This may be my first and only review that ever I've written for a company service, and…read moreunfortunately, it's a negative one... and deservedly so. During my inspection, their inspector began the experience with a very negative attitude (which I guess I could dismiss after he began our meeting with a sad story from his past). Throughout the inspection, he wouldn't talk to me in layman's terms and just kept repeating different code numbers with a bunch of acronyms... and when I asked for him to elaborate on several areas, he just responded back that he wasn't allowed to talk about them due to policy. Call me crazy... but I expected to receive professional explanations after hiring a company to provide a professional service. A few of the areas that my realtor and I confirmed actually worked after he left were the outdoor built-in gas grill, the boathouse lift, the gas fireplace, an outdoor kitchen sink and a locked door... yes, the inspector claimed that a door wouldn't move, but all I had to do was lean my body into it a little bit to get the look to open (not an ideal way to open a door, but it worked). There was a wet spot on the ceiling, and he wouldn't get into the attic to check the drip pan under the A/C and claimed that was due to liability. I was kinda okay with that until he wouldn't let me into the attic to check it out myself! What was even more frustrating after those miserable two hours, is that the company kept dismissing my frustrations and just kept referring to the large amount of pictures that he took, to which my realtor replied that she could've included those in for me just as easily. Long story, short... save yourself some time, headaches and money and just hire someone to travel in from another city. I was so upset over this poor experience that I almost didn't buy the lakehouse. Luckily, my family convinced me to pay for another inspection for confirmation... I paid a Dallas Inspector HALF the price (including travel costs to drive from Dallas) of East Texas Home Inspection and the Dallas inspector was able to walkthrough the entire house in half the time and with more than enough professional explanations to make me feel confident in purchasing the lakehouse. Stay safe everyone, and don't make the same mistake that I did.

I have no idea if this person still works for Petty's or not. Then he asked if I would update my review on Yelp, which I'm doing now. Something I did not mention was the 3 or 4 pieces of plastic piping my dogs brought to me that were left throughout the yard. And now, our sprinkler heads do not recede after they come on. I will have to call another company to come out and fix this problem.
