When the crew arrived, they assumed we had a flat roof like our neighbor's, forcing a postponement to order an airlift to lower our solar panels. - Delays and Understaffing: Because of the initial delay, only two workers were on-site for the first few days, working nearly 10-hour days. As a result, the job took over a week to complete. - Property Care Issues: The crew removed our skylights without covering the openings, which allowed debris into our home. While they covered the openings with plastic after the fact, this precaution should have been taken beforehand. - Workmanship and Leak Risks: Our primary reason for reroofing was existing interior wall damage. When our contractor inspected the work before repairing the interior walls, he discovered that Alta Cal had failed to replace the flashing, leaving the roof vulnerable to leaks where it meets the exterior wall. When they delayed addressing the issue, we had to pay our own contractor to fix it. - Inadequate Ventilation: The vents they installed provided insufficient airflow, causing the attic to overheat severely. We ultimately had to pay to install a dormer vent to restore proper circulation. If you are considering hiring Alta Cal or working with Remi, I strongly advise caution and insist on a thorough in-person site visit before any work begins.

On October 13, I emailed photographs and explained my concerns. Barry responded that the issue was condensation caused by something I had added inside and that I needed to remove it. I hadn't added anything, so I called for clarification. During our phone conversation, I felt Barry was rude and dismissive. He repeatedly spoke over me while I tried to explain the situation. He eventually acknowledged that he had confused me with another customer, and we scheduled an inspection. During his visit, Barry inspected the exterior of the roof but did not physically examine the stained plywood from inside my garage, which was the specific area I had asked him to investigate. I subsequently received an estimate for approximately $2,900 in roof repairs without what I considered an adequate explanation of the suspected cause of the damage or why the proposed work was necessary. On October 15, we sent a detailed follow-up email asking about the inspection findings, proposed repairs, warranty coverage, solar panels, and costs. We received no response, so I followed up on October 23 after seeing Barry's response to my Yelp review. Barry replied that he had not received the earlier email. However, rather than addressing the questions in the email conversation, he wrote, "And after your beautiful review, I guess we're a little past that by now." After posting my review, Barry also sent me text messages and a draft lawsuit demanding $35,000 in damages unless I removed my reviews. My disappointment is primarily with the communication, the failure to physically examine the area I reported, and how my concerns were handled. This review reflects my personal experience and opinion. Based on that experience, I would not recommend this company.

Additionally, when we asked if there was anything we could do about a few of our gutters being extra loud during the rain, he offered to come back to install some sponges that might dampen the sound of the rain hitting the gutters without blocking water flow.
