Food is delicious. Service is horrible especially from the short petite woman with short black hair. I tried ordering over the phone... no answer... when I arrived she didn't even acknowledge let alone greet me. Once I order senses what I always do when I have dinner in... ATTITUDE. She said it would be 30 minutes because I didn't order over the phone. I told her no one answers and she said that no one called...whatever I proceeded to order listening to other people come in and order... Her rudeness remained the same. Love this place, well the food at least. It was one of the very first restaurants we ate at when we moved to Glendale. Despite the quality food, the service can be a bit substandard; every time we've been there it takes at least 5 to 10 minutes before the server has acknowledged us, and table visits are infrequent. Still, the food is incredible so we will keep going back. read more

the restaurant recently renovated to more "cool" atmosphere. I guess they needed some update, but it really doesn't have that community-family restaurant feeling anymore. And of course, the prices are up. My family used to eat (2adults/1 child) for less than 25bucks, but now its about 50 with same orders. they serve not the original-thai-iced tea (not orange), but I really like em. I have eaten Thai food all my life from, TASTE OF THAI in San Diego to RED CORNER ASIA in Hollywood and have experienced some of the best Thai foods in USA however INDRA is not one of them, in fact their food was probably my least favorite thai food I have ever consumed...I ordered Fried Rice with chicken and the fried rice came just with the rice and chicken, NO peas or NO carrots, and it tasted very blend however this wasn't the least pleasant., I tried the coconut seafood soup with lemon grass and this particular soup didn't have much ingredients however it was FULL of salt and tasteless with imitation crab....etc. Fyi, I LOVE to eat PAD THAi, and I definitely know a good tasting one from a Blend one...but definitely not this one, not at Indra, they forgot to put peanuts, sprouts, green onions, and enough lemon on it, Not to mention their type of PAD Thai didn't have any taste to it., I am sorry to say that this spot based on my 20 plus years of eating thai food just doesn't cut it. This thai food joint does not have any commonalities with any Thai food I have ever eaten., therefore I will not be visiting this restaurant again. A couple of months ago my first experience was good. But today, we took out stir-fry with bamboo shoots in green curry. Oh boy, it was awful, so far my worst Thai food experience. Seemed like they ran out of stir-fry veggies so served us pretty much just bamboo shoots in green curry (some pieces were fibrous and had to spit out). If you are in Glendale, Thai Me Up is so much better and thankfully close to my residence. Never again Indra. read more

Family owned and operated, we have been coming here for years. The food is just plain good and tastes homemade. I love their Tom Yum soup, Pad Sew Yew and curries. The staff is always friendly and serves with a smile. What I like most is that the restaurant is comfortable, not too noisy, newly redecorated and you can have a nice meal for as long as you want and they wont bother you. I love to take friends here to catch up and enjoy some Thai food. read more

i love thai food, and having read some of the four stars reviews on yelp, i had added it to my to-try list some time ago. my friend and i had passed by it a couple times when we were in the glendale area. but tonight, after dropping by a gallery in the area to pick up my painting, and hanging out abit at the americana, we decided to check out indra thai for dinner. we arrived shortly after 5pm. parking is easily available within the complex lot. through the window, it doesn't look quite attractive, but there were already about five table full of customers enjoying an early dinner, and that usually is a fairly good sign. we headed in. the first thing we noticed is the over-the-counter thai snack available as take-out (much like food court, panda express counter setup). there were fried bananas, fried spicy chicken, fried fish with spicy sauce, curries dishes, and couple of thai snacks. they all look pretty good, so i was happy and looking forward to our dinner. :) after about 30 seconds standing at the entrance area, we were greeted and escorted to our table with the menus. skimming through the entire menu, we noticed there are alot of noodle dishes, and not many of my favorite thai dishes are available. the dishes are fairly priced, but the fish dishes i was interested in were marked as "m.p." (market price), the server, who speaks pretty fluent english (contrary to few of the reviews i read about them not speaking english), was very friendly and explained that it would depend on the size of the fish, but should be about $15. so, i chose #52 on the menu, which is stated as "fried fish w/kra pow sauce, whole fish deep fried until golden & topped w/spicy kra pow sauce prepared w/mint leaves & minced garlic". my friend chose #75 which is "pad see eew, flat noodles, broccoli, scrambled egg, & choice of chicken, beef, pork stir fried in soy bean sauce" priced at $6.95. he asked for pork. he also ordered #6, the "satay, marinated in spicy curry & skewed on the stick, this indonesian cuisine has been modified w/a thai twist. served w/ peanut sauce & cucumber salad. choice of chicken or beef". my friend asked if we could have it half chicken and half beef (which many restaurants would've accommodated this request), but the server said no, they can't do "since all the satay were pre-packaged and prepared already", whatever that means. with a tad bit of disappointment, he went with the chicken satay. she offered if we would like a bowl of rice and naturally we said yes (but thought to ourselves that the steamed jasmine white rice was supposed to come with the fish dish as stated on the menu?) anyway, i have a habit of ordering a glass of thai ice tea the first time i dine in any thai restaurant, so no difference this time. they called theirs "indra thai ice tea" priced at $1.50. ;) overloaded with the usual crushed ice which makes the taste abit diluted, but i like that the milk is not overwhelming which is nice and not too sweet. satay as appetizer came first. the chicken meat was nicely done (no burnt corners), the peanut sauce is abit too diluted but still flavorful, and the cucumber salad was sweetly good. :) our fish dish arrived in two 'small' pieces. i feel so bad saying this, but again, abit of a disappointment. the pompano wasn't deep fried long enough, texture of abit 'lumpy', and it was kinda barely warm when served to us. the kra pow sauce was very blended, but since i really love fish, we did finish this dish. the best part of the meal ought to be the fried bananas. an order came with six pieces, and it was yummily crunchy. :) when the check came, we noticed they charged an extra $1.25 for the one-person bowl of rice they served us with. the menu, however, did state that the fish entree is "served w/ steamed jasmine white rice". somehow we forgot to ask them about it and paid that puzzling extra $1.25? before we left, i stopped by the counter for a to-go order of the spicy sliced fried catfish priced at $7.95 (i'll yelp about it on a separate entry.) though it's a very friendly and cozy environment, and the food wasn't all that bad, my friend isn't too keen to come back again, but with the steady traffic of customers coming in and leaving happy (and with all the other positive yelp reviews), i would want to come back to try the other dishes. :) read more

I would give zero stars if I could. Some of the worst pad Thai I've ever had. Noodles were VERY dry, shrimp was overcooked and the smallest shrimp I've had when ordering shrimp pad Thai. Not to mention the customer service was BAD. I walked in and the waitress offered to help the Asian man that arrived after me and she had a mean look on her face the entire time. I'm pretty sure that if you're not Asian you shouldn't dine here since they're prejudice. I don't ever plan on returning and the only reason I went in the first place was because my usual place Thai Touch was closed. This place will never get my money ever again. read more

two years. two years ive been staring out my window at this busy little thai restaurant wondering if i should make the leap through their door. then one day the decor got modernized with colors that didnt-quite-go but went together oh-so-well... so now you were sitting in a hip thai boutique rather than at your auntie whatshernames house. sweet... casual date night. we were seated right away when we walked in at 830pm. our waiter was a little loopy, but at least it was funny and not annoying. typical thai food order: fried wontons, pad thai, and a meat/veggie dish called kra pow. plus a thai tea... which happened to be completely different from any thai tea ive ever had and so effing delicious. what was in it? no clue. but it tasted like they brewed the tea in the motherland, transported it by unmentionable means in an instant, milked a cow juiced up on sugar, and bam, party in my mouth. i loaded up on the huge portion of wontons now in front of me while the rest of the food was prepared. after a wait, the kra pow arrived. i was slightly disappointed in the size. i mean, its suppose to be a good thing that i wasnt overflowing from the plate in terms of my health... but for the money that was going to be paid it should have been bigger, especially since i wasnt wearing heels and lipstick to go to dinner. but, this dish was spicy... i NEVER say anything is hot. jalapenos on pizza, whatever. salsa roja, its just flavor. Louisiana hot sauce in extra extra freakin spicy... nothing. but why were these little chillies burning my mouth to high hell?! pad thai was surprisingly delicious for looking so... prepackaged. it came on a larger sized platter, but it was more 2.5 person sized instead of family sized like most asian restaurants serve, for the exact same price! *tsk tsk* i say. the bill came out to just under $30, which isnt bad but isnt that good either. slightly overpriced, a little generic, but good enough to walk the 50 feet from my front door to grab a bite to eat. and guess what? they have chinese food... i guess thats whats sitting in the hot trays when you walk in, still havent figured it out yet. i should probably ask. The panang curry with beef is excellent. Try the omelette with ground pork and spicy sauce. Never crowded. Always fast, always good. Very reliable. I've been here two times and was totally satisfied each time. You MUST order the Haw Mok Telay (red curry seafood-see pic). The presentation is really fun with 8 miniature claypots seated into a larger round clay firing stone. The holes were lined with Thai basil and coconut milk and are filed with shrimp, mussels, fish and squid. This is definitely the highlight of a meal here. We also had the Yenta Pho which was pleasantly light in flavor and is filled with fried tofu, fish cake and balls, shrimp and squid. The broth was light and tangy, almost as though it had pineapple but I think it was from tomato. The noodles were broad flat rice noodles and they were the perfect compliment to the broth. Highly recommended if you're in the Eagle Rock / Glendale area and don't feel like a trip to Thai Town. They also have a buffet (not self serve) that I've heard is very good. Although this restaurant may make a couple decent dishes such as their homoke talay or yahm neua (spicy beef salad), the rest of their cooking takes Thai cuisine to new lows. Their tom yum soup (spicy shrimp soup-a thai staple) was the worst I've ever had. The pad krapao was simply unrecognizable in taste or look to what you would get in Thailand. And their pad Thai? Indra is a little hole in the wall that LOADS their food with mega-MSG to pump up the flavors (and hide the mystery meat flavor...yum.) It's in a strip mall and it's kind of dirty. On the plus side, if you beg for non-MSG laden food, they make it fresh, and at that point it's completely edible. It's pretty inexpensive, and there's always a place to park (isn't that kind of a bad sign, though?) The ladies behind the counter are super nice and try their bestest, but it doesn't make up for the lack of quality in the food. read more

I've been coming here for 13 years, and this place has never failed to impress me. They recently renovated the place a few years back and it looks quite like a small fancy thai restaurant. There is a small section for to go orders but overall I enjoy this place so much. ***I RECMMONED Prik King very good! a choice of 3 meats with green beans in a red curry paste and I recommend the TOM YUM soup very lemony and delicious! Apparently (as indicated on this board) it is now under new management, and while the decorations might be more pleasing to the eye, the food, as I experienced it on Tuesday night, was nasty to the palate. The panang curry with tofu was REALLY good. Such full, rich flavor. The Shrimp pad-see-yu was good too and that is my favorite thai noodle dish. The pad thai had good flavor but the noodles were so sticky and clumped together I was deeply disappointed. Not sure I would try it again. The service is friendly, parking is challenging at times, and ambiance is decent. Not sure if the people who run it are Thai or not. There are some non-thai items on the menu, which is often a bad sign. This is close to my house, but kind of pricey for the portions. Thai Eagle Rox (not too far away in Eagle Rock) is much better. We have been going here for years. We love to order Fried Shrimp with vegtables which has a very light breading. Also the Beef with Broccoli with Oyster sauce is a family favorite. Very Tasty! After reading all the negative and positive reviews, I decided to give it a try because it's close to where I'm staying. My food was disappointing and I think this is the kind of place where the quality of the dishes varies greatly, so stick with specialties. I ordered Pad Woon Sen with pork -- the noodles were flavorless and there were no veggies (I had asked in advance if the dish came with vegetables and was told yes, then a 10-second conversation followed in which I specified that I DID WANT vegetables in addition to the meat, I believe I said "lots of veggies" -- there was fried egg and one strip of fried white onion, not a single chunk of carrot or broccoli). The pork was gross. Overall I could have boiled my own $1 rice noodles and created the same dish. I also ordered the stuffed chicken wings, and while it was cool that there were 6 to the order, and they looked fairly big, it turns out there was hardly any chicken meat -- the "wings" were mostly batter and stuffing. Also they were lukewarm and not crispy, so probably not made fresh. If I end up going back because of its convenient location, I'd order a special or maybe one of the big soups. read more

Ah yes, my neighborhood Thai restaurant.... it's in this very unassuming plaza... you'd hardly notice it if you're driving at the speed of traffic on Verdugo. But it's a nice little place with good food at great prices. The crab fried rice is really good, and the pad see-ew was ok (the noodles were good, but the beef was chewy). They have a pretty extensive menu for a small place, and at these prices, you can afford to go back and try everything. read more

Just edible...i used to eat here back in the day before they remodeled and decided to give it a try... poor decision. I phone ordered the chicken curry for pick up and came 20 min later...they asked for my order and noticed my order wasn't ready, when I reminded them what i ordered they just scooped out the curry from the buffet cart, who knows how long that's been "stewing" there, and had to wait another 10 min for them to complete my order. The curry was ok, but should really be renamed bamboo curry...the noodle dish was tasteless and oily. I don't expect to eat/order here again anytime soon...maybe in another 20 years. read more
