I've been going to this place for the past 20 years and they serve the best authentic Thai food! The staff are very nice and friendly!

My sister and I have busy schedules and live right down the street so we decided to try and order their beef panang curry. What we got essentially was beef in oil with no vegetables, no coconut milk, and no rice for $15 and the container was tiny. I called them and they confirmed it was "supposed" to be that way. I wanted a quick meal so that I could get back to my work and instead ended up having to salvage what I could and make my own, so that my sister and I could eat. There are really great thai places in Glendale, I would recommend ANY of them over here. Very disappointing and we will never be ordering from here again. read more

A friend and I were craving for some Thai food for dinner and weren't up for driving to Hollywood (Thai town).. so we decided to give this place a try since it was convenient and close to home. Located in a small strip mall.. you really wouldn't expect much at all, but of course some decent Thai food. Sadly to say... it wasn't so much. ORDER: the #3 ($7.50) which consisted of BBQ chicken over jasmine rice which wasn't bad.. flavorful and straight off the grill, 2 veggie egg rolls which had an off taste to it.. totally wasn't fresh at all.. glad it came with sweet and sour sauce to mask the taste. Chow mein w/ beef (seemed more Chinese than Thai) was boring, dry, and lacked flavor.. I've had better at the local Chinese fast food joints. Overall I definitely experienced better. Service was quick and on point as our glass of water was constantly filled. The place itself looks a bit old fashioned, with only about 10 tables it didn't seem to cramped. They also offer food to go at the cooked food station with about 6 different selections. Maybe I made a bad selection from the menu, but based on what I had I can say that I doubt I would come back. Poor Service. We ordered to go - asked for a second type of spicy sauce that was already pre-packaged and she gave us the eye. Please, that tiny sauce container was half the size of a normal to go sauce container. Ugh...and the 1 item dish (we ordered bamboo ck) was sooooooo skimpy! The first suspicion was that if was a cafeteria-looking place and not populated with people. I went with two friends who all have had great Thai food in Thai Town and elsewhere. 3.5 Stars. I've only been here once, so this review reflects that experience. The boy took me here for a casual date. We arrived pretty late (maybe 30 minutes before closing). The location isn't great (in a semi-dingy strip mall), so it was a nice surprise to find the inside dining area was decorated quite nicely. We were seated fairly promptly if I remember correctly, and although our server wasn't the most helpful when we asked what dishes she recommended (it really felt like she was half heartedly recommending dishes that are popular in America when I was specifically/repeatedly asking her what HER favorite dishes were...), we found a dish that seemed appealing by its description and went with that. My opinions of the dishes we ordered: Pad Thai - REALLY good Pad Thai! Moist, flavorful - we finished the entire plate. Pad Kratiem (Garlic Sauce) - I'm pretty sure this was the dish we got. We ordered it with beef, and it was tasty! Light, with a flavorful sauce that didn't overpower the flavor of the beef. A pleasant surprise and we cleaned this plate as well. Mango with Sticky Rice - VERY tasty! Not a new dish to me, but this was definitely the best I've had thus far. The mango was very fresh, and the sticky rice was super enjoyable. Our two thai iced teas were good as well. I wasn't sold on this place, but I'd definitely come back to try it again. It's a little far from me, so I'm not sure when that will be, but maybe I'll make a trip so I can have that tasty Pad Thai again :) read more

Been eating here for years. The new remodel is pleasant, but to me its all about the food. My favorites are the beef salad, larb and crispy catfish. Everything here is pretty good. Great little place. The wood paneling on the inside might throw you off but the food is actually quite good. It is cheap enough to visit frequently (I live right by it). I don't know what it is about overcooked beef at a Thai restaurant, because every time I eat it, I can't get over whether it's the cooking or the type of cut it is. No matter how to slice it, literally, you can't recover from overcooked and tough meat. And that's what I was left with here. The Pad Prik with Beef. What should have been an otherwise tasty dish was unrescue-able [that's not even a word!] when I started eating, or should I say chewing, on the beef. So sad. If not for the relatively tasty Garlic Atlantic Salmon, this might have been a 1 star rating. The other dish we ordered was the Pad See Ew. I've been eating here my whole life and have yet to write a review. The interior has recently been remodeled to be more fresh and contemporary. The service is still the same, and by the same, I mean the exact same ladies that have been there since I was like 3, I swear they haven't aged in 20 years. After a moderately strenuous hike at Devils Canyon, we came upon Indra to get our feast on. Coming into the restaurant, you are met immediately with a hot food table which gives off the impression of a fast-food place. However, as you walk further in, you notice the nice interior of the restaurant which kinda throws you off. One of my friends is a loyal customer of Indra's so we left it up to her to order away. We shared the beef salad, chow mien, stuffed chicken wings, kra pow- chili garlic pork, and seafood curry. The stuffed chicken wings which I was a little hesitant about actually tasted the best. The outside of the chicken was surrounded by a crispy egg-based batter while the inside was stuffed with seasoned glass noodles and other veggies. Sounds weird, but it was mighty tasty. The chow mein was pretty good, and the beef salad was tangy with a fish sauce dressing. I didn't care too much for the pork dish and the seafood curry. I liked how the seafood curry was cooked in a clay platter though- very fun way to cook and present a dish. Overall, I enjoyed my dining experience at Indra, and am glad I didn't stick with my usual pad thai. read more

I walked here every weekend that I went a courtin' my now husband (I used to live in the Westside). The reason? The deep fried bananas. Crisp, sweet, and flavored with sesame seeds in the batter. They are AWESOME. They are super cheap, a couple of bucks to go. Split the 6 pieces that come in the bag. It is a hole in the wall, but the curries are super tasty. I was born and raised in Glendale, and my cousin Joe told me about this place when I was in college. My friend Eileen told me about the Yum Nah (spicy beef) salad and the papaya salad. It converted me from being a garlic pepper beef fan to a Yum Nah salad fan. And any thai place I go to, I compare this dish to the others. (I do not like pad thai--too sweet for my palate.) I often eat it with white rice. Another favorite is the basil eggplant dish with beef. I love the spicy flavor to it. My sister-in-law loves their deep-fried bananas with sesame seeds. I've had thai food in four or five different states, and also in Thai town and in Thailand. The spices are fresher in the Thailand place my cousin-in-law brought us to in September 2003. Parking in the strip mall, parking on the street is limited. It's still more of a family or a small group of friends joint since it is small. It will forever be my favorite restaurant. read more

Really good food at good prices! I always come with my boyfriend and his family since they've been dining at this establishment for years. Beef salad: probably the best beef salad I've eaten! The beef is perfect and marinated in lime juice to perfection! The salad is pretty good as well! Seafood soup: my favorite seafood soup!! It's just so good!! I've been coming to this place with my family for about 10 years now, if not more. Although it has changed in regards to the appearance of it, the food remains as amazing as ever. Our go-to order always includes the Chicken Tom Yum and Pad Thai. I love getting the Thai Iced Tea to drink (yes, it's different from what you're used to. It's still delicious, so get over it), and the fried plantains for dessert. The batter they use has coconut in it and it's soooo good!!!! My husband & I have been eating at Indra for almost 20 years - ever since we were first married and lived within walking distance. The staff is warm and friendly and makes you feel like you're "home". The food is consistently good and can be prepared to your specifications. For example they will sub tofu for meat, use less oil, make your dish less spicy or make it "pet pet" for those who like the authentic Thai steam-coming-out-your-ears hot food experience.
