Most guys want to…read morebe left alone so they can rush thru it, but Rock Star only schedules a morning and afternoon appointments , not because they are lazy, but because they want to take their time and do a thorough job. They also encourage you to go with them so you can ask questions and they can explain things as they go (to be honest, it saves a lot of questions when you get your report, usually that same day, but most importantly it makes you an informed buyer). We are purchasing a house that is only one year old, but there are many things to know and consider, from builder's neglect (like stuff that can fall into the plumbing) to owner's bliss, where they overlook issues due to it being a new home! In our case, knowledge is power and Rock Star's inspection not only gave us peace of mind for one of the largest purchases of a lifetime but also gave us ideas on changes and/or upgrades that we can/might do. Rock Star checks so many things (things you would never think of on your own), they are open and easy to work with. During that visit, he made unprompted remarks about my personal life that had nothing to do with the inspection. When I told him that his behavior felt intimidating, he responded that he had researched me on the "deep dark web." We then asked that our interactions remain strictly professional and limited to inspection-related matters, but he declined to agree to that boundary. The encounter left us feeling unsafe and deeply uncomfortable. We have since filed a formal complaint with the Texas Real Estate Commission (TREC) regarding this incident. It is our personal recommendation to stay very far from this company. Homeowners deserve respect, professionalism, and basic privacy when inviting someone into their home.

Janston was an absolute pleasure to work with on my home inspections (yes you read that right! He…read moredid more than one home inspection for me!) Requested an inspection quote through several home inspectors and although Surety wasn't the cheapest option, he wasn't that much more and was well worth the extra $30/$40. He was able to squeeze me in within 1-2 business days with both my inspections and as you know, time is of the essence when you are trying to do all your due diligence during your option period. He was always on time and extremely thorough and was able to return the full report to me within less than 24 hours on both occasions. On my first home inspection he did for me, Janston pointed out a previously existing window that was walled up from a major bathroom renovation that the sellers did. As a buyer, I did not notice this at all and because of his comment and observation, I did further digging and come to find out the full master bathroom renovation was not permitted! The unpermitted bathroom was not marked on their seller's disclosure either! This can be a major issue with insurance and resell value, so we decided to walk away from this house. Told the sellers and now this has become material knowledge so it is something that needs to be disclosed to all future potential buyers. That home is still on there market to this day! Second home, Janston discovered some hail damage and tiny holes in the roof that exposed the under decking. With that, we were able to negotiate a brand new roof replacement with the seller. Since a roof replacement is such a big ticket item that can affect your insurance premium, we were ecstatic that we were able to come to an agreement with the sellers to move forward with the deal. This was all with the help of Janston's thorough and timely inspection report. Final observation by me....and I might be canceled for this comment, but I don't care....Janston is tall and thin and I would think it would take a certain body type to be able to snake through small areas like an attic or under a home to get to the nitty gritty and do the job well. I recall another home we had purchased about 7 years ago and that inspector was "the opposite" body type from Janston and he had told us he does not do attics due to "liability" issues, which I completely see. So just some food for thought. 10000% would recommend Janston @ Surety. He was professional, answer all my serious and silly questions, on time, thorough and just overall had good vibes from the guy. I will trust him with any future home inspections and will happily recommend him to all my friends and family.
