Chicken Tikka masala Or Paneer Or Lamb Tacos.
Mika C.

YUM!! I came here years ago but haven't been back since they changed management. Although the menu is heavily Indian classics, my favorite is the chicken tikka quesadilla. The tikka masala curry that you can dip in is so delicious. Would love to see more fusion takes here!! We also tried the mango lassi, each taco (chicken, lamb, and paneer - chicken was my fave!), sagh paneer, naan and rice. We got to try the mango kulfi and yum such a great palette cleanser to end the meal. Delicious and the prices here are great. There's plenty of seating and with free parking.

Loved it. Was in the area and randomly came across this place. Inside is simply decored, it has an old school neighborhood restaurant vibe. Spacing is a bit tight with a few tables and booths. The food is great. For starters we got the chicken tikka masala fries and vegetable pakora. They were good, loved the sauces. For the entrees we got the lamb biryani and chicken tikka. We asked for medium spice, but it was lighter than I expected, I feel like we could have gone up to spicy. The mango ice cream was good, had a more icy consistency than cream. Would definitely come back to try more. Service was good. Friendly staff. There's a few parking spots in front or there's street parking.

There aren't many fusions that pair better in my opinion than Indian and Mexican food. From chicken tikka tacos to paneer burritos to lamb quesadillas with masala sauce, the experimental menu at Indimex Eats hits all the right spots of blending the two cultures. The quesadillas were my favorite items with the masala sauce adding a creaminess to the dish. I would love to see even more items that experiment in fusing the cultures. The service was fantastic and the menu also has traditional Indian items.

Tandoori Chicken

I was disappointed on the portion there was no meat on the tandoori chicken left me starving it looked pretty but two thighs has rubbery tendons and just left me hungry Over priced for what I got The person who helped was very kind and helpful but just wasn't happy with this menu item

Non Veg Dinner

This place deserves even more than 5 stars for their flavor. We ordered the non-veg dinner for 2 and we FEASTED! We got one chicken tikka and one fish korma. The chicken tika sauce was so rich and had fresh herbs it was unlike any chicken tika I've ever had, maybe the best I've ever had! The texture of the meats in the sauces was so fresh and the service was like being in someone's living room. Felt like home cooking in the best way possible, complete with Bollywood music videos playing in the tv. Highly recommend this spot for a cute date or small groups!

Chicken Tikka Masala Burrito is absolutely something to marvel at. I was surprised to have Mexican Beans pair so well with Indian flavors, but it's a great source of extra protein. The Masala Wings were truly the highlight of the meal though, as they were so well seasoned. Excellent food, especially for the price, and a guaranteed crowd pleaser.

Food & service was amazing!!! We were in LA for new years and we were looking for food. We had no clue where to go and came across Indimex. Saw that menu and loved the idea of a fusion of Indian and Mexican food. It was FANTASTIC. Service again was fantastic and very hospitable. We know exactly where to go anytime in LA from now on.

I enjoy Indian cuisine a lot and I'm happy I tried this place out. There is a small parking lot on the side of the restaurant. I had chicken tikka masala, sagh paneer, veggie samosa, garlic naan and chicken biryani. I got the dishes in medium, but I could probably use a little more spice to it. To ty the Mexican/Indian fusion I had the chicken tikka taco. There's a small section for the fusion so this is more of an Indian restaurant. Despite that I'd absolutely come back.

Lunch special: Lamb Makhani (top), chicken saag (bottom)

I've been looking for a good Indian food spot around the area and I'm so glad I stumbled upon Indimex Eats! I've had my fair share of great Indian food across the States and was really craving some the minute I came back to LA. There is a small lot out front which is a plus. We came for lunch and got the lunch special, which I highly recommend to anybody! It was soooo filling and the value is insanely good. The soup it comes with was packed with flavor and felt pretty healthy. Saag is my favorite Indian dish so I tend to order it anywhere. The saag here is good! I got it with my lunch special and was happy with it. For the spice lovers: I found that medium spice wasn't quite spicy enough so I asked for some on the side. That said, I really love spicy food so generally I'd just recommend to order one level higher than you normally might. My boyfriend got the lamb makhani with his lunch special and thought it was spectacular! He usually doesn't seek out saucey foods, but found that this dish was great. He got medium spice and I did find that the spice was more noticeable in this dish. We got the garlic naan which I really enjoyed! It's thin (which I love) and served with fresh herb and garlic. I usually don't enjoy any type of bread much, but found myself unable to stop eating this naan. We got some mango ice cream at the end of our meal which was amazing! It was somehow sooooo packed with flavor. The texture was more icy, but we both didn't mind. Service was so good! We felt very welcomed here. The vibe is more casual. There were some fun Indian music videos playing when we went. I think this will be my new go-to Indian restaurant in the area. The price is nice and value is good.

We came with a group on a saturday and they were able to seat us immediately - plenty of parking in the large plaza where the Hat and Shiki Buffet is (previously hometown buffet location). All of the items on the menu were intriguing, but I was eyeballin' the salt and pepper one and the fried tofu. My buddy got the lemongrass "chicken" and also the curry with bread. Since we were eager to try the different types of food, we did a family style and that was the best decision. We also got eggplant, and the rice cake/egg. I thought the rice cake looked underwhelming, but our entire group had a consensus and voted that as the top fave of the night. Everything was super tasty and we left happy and full and with leftovers! Super excited to return and to recommend to others. I look forward to come back to try some of the other items such as the "beef" noodle soup or the bun rieu or pho! I also appreciate that some of the dishes came with rice included -we actually ended up with too much rice, but perfect for leftovers the next day. Upon checking out, there was delicious thing by the cash register that was green and resembled a bundt cake in slices. It was labled mochi pandan, and it was AMAZING. so spongy, so delicious and a little sweet. Perfect end of the night that my buddy got one to go right after. It was made fresh and you can tell by how soft it was. I appreciate that this restaurant has vegetarian versions of common vietnamese and chinese dishes. They all were delicious and unique and did not feel too oily or heavy. They look and taste like meat and also the sauces were 100% on point. Thank you Happy Buddha!!

This is not like any of the other restaurants I've visited in Berkeley or even LaBrea's Little Ethiopia. It's focused on a more luxurious experience with genuinely authentic touches. ** ELEGANTLY ETHIOPIAN ** Warm, welcoming, and elegant, the staff is highly attentive, from the ceremonial hand washing to refilling glasses, and detailed explanation of menu items & Ethiopian culture. Also, the staff gives you your space, much like you'd enjoy your meal and time in Europe. Or as a nice meal is probably honored in Ethiopia. There seems to be a lot of care put into how to enjoy a feast with proper rituals in place. Speaking of honoring, Aunt Yvette's seems to also reserve a high regard for coffee as I sneaked a peek at a Coffee Ceremony on the menu. I will have to come back and try that next time. ** THE FEAST ** When at Ethiopian, it's always about sharing a platter. So after some deliberation, me and my lunch date settled on the Vegan Combo. It has all the fun vegetable options like the Berbere Red Lentils, Cabbage & Carrots, Yellow Split Pea, and Ethiopian Potatoes. We added Chicken Tibs as our protein. However, I really wanted the Cornish Game Hen, but lost in the negotiation part so I will need to return another time to try it (along with the coffee ceremony). As you may know, there are no utensils since you eat with the Injera spongy bread and use your hands. That's why the hand washing with rose water was a nice start to our lovely brunch. We also ordered a shot each of Tej, an authentic Ethiopian honey wine. It was fizzy and had a hint of apple cider vinegar taste, but paired well with the earthy spices of our meal. To fluff up the water sitch, there was an anise, ginger, and citrus water that's like a healthy, African aqua fresca for $5. After we mopped up all the spices sauces and exotic flavors with the ever-refilled injera (spongy, Ethiopian bread) we were stuffed. It was plenty food for the two of us. ** TURN UP THE HEAT ** For fire breathing ghost chili fans and spice freaks who love testing the Scoville scale on their tongues, I highly recommend any item that has MITMITA in it. I asked for extra since I'm one of those spice junkie nut jobs who needs her capsaicin fix with certain foods. Mitmita's flavor notes don't overpower and I was able to sprinkle my meal generously with heat. **NOTE: Mitmita in the ingredients list doesn't mean it's too spicy, but if you ask for extra spicy, it'll give you a good kick in the mouth ;) Good thing there's a list of craft cocktails to squelch the heat.

Each time I've come the waitstaff has been super friendly, and the food amazing. So, when planning a little birthday lunch for my mom's 81st birthday, this was one of the first places I thought of. My mom lives in south LA and we live in the valley, so after picking her up, we wouldn't have to travel far to eat. Although we planned to arrive to the restaurant at 2, traffic was horrible and we arrived at 230pm. After looking for parking, I dropped the fam off at 2:40 so they could sit and look at the menu while I found parking. I get a text from my husband saying they closed at 3 so hurry. This was news to me, as I thought they closed at 5. I found parking and rushed in at 2:48, to see my family outside the restaurant. Perplexed, I went in to ask if we could still eat, as it wasn't yet 3pm. No wait staff came to the front to greet me, so I walked in a bit and asked the waiter if it was okay to eat. The waiter said we close in ten. I said I thought the website said you closed at 5. I must have read it wrong. I understand, but it's not 3 and we came a bit of a distance and it's my mom's 81st birthday. The waiter, whose name is Jack, offered to ask the kitchen if they would still make food. I said yes please would you ask? While Jack was asking, another waiter asked me if I had been helped. I told him yes, that Jack was asking the kitchen if we could still have lunch. This waiter says, we're closing in 10. I'd like to have lunch too. And walks away. Yes, with shade. Jack returns and says it's fine as long as we can order within a few minutes of getting the menu. I say great and we all come in. The 2nd waiter takes our order with the least amount of personality he possibly can, and the whole lunch is slightly awkward and we're not able to truly enjoy ourselves with the feeling of "we better hurry up and eat" lingering. By the time we ordered and received our food (which was delicious as usual) , there were still 4 other groups of customers there, and we actually left the restaurant within a minute or two after the last customers before us. Also, no one came around to ask how our food was and if we needed anything. I'm giving 3 stars because this experience didn't quite sit right with me. Yes, it was near closing, but your doors weren't closed and there was no sign saying last call/order at 2:45 or anything like that. I feel like once the kitchen approved making our lunch, customer service should have been at its peak for paying customers, who gave no attitude and tried to be as polite with the ask as possible. It was not. I still tipped 25%, because Jack (waiter 1) was polite and my 81 old mama who I was celebrating raised me that way, but I'm not sure I'll patronize them again.
