Why 5 stars? Because we all enjoyed our time here…read more --- --- --- Our son is several levels outside of what you'd call normal. We discovered pretty early on that he had some developmental issues and needed speech and occupational therapy. We ended up coming to Riggs for a nearly 18 months and our son really loved it. He would routinely ask to go to therapy all throughout the week, even though our appointments were only on Wednesday's. The therapists really connected with him and gave us some good tips on how to best work on things at home. Ultimately, he was discharged from speech therapy first. We stuck around a for a few months and continued to do OT. The only thing we didn't love about our experience is that there were several issues with billing throughout our time coming here. Part of that falls on the insurance company for being so confusing with the way they label certain services, but I lost track of how many times we would receive pretty substantial bills in the mail because we had been under-paying. And this would happen even after we were re-assured that the billing situation was *definitely* under control. The truth is, we would do it all over again if we took a time machine back to when we first moved to the area. But if you asked me to prove that therapy was absolutely the reason his speech improved, I really couldn't say for certain. Maybe he just got older and more mature, naturally. Or maybe speech therapy was the main driver in everything. I really don't know. But as parents, you'd rather exhaust all of your options, rather than passively do nothing. And we're glad we chose Riggs for this very important need. Probably the best part about the experience were the therapists providing us with tips on what to work on at home. These were usually great tips and things we never would have thought about otherwise. I'd definitely recommend trying Riggs out if your kiddo could use help in these areas.

If you are looking for a high quality pediatric therapy provider for your child, then you really…read moreneed to get in touch with Open Door. I have two toddlers with special needs, who each need multiple therapies, and this place has been amazing for them. Jordan is the physical therapist on staff and I just can't say enough great things about her! She started working with my son when he was 1 year old and not able to even roll on his own. Now he is 2 and able to take steps while holding Jordan's hands! Even on days when my son is in a bad mood or is struggling due to his disability, Jordan encourages him and makes sure he gets the most out of a session. Both of my toddlers see Britnye for occupational therapy. Britnye has a fun and outgoing energy that draws my shy kids in and makes them want to engage with her. She has really helped my kids get over some of their nervousness and open up to new experiences!

My daughter is 15 years old and needed help with emotional regulation and ODPT was the perfect place for her, as well. I spoke with the owner, Amber Humphrey, and she suggested that we work with Norma. She was the perfect occupational therapist for my daughter. She understood the mental health issues my kid was dealing with and didn't make her feel "crazy." She taught her several coping skills that she has been able to use when feeling overwhelmed. Shelby was also so great when dealing with our hectic schedules and was always super friendly and ready to help. Thank you to Amber for finding us the perfect fit and thank you to Norma for taking such great care of my daughter!

If you are considering speech therapy or wondering if an AAC device might help your child, I cannot recommend Speak for Yourself enough. The dedication, knowledge, and genuine care they provide is unmatched. Her approach to a rather concerning matter with your children will be put to ease once you talk with her. During my son's evaluation, she was extremely patient, thorough, professional and incredibly knowledgeable on speech delay and offered key, specific details on their plans to help my boys talk. I am extremely confident in their ability to help us and I am glad we chose her establishment. I have not met Ashanty in person yet, my kids' speech pathologist but she is very easily accessible and sends us updates regularly via text. We have heard great things about her from staff at our kids' schools and so far, we are happy with her. The desk staff, (I've primarily communicated with Cammie) is also amazing. Very responsive and easily accessible, (you can even text with them!) Scheduling was a breeze and I appreciate the great customer service and professionalism. It goes a long way in my book. Special thanks again to Melody for being just really freaking good at her job and genuinely caring about my kids! I love talking with her just hear her wisdom! Thank you!!!
