    Crawling Tiger by Daryl
    Cristina C.

Daryl made my vision come to life. Walked me through the detailed parts of the drawing and made sure I was satisfied before he got to work. Didn't want to go with the $50 extra charge for numbing cream. But he made sure to rub A+D ointment before and after working on each section. This caused a more painless experience as well as no bleeding and minimal inflammation. Fuck yeah. Only downside was once people started piling in near close he started to kind of rush, not very professional. Because of that he forgot to color in two of the tiger stripes which I noticed while eating a Chicago dog next door. Went back 10 min later and luckily he hadn't started working on the next guy so my stuff was still set up. He was happy to touch that up real quick. Thanks D! Also the place has a shit ton of tattoos to choose from I'd say like over 1,000 just to check out and get some inspiration. They've got a TV too and Netflix to pass the time. Yeet.

I've had 3 different tattoos done in Chicago & San Francisco. I've accepted that pretty much all tattoo artists are typically egotistic, judgmental, condescending & always feel the need to enforce their art on you. It's as if your life is on the line, and they're about to place a coronary artery bypass graft. It's one thing to give a client inform consent and STILL do the work you're paid to do, but it's quite another to imply that a client's taste is inferior to yours, or to be passive-aggressive with scare tactics. Especially the younger generation who are clueless when it comes to professionalism, and sometimes will even say, "you don't want it to look stupid," or will even get into your personal business to find out why a certain tattoo is so important to you. My experience at Infamous Ink, however, was total opposite. Like night and day. After striking out at two different tattoo places one night, I gave Infamous Ink a call. I called to confirm that they closed at midnight on a Monday. I spoke with Annie, the tattoo artist. It was getting late and her response was, "No rush." From the moment I walked in to the moment I walked out, the whole experience--the friendliness, the level of respect, the professionalism--was completely unparalleled. She didn't get into my business about why I wanted this specific tattoo; she was reasonable about the price I could pay; and she was supportive and respectful of the art that I wanted. To me, those are the things that matter most. I have been looking for a tattoo artist whose personality matches with mine; someone I can return to and be comfortable with, not worrying about the judgment or the constant struggle to just get what I want. You would think humility and kindness is the norm in today's society, but in the tattoo industry, it is an absolute rarity. And I found it. I am very lucky to meet Annie at Infamous Ink, and I am sure to return. For those who've been looking for humble artists who know what they're doing and will simply DO the work you asked for, this is the absolute place to go. I strongly recommend Annie at Infamous Ink. She will provide informed consent, letting you know of the pros and cons, but she will execute the work like a true professional. You will be in & out.

Wouldn't suggest this place for any type of service. I was visiting Chicago with my best friend and we wanted tattoos as a memory of our trip. So we asked for VERY basic tattoos on our fingers. Josh was not very talkative during the service and didn't tell us any after care. We basically had to PULL information out of him. Thankfully, we both have had tattoos from the past so we kind of remembered what to do. My best friends tattoo bled immediately. Her tattoo looks so terrible you can't even tell what it is. It looks like a black blob on the inside of her finger. On my tattoo the lines aren't even straight. I don't know how hard it is to trace two lines evenly but for our tattoo artist it must've been difficult. We are both very embarrassed by our tattoos which were supposed to be something to remember our trip by. This place should really consider going back to kindergarten and learning how to draw straight lines.

I came in for a tattoo on a time crunch. On top of that i only had an idea on what to get, no details. Josh was my artist, and on top of being super cool and easy to work with he helped me out a lot with ideas on how to make the tattoo work. It was a decent size, & on my ribs. Josh was able to work around all my squirming, & just laughed along with me. I honestly couldn't be happier with the work i got done, & wish i didn't live out of state cuz otherwise i would continue to come back!

If I could give no stars I would!!! Went in to get my face tattoo-ed and had my face wiped with rubbing alcohol multiple times so it dried out my tattoo and also burned, it pulled ALL the ink out with in 4 days and just left me with an ugly scar, lined were uneven also! The owner offered to fix it for me and then all the sudden stopped responding to me though e mail and phone. The shop phone almost never gets answered!!! DO NOT GO HERE!!!!! So unprofessional and awful work!!!! I have over 30 tattoos and have gotten them done in over 5 states and this was my only ever bad experience.

Just went in today. Got my anti-helix pierced. It was quick and easy! Josh was my piercer and it probably took 20 min total (there were two girls ahead of me). Filled out the forms, got my ID copied, and was back in the chair getting a needle in my ear. The place was very clean and nice inside. I would definitely recommend this studio to anyone! It was $50.

The space was comfortable and clean, and everyone was so nice and helpful. I got an arguably silly tattoo, but they took it seriously from start to finish! I've felt awkward about asking for weird or specific tattoos before, but I felt so at home and respected here, even being from out of town! It was an easy and fun experience, and the cost was well below what I expected to pay for a quality tattoo in this day and age, especially work as nice as I got. I'm not local to the area so I can't say if I'll be back anytime soon, but will definitely be recommending this lovely shop to my friends in the region!

The store is bright, spacious and clean. The girls at the front desk were friendly and helpful. Cody was my piercer and was fantastic. He saw me right away, went over everything and was very kind and professional. He gave me his contact information if I had any follow up questions. So far everything is healing nicely and I can't wait to start wearing my own gorgeous earrings.

Was super excited to get my industrial re-pierced but had to walk out because of their problematic and unprofessional employees. Before I even walked in, I could see the piercer laying down on the chairs (first red flag). During the consultation she was actually knowledgeable, nice, and made me feel comfortable even though she talked me out of re piercing my industrial saying it was an "advanced" piercing. I figured maybe too advanced when she's half asleep so for my own safety I went with my gut feeling and agreed with her simpler suggestion which I was still excited to get: a mid helix. However by the time I got to the front desk- whose only job is to gather the information the piercer gave them and proceed with checkout- the interaction somehow became more painful than getting any piercing done. The employee kept acting extremely puzzled (kept saying "I'm confused" to my answers to her OWN questions)... how is that even possible? Then every time I asked a simple question about jewelry design, it was the same response: "I'm confused", in addition to unnecessary attitude. I've worked with people with actual cognitive delays and it was very obvious this wasn't the case. They just wanted to be difficult for no reason because not only was she acting confused and being rude, she was also talking about me to her coworker which also proceeded to give me attitude and be passive aggressive. I saw one of them come back from talking to the piercer and then all of a sudden the piercer changed her mind and said she could go ahead with the industrial piercing -No thank you! That's when I matched their energy and expressed I wasn't comfortable with their behavior before trusting them with my body and doing something invasive, apologized to the piercer and walked out to that same employee saying " I hope you have a beautiful day". I was indeed having a beautiful day until I walked in and had to deal with their ugly attitude and continued to have a beautiful day as soon as I stepped out. Maybe they need to start embracing beauty into their lives instead of being intimidated by positivity and projecting their frustrations on customers- after all, people get piercings for a variety of positive reasons not because they hate themselves. Maybe try matching the customers energy next time. Respect yourself, your energy and your body and go somewhere where actual professionals won't use you like a guinea pig to project their frustrations, sadism, hate and incompetence on. If this is how they really treat people, let alone potential paying customers, they need to be in a therapist's office, not a piercing shop.

I reached out for advice immediately but before they had gotten back, the skin had already grown over my earrings. As I am a student and can't afford to go to the ER, I had no choice but to rip the earring out of my ear through brute force. It was very traumatic, but I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt as someone did reply to my text two hours after I had ripped the piercing out and the piercer had not been in that day. However, a month later, the exact same thing happened to my right ear. This happened despite me cleaning my piercings twice a day and never changing the jewelry. This time, I removed the backing so that the front part of the earring could hang as far away from my skin as possible. The pain was so bad I couldn't sleep at night. The piercer must have made the earrings too tight which allowed my skin to heal over them instead of in between the front and the backing. I messaged them again asking for help, followed up multiple times, and have now gone over a week without any response. I understand that complications can happen with piercings, but completely ignoring a client who is experiencing a potentially serious issue is unacceptable. Proper aftercare includes being available to advise clients when problems arise. Based on my experience, I would strongly advise to steer clear of this shop. I have attached pictures of my piercings for reference and screenshots of our conversation.
