I had the best experience getting a tattoo from Lexi (@_lexitat). I've gotten multiple tattoos at Crispy Aura before (all of which have been an incredible experience), but this was my first tattoo by Lexi. I sent her a few inspo pictures, and she created the most beautiful tattoo. She had great communication, was so friendly, and did such an incredible job and is so talented, and it was a 10/10 experience in every way. I couldn't recommend Crispy Aura and Lexi more!
What an amazing tattoo shop! After I had already booked my tattoo appointment around a month in advance (they fill up quickly!), I came here for a pop-up party to honor their grand opening and had a blast. I knew what Crispy Aura was beforehand because they've blown up on TikTok and Instagram, so I wanted to see how it was for myself at their event (this was a public event). The shop itself is the most picturesque tattoo shop I've ever come across. So pink, bright, girly, and fu. It's a total vibe and such a welcoming space. Cate is awesome. She's the owner and the main tattooer, and yes, she tattooed me! She specializes in fine line and the tattoo was everything I wanted. She offered plenty of suggestions and was very helpful with every step of the process. You can book an appointment with her through Instagram when her books open so keep an eye out for that. Definitely recommend coming here!
I had been on the waitlist for awhile for a tattoo with Linh, and she was so worth the wait! I drew my own birth flower vine based on some of the ones from her instagram, and she cleaned up a few of the flowers but left it mostly true to the original drawing. She walked me through the different sizes to choose, where to put the color, etc. so thoroughly. The tattoo is pretty big and took maybe two hours, max, and it didn't hurt much at all! I am SO happy with it, and so grateful for Linh's expertise and artistry! PS the studio is so adorable and has the biggest Bird of Paradise that I have ever seen!
I can't recommend Crispy Aura enough--especially Ash! I had been going back and forth for weeks about what to get on my shoulder blade because I wanted something powerful and meaningful that incorporated a heart. Ash was so patient and kind through the entire process, helping me land on a Sacred Heart design that felt just right. We went back and forth over ideas and she truly listened every step of the way. During the tattoo session, she was incredibly attentive to my needs--gentle when she could be, offered numbing when I needed it, and even let me bring a friend along to help distract me while getting tattooed. The studio itself is such a vibe--pink, sparkly, and super welcoming. Whether you're going in for your first tattoo or your tenth, they make the experience feel safe, comfortable, and fun. Ash and the team are amazing at working with your vision--whether you're starting from scratch or already have something in mind. I'm beyond happy with my piece and so thankful to have had such a positive and meaningful experience.
The vibes were wonderful in there! I got a flash tattoo from Jess and it turned out AMAZING, I love it so much. She did an amazing job shading, and even though I got it for Haku and Chihiro (from Spirited Away), my favorite part is the flower, I'm in LOVE with how she detailed and shaded them She made sure I was comfortable the whole time, and always asked if I needed a break or anything. Such a cute, fun, and safe little space. I'll definitely be coming back to see her
Linh has done two of my tattoos and they both came out perfect! She really takes her time too so that everything comes out right! They still look great over a year later
Love my new tattoo! I worked with the owner Cate. She was so sweet and did such a beautiful design. The studio is very clean and so cute. Highly recommend booking!
absolutely OBSESSED & in love with all the tattoos i've gotten here at Crispy Aura!!! Cate and all her artists are amazing in making you feel comfortable, safe and excited to get your tattoo. Everyone is professional while also being friendly and welcoming. Overall, cute shop with good vibes all around Linh (@petitetats) is my go to artist and shes amazing!! fast and reliable communication and great at implementing a vision into art. I've given her creative freedom in most of my tattoos and she always knows how to integrate her beautiful style with my own vision and meaning behind each tattoo especially with my most recent dragon tattoo!! we were able to implement blue smoke and cherry blossoms for this traditional japanese dragon. 1000/10 recommend Crispy Aura whether it's your first tattoo or one of many. definitely will be back
I loved my tattoo with Jess (@it.yethicca on IG)! She was very responsive to all my questions before the appointment. When I got there, she was very patient/welcoming which put my mind at ease before getting my first arm tattoo. You could tell she was very passionate with her work and detail-oriented. I would definitely go to her again once I have another tattoo idea!
I'm a little addicted to getting tattooed at Crispy Aura. My wallet isn't exactly thrilled with me, but my skin is! I am thankful to have such beautiful art on me forever. I have now gotten four tattoos from two artists: Jess and Ash. Both gave me a custom and a flash design. Working with them was incredibly easy and they were so kind, and made the process painless. Ash is absolutely insane at her high-quality hand poke tattoos, and Jess has killed it with her shading and precision. Cannot recommend them enough! read more

Went for the galentine's Day deal and it was amazing! I chose a tattoo flash deal and then did a gumball option and I loved it. I have been wanting to go here for the amazing talent and style and am so happy to have tried them! I love the pink and design of the place being all women. I can't wait to go back. read more

I had a very positive experience at Crispy Aura. I worked with Lexi, who was very communicative, supportive, and friendly. My tattoo came out exactly as I'd envisioned, and I'd definitely recommend Lexi and the studio to people looking for fine line tattoos in Chicago. The studio is cute, clean, and visually appealing, parking was easypeasy, and I'm overall very satisfied with my experience! If I get the itch for another tattoo, I'll be back. read more

i've gotten quite a few tattoos from Linh at this point, and let me tell you, every time is a whole vibe. from my first tattoo with her to the most recent one, it felt like we've always been friends. she creates a welcoming and warm environment, and is extremely easy to talk to--which is so important in any situation, but especially when getting a tattoo! read more

Where do I even begin! First off, I have to say that the location itself is amazing! Free street parking was plentiful and the studio itself is so cute, I love all the awesome stuff you can buy there too! Linh is extraordinary in so many ways. She is such a good listener and works with you to find the best fit. She is so thorough, polite, thoughtful, and kind. I am obsessed with every tattoo I've gotten from her so far! Even though her work is so precise and detailed, the appointments never take long. I will be coming back to see Linh and the team a million times over!! Linh for president!!!! read more

I normally NEVER post negative reviews, but I have to say I am really sad about my experience with Crispy Aura. I got a tattoo done by one of the team at a charity event for $100. Now, I have 9 other tattoos and I understand that fine line typically requires touch up after it is healed. Mine healed, it was not even and I saw their policy that it was $25 for a touch up the first 2 months. Great! I went to look for a phone number or an email to schedule a touch up, but there is no such thing. I then took to Instagram, messaged them twice, and got not response. 2 months came and went and I never heard back. Unfortunately, I had to get it covered up by another tattoo artist. I also know that tattoo artists (mine specifically) is not a trained tattoo artist by trade. While having apprentices is absolutely fine, that information should always be disclosed to the person getting the tattoo. Luckily, I love my cover up. But I'm really disappointed in my experience with Crispy Aura. read more
