We've used his help to work on different issues that come with buying an older house in Texas like retapping, painting and finishing walls, covering the patio, installing different doors and appliances and the list can go on. He will come over, assess and price the project and completion time and that's where your worries end. He doesn't charge for extra trips to stores or other dishonest ways other companies were squeezing every dime to increase your frustrations and bottom line. He is honest, friendly, hard working and efficient - trust me, after endless unfinished projects or poorly executed finding Brandon was a Godsend. I have recommended him to all my family and friends!

Not only were we very happy with the end result but we were impressed how the process itself went pretty smoothly. Brandon, the owner, is very professional and was really great to work with. He is very responsive and kept us informed each step of the way. He initially estimated that the projects would take 2 weeks, and they were able to meet that expected timeline, with even a few days to spare, so we were able to move in early. If we saw something that we weren't 100% satisfied with, he made sure they came back out and fixed it to our liking. I highly recommend Brandon and his team if you are in the market to do some upgrades to your home. Thanks guys!

I had the owner give me an estimate for another bathroom remodel since he was already there. He said it would be approximately $600. So, now I finally have the new vanity in my possession and called them to schedule the job. The lady in the office (Heather) told me that they now refuse any jobs less than $1,000. They wouldn't honor the original quote by itself, even though the owner of the company provided it while standing in my home. Against my better judgment, I asked them to come out and provide an estimate for some other work I know I want to get done...just so I can get the bathroom done. They only provide quotes on Monday-Friday, so I had to schedule the appointment between 3-3:30 pm on Martin Luther King, Jr. day. 3:00 comes, 4:00 comes, 5:00 comes, NO JAMAL. Finally, at 5:08 pm, I called and spoke with Heather regarding the situation. She appeared very surprised that he hadn't shown up and advised me she would call me back. When she called back, she said she had gotten in touch with Jamal and his car had (conveniently) broken down. The owner of the company never bothered calling a customer who has a paying history with his company AND who they're now attempting to strong-arm into authorizing a job in excess of $1,000. So Heather asked me if I wanted to reschedule and I informed her that I work during the week. The only reason I was able to schedule them on Monday was because I was off for the MLK holiday and that scenario wouldn't reoccur until the end of May (Memorial Day). Heather said she understood and was surprised and appreciative that I wasn't yelling and/or cursing at her given the situation. She admitted that she probably wouldn't have the sane self-restraint. She said she would call Jamal to see if he would just do the bathroom for the ~$600 he quoted me given the fact that they caused me to waste half the day. As you can probably tell by this review, I have not heard from Heather nor anyone else at Plano Home Remodeling since that conversation. I very strongly encourage anyone to do business elsewhere. If a contractor does a no-call, no-show for an estimate, what do you think he's going to do on a job? I wouldn't recommend finding out!

I'm, to put it lightly, a 'precise' person and have clearly defined, but very high, expectations. Chad and his team worked with us from pre-planning to architectural plans to constructions and completion in a way I could only hope for. This is our first house to build and I've heard a multitude of nightmare stories regarding cost overruns, change orders, poor scheduling and even worse from friends that have built houses and done major remodel projects and wanted to spell things out very clearly, from the beginning, to avoid as many of these pitfalls as possible. Before we made the choice to work with Hatfield, we interviewed his team as much as they interviewed us to ensure everyone knew what the process would be like and what everyone's expectations were. Throughout this process we've valued that everyone at Hatfield has not just, built what we asked for but offered recommendations, based off their experience, to ensure we would end up with the best final product possible. Everything has been a true calibration with the end goal being a beautiful and timeless home that was: on time, on budget and exceeded our hopes.

NEILSEN & his team…read more We looked online to find a good contractor. Neilsen had great reviews online and made our list. My wife and I reviewed website photos and impressed. We were being challenged to find a contractor in Texas. We'd purchased a 40 YR old home, out-of-state, online. We chose to rehab our new home, before we arrived. That was a big challenge for us, to find the right CO. Thankfully, Neilsen was there for us to find & speak with. He gave us all the time we needed for our question & answers. In the end, we ended-up comfortable because he invested time in us. That was confirmation for me. I contract as well, in California. That same trait is in my business, and Neilsen has it in his. Being out-of-state, he handled all the job details. We wanted our home complete when we arrived. That itself was challenging, but Neilsen came through. Our cross-country move worked-out perfectly! Neilsen hit the timeline right-on-time. Let me say from here, Neilsen is trustworthy. He promised his works would back his words. We're very thankful we went with Neilsen. We made all detail choices, from over-the-phone. It all went so smooth, it left us both completely impressed. Pictures online are one thing, but to see the work from UP-CLOSE, is another. We're impressed with how clean Neilsen's work is. Neilsen performed DRYWALL repair, new FLOORING, & PAINTING. The CAULKING LINES throughout our home, are perfectly straight lines. The PAINTING is phenomenal. I've found NO DRIPS, anywhere. The FLOORING and BASE SHOE are also perfectly installed. We're now in our home, enjoying Neilsen's work. Neilsen turned our home into a beautiful place to live. We're absolutely assured he'll do the same job for you. Thanks again, NEILSEN!! Vince & Alisha Fascio

LR may be good roofers (idk because I didn't use them for that) but don't hire them for anything…read moreelse. LR remodeled a bathroom for us which took 3x as long as they said it would. * Subs were unskilled, unprofessional, did not show up as promised and did a botched job on my bathroom * Incorrectly installed wall over a curb that should not have been built * Tile installation was crooked in areas and installed with rough edges exposed * Left gobs of grout on my shower floor that we cannot get up (see pic) * Got grout on walls that had to be sanded off and repainted * Horrible job caulking * Scratched my new granite vanity top * Did not lay down floor protection on my newly installed floors and scratched them in several places....one place is almost 3 feet long Oh they also left a toilet on my front porch...said they would come back and remove from the property but instead stuck it in my garage. Then they left the mess for us to fix/clean up. Tabitha told me they just do a "construction clean up" (sweep and take out trash) and they were "done" and "offended" with my complaints. I'm sure most of the problems were because they had no one on site supervising. They simply sent subs they could find whereever and hoped they would do a good job. The best part is even though Tabitha told me all along some of her subs were not doing a good job, she now expects me to pay full price for the botched job and wants to put a lien on my house even though I've paid half the amount and am agreeing to pay a fair final settlement.

I waited almost a full year to post this review so that I could wait and write a clear and concise…read morereview that wasn't shaded by disappoint or anger. So here goes: I preface this review by stating that I know that most renovations, if not all, run into snags. Delays, errors, miscommunications happen and is a regular part of the industry. I work in building products myself (14 years now) and have an understanding of the remodeling process. The TLDR of the following is: Do not proceed with 19Squared. The pitch is perfect, but delivery is lacking. Poor communication, poor craftsmanship, at a high cost are what we encountered. I reached out to three other remodeling companies, one I had even used before on a project, before choosing 19Squared. Scott Sefton is a very good salesman in the sense that he can gain your confidence quickly. He said when we first spoke that they are not the cheapest, but they do things right. He only made good on one of those things. I had a feeling things would go south when they showed up one day early than the scheduled date to start the project. From then on, we had to chase them down to get any information on what was happening next, who was doing it, and when were they going to do it. Turns out they only have one guy that they hire to do the bulk of the work post-demo or at least that was the case for us, and that poor dude is clearly spread thin. We were told our itty-bitty kitchen would take 3-4 weeks. It took 4 months. The communication with us as well as between themselves was just really bad and decisions were made that we didn't approve or have a change order for that resulted in more work needing to be done. I can handle a few snafus as long as there is an open line of communication and acknowledgement of the issues reported. Several times we brought up a problem, it was not acknowledged by Scott and he deflected and got defensive. He left his project manager, Joel, in charge of dealing with the issues, but it seemed like communication between Scott and Joel was not any better than their communication with us. Turns out that when you hire 19Squared, you are really hiring Fernandez Remodeling which appears to consist of 2 people. So, if you have two people running several jobs, I can imagine the quality of the work and the speed of the projects will suffer tremendously. At the end of the day, Scott is the salesman who takes your money and then you don't ever really hear from him again. Every time I had to contact him about something he would always say, "Oh we're ahead of schedule." But every time I asked him exactly what that schedule was, he deflected and it was not in the contract. Point is, there isn't a schedule. You are at their mercy, and they have all of your money. Once we discovered all the very expensive hardware we ordered was installed crooked on our cabinets, we had had it. This was AFTER other problems. We took the keypad off the door and sent them notice. From there we let them fix a few things, then gave them the boot. Afterward, we had our plumber come replace the cheap parts installed under the sink that kept leaking and have since finished some of the painting and other things on our own. We also had to get the grout entirely redone because after two attempts to grout the floor, the grout kept coming out discolored and uneven. We had to touch up all the walls and the paint on the cabinets isn't even. There are also blotches in the lower cabinet stain and a lot of drip marks from the clear coat. We discovered recently they installed the storm door upside down and threw out the magnets that were supposed to help keep it stay shut and one of the cabinets now has a crack in it. They have a 1-year workmanship warranty, but there is no way I am letting them touch a thing in my home again. It's a shame that we didn't get the same kind of professional treatment it seems other reviewers did. Presuming the authenticity of the reviews that is. We were led to believe that trades experts would be completing the job, but the result was a very expensive hand-man job and we still aren't done fixing things.
