Tried to get me sign a blank document and became very aggressive when I did not. I do recommend sending kids here!

She didn't know where she was or why she was there. Instead of providing care, it felt like the staff just sedated patients to make their jobs easier. Aside from a few kind nurses, most were rude, dismissive, and clearly unwilling to engage with patients in a meaningful way. One tech even told my mom she "needed to adjust her attitude." Unacceptable. The doctor was worse. I've seen feral cats with more bedside manner. She knew almost nothing about my mom's case except what she glanced at in the notes. It wasn't until I insisted they reduce her pain meds that anything changed--then suddenly the doctor called and admitted she "thought" that might be causing the confusion. Seriously? The therapists are genuine and kind, and their efforts are appreciated. However, they typically spend only about an hour a day with patients. Unfortunately, despite the positive aspects, the negatives outweigh the positives at this facility. This place runs on convenience, not compassion. Please think twice before trusting them with someone you love.

The Nurses take forever to come and assist the patients in the rooms when the Red Alert Button has been pushed. The patients with dementia are not able to advocate for themselves unfortunately. Therefore, the patients do not get taken to use the restroom often, so they wet themselves. The wheelchair bound patients end up getting sores on their behinds because they are not moved often/ ignored. Many elderly patients fall down while staying here due to poor negligence. Case Managers do not respond back to phone calls in a timely fashion. You have to keep calling and hunting them down. Medications are not given properly to patients. Encompass will try to push patients out of their facility promptly even if patients are not capable (still have 10/10 pain, cannot walk/ move at all or without assistance, etc). Our family has been very dissatisfied and disgusted with the lack of care and service from this facility.

The Humble facility is…read moreby far the best experience I've had with Encompass (I've been to the woodlands facility as well, and it was okay but they had a major health faux pas where i was concerned--that's for a different review though)....Humble Encompass accepted me twice when other facilities refused to take me for whatever reason, and I feel I flourished at this facility. I've been there four times total now, and I plan to go again in the future. I have ankylosing spondylitis, and a myriad of other health problems, but the AS causes my spine to fuse, and physical therapy is the gold-standard treatment to maintain as much mobility as possible. This is why I will go back regularly to keep as much as I can. I'm currently in a wheelchair but with physical therapy from Encompass, I was able to walk 10-12 feet with a walker on a fairly consistent basis. This also means I can stand and pivot, which is so crucial for mobility around my house. With occupational therapy, I learned to stand and help get things out of cabinets in a kitchen and put utensils back into the drawer while standing. I hung clothes on a clothesline, and I learned ways to take a shower that don't wear me out completely. It was wonderful. Special thanks to Amanda, the OT, for all her help--and Ozzie when she was off, he was great to me! My love to Christian, Konnie, Amanda, Ozie, and so many others. I wouldn't be as strong as I am not if not for your help. I hope I spelled names right, but if not, know I meant to! LOL And my case worker Kim was phenomenal! I will be back and by the way--the food is pretty decent, especially for a hospital. Really impressed with the hospital food here. They do serve dinner early, but I always could get the best turkey sandwiches at night if I was still hungry just by asking the tech. They also served snacks like pudding at night around 9pm, if you wanted something. Can't complain about the food. They followed me through to discharge and called within an hour of me arriving home to make sure I arrived home okay and there were no problems. They followed up with Home Health services to ensure that I was set up for home health. Everything transitioned smoothly. Can't really complain about anything at the Humble facility.... I'm pleased.

This needs to be taken care of before class action/private suit opens up. Not to mention before any state or city investigation starts. I recommend getting involved, and fixing These issues very soon.

This practice is dangerous for use in any type of facility and presents a significant health risk. During this period, our mother developed acute symptoms including leg weakness, leg quivering, and a pronounced unilateral lean, which were observed by staff without appropriate intervention or escalation. She later confirmed she had personally witnessed a staff member crushing the substance in her room. Given the severity of her condition and the lack of timely response, she required emergency medical evaluation. This raises serious concerns regarding supervision, safety protocols, and duty of care. Families are strongly encouraged to ask direct questions about environmental controls and oversight. If any of your family members display these symptoms, please seek immediate emergency medical care. 0 Stars. Do Not Recommend!

The only continual positive experiences I had there was from the Physical And Occupational Therapy group and housekeeping staff Both PT and Occupational Therapists worked together as a team and continually offered to assist the other therapists. In addition both therapy groups encouraged and applauded all of us on our accomplishments. The housekeeping staff was so kind and helpful and they offered to assist each other. The PT / Occupational Therapists and Housekeeping staffs are both cohesive groups and work well as teams. I only wish that the entire nursing staff and their aides were a cohesive team, for their guests / patients. Four different aides came into provide patient care for me but they were on their personal cell phones the whole time. That could have been a violation of HIPPA or very close to it. One aide came in around 11 pm at night and was upset because she had to come in and clean me up. That aide drug a wheelchair over to my bed and said "Mr Woods here is your wheelchair that way you can get up and go to the bathroom yourself". I was shocked and upset and said "I can't get out of the bed or walk without help." Her reply was "I only work part time and PT didn't pass that onto me." Obviously there needed to be procedures in place where aides and nurses are at least basically aware of the status or condition of a guest / patient. Or how about just instituting a communication or pass on between shifts. One last issue a counselor/ therapist came in and asked if she could ask me a few questions and I said yes. About 10 minutes into the interview and she said "Oh you are not a woman by the same last name are you?" I said "no I have not had a gender reassignment surgery ." She left my room and found the correct guest / patient. The counselor came back in and said that "I have been making mistakes like that a lot lately". She left and then came back a few days later and said "can we finish the rest of the interview" I said "no and please leave you already discharged me." Now I could go on about other issues but I won't. Now Amanda the Director hired 2 new employees "T" and Gemayel they are in charge of the nursing staff including the aides. They made some positive changes but they have a long road to go yet. I would highly recommend before you admit a relative or friend to any "skilled" nursing facility conduct your own research on any and all facilities that you might consider. Talk with your friends to see what they might have to say about a facility .
