visit friendly, amiable and (oddly enough) fun? Perhaps, it was Rachel, who was the best coordinator for my procedure that I could have ever asked for. She not only became my point of contact for all questions and concerns regarding the procedure, but she became a source of comfort and familiarity whenever the anxiety of shooting a laser into my eye started to cause discomfort. Patricia was definitely the deciding factor that brought the procedure full circle. Not only an unparalleled expert in her field - but always had a friendly and confident demeanor and an honest conversation with me regarding expectations, post-procedure discomfort, etc. You wouldn't go to a discount heart-surgeon, so why would you be any different when it comes to your eyes? I have friends who have gone "Groupon shopping" for Lasik and I can tell you first-hand, what you pay is what you get. At Infocus, I had 3 pre-appointments where three different assistants took all the same measurements. This way, as I understand it, there's minimal chances for anything unexpected to occur and to deliver the best results possible for their patients. The procedure itself was over in a breeze. Slight discomfort (obviously, I mean - it is a little overwhelming having anything done to the windows to your soul) but Mrs. Buehler and Rachel made the whole experience pleasant and I was at home, 10 toes up in a valium-induced euphoria in no time. The next day, I saw colors and definition that I never even saw with glasses. Now I can see 20/15. WILD! Anyways, can't thank the team enough for a truly remarkable experience. read more

I am writing this review of Infocus Eye Care in Bend, OR on behalf of my 90 yr old Mom, who is a patient of Dr. Winter Lewis. Dr. Lewis prescribed my Mom a very expensive brand name eye drop medication when a dramatically less expensive generic was available, sticking my Mom with a $261.00 co-pay. My Mom called Infocus to find out the reason such an expensive medication was prescribed and somehow the conversation became about my Mom needing to bring in what eye drops she was currently using, when it would be quite easy to simply look up her chart to see what Dr. Lewis prescribed. Not to mention, this has nothing to do with the cost of the medication! My Mom is also currently recovering from a broken femur, uses a walker, does not drive (nor does my Dad). Dr Lewis and his staff are well aware of this. It would be very difficult for my Mom to make a special trip to their office just to go over what eye drops she is using. My Mom was not informed of the high cost of this medication during her visit with Dr. Lewis before he prescribed it. He gave my Mom a sample size of the brand name med to try initially and during a follow-up visit was pleased with the results so he went ahead and prescribed the same full size medication, again without mentioning the high cost. I called Infocus myself to attempt to find out the reason such an expensive medication was prescribed and was told by Tana, the office administrator, that Dr. Lewis would not know how much my Mom's insurance would cover. Well anyone who has ever been seen by a doctor knows that brand name medications are always more expensive than generic. I checked with the pharmacist and was told the generic for this particular eye drop med was comparable and equally effective as the brand name med. As I was speaking with Tana, somehow the conversation went down the rabbit hole and we were suddenly talking about a med my Mom was not currently using, which again Dr. Lewis would know from his office visit with her. Needless to say, I got nowhere with Tana in attempting to resolve this situation. My Husband spent countless hours on the phone with the mail order pharmacy trying to get the whole mess straightened out. (To add insult to injury, the order was not filled properly.) I did not, nor did my Mom, appreciate the condescending and unhelpful way my Mom was treated, especially at 90 yrs old! I am 50 and the conversation with Tana at Infocus was completely about deflecting blame away from Dr. Lewis and not taking responsibility for Infocus Eye Care's actions and deceptive business practices. By the way, Mom's insurance covered approximately $400 of this eye drop medication! Based on this experience, my Mom will be finding another eye care doctor in Bend. read more

On the good side, I had a fantastic experience with Dr Alul. However, before meeting with her I had a standard eye exam. While the woman doing it was quite nice, I have never experienced so many problems/errors in an eye exam EVER. I would be willing to guess that was her first week/day ever doing exams. She had trouble using the equipment. She got very confused (wrong) between my right/left eye (which one is dominate, used for reading). I have zero confidence in the optical prescription written for me and will likely have to go elsewhere and pay again for another exam to get it right. It really was an unfortunate waste of time for the exam portion. read more

A positive experience with friendly and professional office staff. My interactions with the optics department, specifically Sandi Harrington, was extremely positive as she worked diligently to correct a mistake that had taken place prior. She went the extra mile to help me attain eyewear that I could use on a trip scheduled out of state and before my corrected lenses could be returned to me. It took multiple calls to the lab and brainstorming with her techs in order to get something that would work for me at least as a temporary fit. She maintained a professional attitude; never loosing patience and persevered up to the last hour making it possible for me to attend an important conference I otherwise would have had to cancel. It's one thing when everything goes perfectly, but when a mistake is made it's been my experience that that is when true colors are shown. I can't say enough wonderful things about Dr. Alul and her amazing staff at InFocus. She came highly recommended by my regular eye doctor, and did not disappoint in any way. I had refused to even consider LASIK in the past, despite a contact prescription of -8.75, because the thought of a laser in my eye was in no way appealing. However, an eye infection related to over-wearing my contacts prompted me to at least consider it... Dr. Alul and her LASIK coordinator, Rachel, quickly eased all my fears and made the process so easy and comfortable (including setting up financing at 0% interest), that I took the plunge. My vision is now a crystal clear 20/15, and I can't get over the miraculous feeling of being able to see without support. Technically the cataract surgery with Dr. Beuhler was successful, the lenses are in position and healed well. However, the experience was disappointing, and upsetting for me. Dr. Buehler recommended mono-vision and I went with her expert opinion. After my ordeal I read up on it and realized what went wrong. Dr. Beuhler skipped a step--she didn't offer the option of testing whether mono-vision would work for me. This would have required wearing contacts with two different focal distances to see if my brain brought them together, giving me clear distant and mid-range vision; all I would then need were reading glasses. I did not adjust to mono-vision. Without glasses I cannot see well at any distance. After I was told by her office that it was "as good as it would get" I went for a second opinion with a different Ophthalmologist to be sure nothing was actually wrong with my eyes, since I also was seeing blurry patches. This doctor told me she ALWAYS tests her patients to be sure mono-vision would suit them (and no, my eyes had not been damaged in any way). I finally settled on a third doctor as my primary Ophthalmologist, who is generous with the information I need and treats me with respect. I have to conclude that although Dr. Beuhler is an excellent surgeon, she lacks sound judgement and compassion. I would recommend being well informed about cataract outcomes before putting your trust in her. Eyesight is precious indeed and each person should be given every chance for a good outcome. read more
