I tried on several more that were brought to me but the first one was the best. I'm so amazed at her knowledge of bras, fit, breast shape and her stock. I can't wait to go back and get more! If you are having trouble finding a comfortable bra in large cup sizes, go to custom curves. I'm a 36 J and have hated my uncomfortable bras for years. (I needed to upsize from a 34 to a 36.) Custom curves sold me the lightest, softest , whisper of an underwire bra ever. I think it must have been sewn by fairies or angels. I actually forget I have it on all day long. And the prices are very fair. I've seen bras in my size at another bra specialty shop go as high as $300 with most averaging $150. One bra I purchased at Custom Curves was $98 and one was $50. Amazing!!

I'm so glad I went here: it was the most positive experience I could've had. The owner was so kind and helpful and was also very knowledgeable about corsetry, which I was also looking for. I left the store feeling confident and empowered by finally having bras that fit and made me feel beautiful. I cannot speak highly enough of the store!! Also, I was a D/DD and the owner knew how all the brands fit and even had some C bras in stock for when I needed to go up a band size/down a cup size.

Every female university student in the city goes through this place in search of a pair of colourful fish net tights in October though, so if you're just wanting to browse, possibly save yourself a few jostled encounters and wait until next week. Great men's selection available too! All of the walls in 'Sock it to Ya' swing open to reveal extra inventory so if you don't see your size, don't assume the shop is too small to possibly have extras.

Add on the fact that all purchases are rung in by hand (debit and credit available - but inventory is managed on paper), and you have a refreshingly low-tech boutique experience. The product ranges from generic to known brands like Calvin Klein, JM and more. While the price tags often look steep ($30 for a pair of underwear), there are often incredible sales that end up leaving you with a bargain on designer finds. Definitely worth checking out!

The first thing that hit me when I walked in was a wonderful sent of tangerine, at least I think that is what it was, the smell was heaven. This place was packed today, I know it was a combination of beautiful weather, Spring Garden and March Break. There was no sign of recession in this store. The line went from the cash right to the back of the store. I could not believe it. And no one was blinking an eye at the cost, $58.00 top, $130.00 jacket, $90.00 pants. I do think some people will choke on the prices, but I believe you will get great quality. Either that or half of Halifax has lost their minds, because I have never seen so many people in a store, and no sale going on. The styles and colours here are a step above the others you will find. They had some great selections. There was one jacket I thought was a pretty good price, the $130.00 Rain Jacket.

While I'll admit that at first, I found this to be kind of neat, I have come to find it to be very distracting and lacking professionalism. Inside, the staff members were quite friendly and eager to assist. While I had gone there with the intention of buying a work-out t-shirt, after discovering that one of the cheapest and most basic t-shirts was $58, which by the way was made overseas, I decided against the purchase. I then went and checked out the exercise pants, and while I agree, they were some of the nicest exercise pants I had ever seen, I simply could not justify paying $98 + tax for a pair of work-out pants. Needless to say, I left the store once again, empty handed, and am continuing to wonder how work-out clothing can demand such high prices.

The first thing that struck me was the lovely smell when I stepped into the warm store - it smelled like lavender and that delightful fresh baby scent that all newborns seem to have. I was greeted promptly and took my time perusing the selections. They have a huge array of soft reusable diapers as well as lots of books, both educational for parents-to-be and playful stories for young kiddies. They have lots of wares to make new parents comfortable, like baby slings and cozy blankets. This is a great place to go if you're expecting or you know someone with a bun in the oven. You'll find an educated staff able to support you and offer you assistance with great products designed to help out with the rough and tumble, exciting journey of parenthood.

There's a great, curated selection of toys, books, and gear that is sure to make any parent or child on your list giggle with delight. The staff could not possibly be any more helpful, but to go even further, they host regular workshops on cloth diapering, baby wearing, pregnancy and delivery, breastfeeding, potty training and more. The store is gorgeous within, from the barn-board floor to the blackboard wall, to the rainbow of cloth diapers on display. The front windows are always a wonderland. The store is even accessible if you can't get into Halifax. They have a vibrant web presence at their website, Facebook page and Twitter stream.

From "how-to" books about subjects that deal with the bedroom to other...items that can help in the bedroom, they have it all! The store generally does cater to women or the homosexual culture, but I didn't feel any "do not come in" vibe walking into the store. The store is basically a sex shop but it also has great books, mostly for around $20 that deal with sexuality, understanding where you fit in the world of sex and understanding where society is at. So I would say it is a sex conscious shop, if that makes sense. The staff are very friendly to everyone although I felt like I had an invisible cloak on because I wasn't being helped or even acknowledged. I later on found out I wasn't, in fact wearing an invisible cloak when I tried to get on the bus and not pay for it. Just kidding. This shop has everything you need to learn about sexuality. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. They weren't saying hi to me but I'll go back and give them another chance. So if you have questions about sex or would like some products to help you out, definitely check out Venus Envy. They are right downtown, prices are reasonable, and they have a great selection.
