I have been taking my cars to Rob & Barbara at Infinite Motion for years. In fact I will not buy a car (new or used) unless they recommend it and can service it. Finding them was like finding a great dependable trustworthy doctor. As all the other reviews state, they are the BEST around! Very knowledgable and always honest on what needs to be serviced. I had some issues with an older Civic a few years back, but instead of Rob doing the major work, that would have cost me approx $700-800, he recommended that I just check my fluid level every few weeks, fill if necessary, so then there would be no need to spend the money to replace the part. This is a long overdue review. This is the only place I will take my Acura or Honda to! The mechanics and shop owner are completely honest and do great work! They don't try to do any unnecessary work and truly have a passion for Hondas and acuras. I had my s2000 serviced with valve adjustments, brake system, plugs, and all fluids. Running like a beauty still a year later. Also brought my 1997 integra for full service, timing belt, brakes, plugs, all fluids, valve adjustment and runs perfectly. I decided to take my old Nissan to Infinite Motion about 2 years ago because my company contracts out the service of our company vehicles to them. It was easiest for me since Infinite Motion offers a valet service, where they come to work, pick up my car, and drop it back when the work is completed. Also, I figured that since they get a decent amount of business(~15 company vehicles + any other employee's personal vehicles) from my company, they would be foolish to take advantage of anyone that works here. What I came to find is that regardless of what they have to gain or lose, Infinite Motion will not take advantage of anyone. You have nothing to fear if you don't know anything about car maintainance. They have no interest of screwing people over. Only performing the work you request and authorize in a professional manner. The mechanics are knowledgeable and do quality work. The customer service is as good as it gets. The owner, Rob, is personable, and builds relationships with his customers. It's a family business, run by Rob and his wife (Barbara?) for 30+ years. They are honest people, but they only do basic stuff such as oil change and brakes. And they only do Japanese cars, and best at Honda. My 2008 Honda accord started to have some noise coming from under, and it went away when I step on the brakes. First I called Honda of Escondido, and they said I have to leave the car for the night for them to run any diagnosis at all, which doesn't work for me because my wife drove the car to work every day. And then I called Infinite Motion. Even on the phone, Rob has already diagnosed the symptom to be worn out brake pad. He said it's common on Honda because they use thin pad (so that you have to go back to dealer more often), and he saw this problem before. So most likely that is the culprit, but of course to be sure I have to bring the car in. When I asked him the earlier possible time, he said tomorrow morning. So here I came, and sure enough the rear brake pads were worn out so the metal clip was touching the rotor and hence the noise. When I step on the brake, the clip is pushed onto the rotor completely and therefore the noise goes away. He showed all this on another hoisted car so that I understand what he's talking about. And then he gave me a quote of $165 for parts & labor, which include two high performance pads for the rear (which will last longer than the Honda stock pad) and the labor cost. He told me it would take 1.5 - 2 hours, and recommended a shopping mall nearby for me to kill the time. I came back after two hours, and the car is waiting for me. The price is as estimated, $165. So no surprises. I also asked Rob to check the engine oil for me, since it's been 6 months from my last oil change (at Honda of Escondido) but the oil indicator still shows 80% (because our commute is short). Rob came back and said the oil still looks clear, and generally Honda dealer use high-quality oil so we can simply follow the oil indicator (i.e., the miles) rather than the time. My Honda 5-year warranty is coming up in August next year. And I think I've found the place to bring my car to. read more

Rob and his family are hands down the best people we've ever dealt with at a mechanics! They're incredibly knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly with a staff that really knows their stuff! I took my Saturn here for several years until I got rid of it a few months ago. The signs say Honda and imports, but they do a great job on all kinds of cars. The customer service is amazing and they are honest and reasonably priced. I never worried about being "sold" something I didn't need. They do thorough inspections and let you know if and when you need any routine maintenance. I have a new car under factory service so I am sad that I won't be able to go visit for another few years, but hopefully there will be plenty of other great customers who read this and go in my place! :-) read more

SUPERIOR work! TOTAL professionalism! Its almost as if you've taken a step back in time - where the customer actually came first. I was so happy with the results of the work they did on my Honda. I could tell right away that they did the work right. Not to mention, they even used official HONDA parts! That's very RARE at third-party shops - not to mention very expensive if you request it. These guys ONLY use official parts. -AND- This is the best part - they don't charge you an arm-and-a-leg like the dealer! They pass their savings on to you! Rob - the owner - he knows his stuff. He personally (not a service writer or receptionist) took the time to explain everything to me over the phone - before he even looked at the vehicle! I am not mechanically savvy in the slightest - but he described my engine specifications, the years it was produced, the other models of cars it was built into, and exactly what needed to be done to fix the issues I had. When you call other places, usually they try to rush you to "come on in" and then they shaft you once you're there and sometimes even steal parts or break other items just so you'll need more work later. Not this place! Rob and his whole crew are professionals! I dropped my vehicle off the night before my appointment as the engine had to be cold to do the work needed and I called the next day for a status update. Again, no rush to get me off the phone. Rob (again I spoke to the owner - HOW COOL IS THAT?!) was patient and went through every item they checked and how they were going to repair it or replace it or what had already been done. He asked me if there was anything else I wanted them to check and he didn't try to up-sale me on stuff that I didn't need. This fact alone is reason to go to these guys. I discovered Infinite Motion while reading all the bad reviews of the local dealerships in my area, and all the stuff I read about these guys was very positive. I like them so much, I dont mind driving the 30+ miles to San Marcos from where I live in San Diego, even though I have a Subaru dealership about 3 miles from my house. Their prices are very fair and the customer service is outstanding. The first time I took my car in was for a 60k service and the quote that I was given was what I ended up paying, and was about on par with what the dealer charged, but had the peace of mind knowing that they actually did everything that was supposed to be done at that scheduled service, and later on brought the car in to have some additional basic/preventative maintenance done (brakes, belts), and they were much less than the dealer, and are very honest. It's a family run business and everyone there is very friendly and knowledgable. I have total confidence in these guys and have recommended the shop to others and will be taking my car here exclusively for as long as I live in San Diego. read more

Good luck finding a better auto shop than Infinite Motion. I was referred to them through a co-worker. My car (a Subaru) is a little bit harder to find a mechanic because most import shops work on Honda/Toyotas, much to my surprise they work on Subaru's. My experiences with them were great, they did a great job, offer competitive rates on labor, pleasant to talk to/deal with, honest mechanics. This shop has the habit of figuring out the problem and fixing only the problem. Other shops (specifically dealerships) just start replacing parts without regard to costs to the customer. They offered to split the cost of a rental car for me when it had to take more then a day due to difficulty in obtaining correct parts, even though it was outside their control! I have been a customer of Infinite Motion for more than 15 years. I know both the owner Rob and his wife. They take GREAT cars of my cars and have helped me continue to drive my 1990 Accord today with over 267,000 miles on the original engine. They do great work and what is most impressive, have never done work that was not needed. Early on when I was new t the US I got caught by those shops that write up a laundry list of "you need this, you need that.." When I took that to Rob, not only did he not follow suit, he simply pointed out that these items were not needed and he would not perform any of them because they would waste my money. Now that impressed he, because it meant he stood to get zero out of that tranaction. The last time I was in Infinite Motion was last week when Rob extricated a dead rat from my serpentine belt.. I had my car transported from WI. It sat for 5 weeks & when it arrived in CA the brakes made a horrible noise. Infinite Motion put it up & removed all 4 tires. They showed me what had happened from sitting in WI waiting to be picked up. Test drove it, check air etc. & assured me it was safe. They recom. that I do nothing unless I wanted to spend $. They were honest & didn't want to take any $ for all the time they took. I got a few things fixed here including my head gasket on my Acura TSX. The mechanics appear to be sharp and meticulous. They answer all my questions really well, point out all my options on a repair, point out what I should consider getting done (such as things they spot during the repair), offer to show me first hand the issue for my own eyes to see to backup their points. There has been no sales pressure from them. Sometimes they put in extra time to check things thoroughly to make sure they are confident their prognosis is correct or a repair is performed correctly and fully addresses the issue at hand. Overall, they are technically great, straight with you, and focused on getting your car back in when everything is fixed to their high level of standard they set for themselves. What differs them from other garages is they are very meticulous and combined with their deep experience they are able to find things or adjust things that other can't or don't do. No evidence of lazy "short cut" type work here. I recommended them and will continue to go here. read more

Hands down this is the most reliable, honest and pleasant mechanic I have EVER dealt with! Rob came as a referral from some close friends who were also referred to him, so I gave him a shot. I was so impressed with the service I received on my 2000 Acura TL. Not only did they do the work that was requested (timing belt) but he noticed it was time for my oil change and the battery on my key fab also died. He charged me for the quart of oil and threw in a new battery in the key fab (no charge). I used to go to the Acura dealer but I felt like I was price gauged and normally told there was more wrong with my car than really was.
