If I could give zero stars, I absolutely would. We entrusted Heather Webster (the owner) with…read moreproviding speech therapy services to our child. During a moment of frustration, our child--who is on the spectrum--bit Heather on the shoulder (not hard enough to break the skin). In response, she struck our child on the back of the neck with an open hand. This behavior is completely unacceptable and has been reported to Child Protective Services and the state licensing board. Her excuse was, "I didn't know he was a biter"--even though biting is a known and not uncommon behavior among children with special needs. Regardless, anyone who has worked with children--especially those on the spectrum--for over 30 years, as she claims, should be trained and prepared to manage such situations safely and professionally. Our son, who is still developing the ability to communicate his emotions, needed support and guidance--not physical punishment. What he received instead was a violation of trust and safety. We hope no other child experiences what ours did under her care.

I scheduled my daughter's annual wellness check with Dr. Purcell. She was very kind and friendly…read more Before the appointment, I confirmed multiple times with my insurance company that the annual wellness visit would be covered 100% with no copay. However, after the visit, I received a bill for a copay. When I contacted the billing department, they told me that if any concerns are brought up during the annual checkup and the doctor documents notes about them, the visit is then considered a regular office visit, which requires a copay. I carefully recalled what happened that day. I simply answered the questions asked by the medical staff and had the doctor perform the routine annual exam. We had some casual conversation during the visit, but I did not request any additional evaluation beyond the standard checkup. I was surprised to be told that this automatically resulted in a copay. We have visited many other pediatricians for annual checkups in the past and have never encountered this situation. The billing department repeatedly insisted that this is their policy and that their practice is different from other pediatric offices. They said the office manager would call me back to explain further, but I have not received any call or follow-up. It does not seem like they are interested in resolving this issue. I hope this clinic takes this matter seriously. Families should be aware that even if their insurance covers annual wellness visits at 100%, if the staff determines that "any concern" was brought up, they may reclassify the visit as a regular office visit and require a copay.
