I want to come here every day and try everything on the menu. It's so dang good, packed with flavor, unique, home cooking. I'm a sauce person, and these sauces got it going on. It also has my new favorite chai latte in the city. If I find myself in the area again, I'm going.
Decided to check out this new family business serving delicious Bengali food, a much needed addition to the South Asian food scene in Los Angeles. The owners patiently walked me through their menu, to which they are still continuing to add new concepts. I splurged on the lamb shank and am grateful that I did. The meat was incredibly soft, juicy, and tender; the braising liquid was addictive; and the biryani was complemented the strong spices in the gravy perfectly. Although the restaurant interior and tableware are humble, the food is exceptional with the high quality you would expect to find at a fine dining restaurant. Rather, Roshana Bilash is approachable and feels like you are entering their home as you are immediately helped to their complementary chai. There are a few parking spots in front, otherwise there is usually plenty of street parking in the neighborhood.
The lamb shank was one of the best I've ever had. The shank was cooked perfectly and still had a slight chew to it and the sauce had so much depth and warmth to it. It's on the heavy side, but the flavors were on point. The paratha I got on the side was so flakey with that nice slight chew in the middle. The shop is simple. Some seats and a small parking lot outside. Can't wait to come back and try more of their dishes!
I saw someone online get a wrap here and it was really big so I wanted to try one too. I got a shish kabob wrap and it was pretty big! It was $3 more than just ordering it on a plate, but it was filled with rice, sauce and shish kabob. And lettuce. The flavor was pretty good and it was nice that the size of the wrap was really big. I liked how the flavors went well together. I think the meat could've been more evenly well distributed on the inside however. It's a unique take on a wrap too because it's Bengali food in a wrap as opposed to the traditional flavors you would find in a wrap. I have a feeling the chicken tikka Misala wrap here would probably taste a lot better and will try that one out next time. The service is good but they do prepare everything fresh, so keep that in mind as you order as it won't come out that quickly. The ambiance is nice they have a few tables and they bring the food out to the table. There's a tv in the corner to watch as well. Worth checking out for an affordable big wrap!
1st time here, restaurant is clean & people running the place are friendly but we got the Goat Biryani and it wasn't good at all !!! Lacking spices & salt with very little amount of meat in it! Their menu is also very limited for a Bangladeshi restaurant in K-Town area, I didn't see any vegetables or fish items or anything except Dal (Lentil Soup) to go with White Basmati Rice which is an everyday Bengali staple!
this was a delightful experience. We enjoyed everything from the service and helpful man behind the counter guiding us on what to order as we've never tried bengali food before. The rice dishes were so delicious, particularly loved how the rice was spiced. And the complimentary chai is a nice touch :) very casual atmosphere which we appreciated!
Came here yesterday after church service to get some good Bengali/Indian food. The parking lot was fairl small, and our group was contemplating whether to park in a compact spot or find street parking. After the parking situation, we stepped into the restaurant. The AC seemed to be broken but they had a huge fan circulating cold air. I ordered the Morog Polao with a side salad, but got to try small bites of other things my group got. The food was really good! I didn't really know what Bengali cuisine was until I came here but I think its safe to say that I like it now! The chicken on the morog polao was tender and came in a yellow curry sauce that had tons of coconut milk in it. The price was also insanely good for what you get. Getting a meal to fill you up for $13 is kind of insane, considering the other options you have in the area. They also do goat biryani on the weekends. I got a whiff of some fresh biryani and my goodness... I was really taken aback. Definitely coming back to try that and all of the other foods I missed!
If you're craving authentic Bangladeshi flavors done right, Roshona Bilash is an absolute gem. Their doi fuchka is hands down one of the best I've ever had perfectly crispy shells filled with tangy, spiced yogurt that hits every note just right. The morog polou was equally impressive fragrant, rich, and beautifully balanced, with tender chicken that melts in your mouth. You can tell a lot of care goes into the preparation. I also tried their Poila Boishakh platter, and it completely stole the show. The variety and authenticity were incredible, but what really stood out was the bhorta easily the best I've ever had. Each one was packed with flavor, fresh, and made with that homemade touch that's hard to find. Overall, Roshona Bilash delivers not just food, but an experience that feels nostalgic and comforting. Highly recommend to anyone looking for true Bangladeshi cuisine you won't be disappointed.
Really happy this opened up in my neighborhood. I've been waiting to see what takes the place of Sunshine Thai, and Roshona Bilash delivers on the same homey vibes. We came for lunch on a Friday and ordered the tandoori chicken, lamb shank, and nihari bone marrow stew. Everything was delicious! The nihari was out of this world. Super friendly staff. Looking forward to coming back.
Multigenerational, cheap by any standard, and the food is absolutely amazing. It tastes like you are eating in someone's home, and the welcome you receive upon ordering is just as warm. There's free chai on the Southernmost table, where they stack the napkins, along with sugar and Splenda you can use to sweeten it to taste. Roshona Bilash is the best of what you'd want in a Bangladeshi restaurant, a local haunt, and the spot that replaced an irreplaceable restaurant all at once. For almost 30 years, I had a favorite LA restaurant. Multi generational, amazing food, they knew my whole family by name and we knew theirs. It felt like home. It was a Thai restaurant, and it was the standard by which I judged other Thai restaurants. But also the standard by which I judged my dates/friends. If they loved the food, they were worthy. If they couldn't see past its humble looks, maybe their taste was a bit suspect. I stood on the sidewalk crying months ago when I saw the sign for Roshona Bilash that was to replace my it. But tonight I tried the food. And it was amazing. I couldn't have asked for a better replacement of my favorite restaurant. Little has changed. The door is the same, and there is a sign that they're closed on Mondays hand-written in Sharpie taped to the door. The layout unchanged, save for the elongated counter and the now empty hot table that had housed fried bananas and coconut desserts since before I could drive. Even the white tile with pink flowers in the bathroom that I've known since I was 15 is familiar. Yet amazingly, even though the Sunshine family has moved on, Ibrahim, Jasmine, and their kids (Shaq's smile is the first thing that greets you) carry on the same familial kindness that made its restaurant predecessor so charming. Bangladeshi food isn't new to the area. There are many others around that have been lauded by critics and as revered and brilliant as the late Jonathan Gold. My family has been eating at the various incarnations of the Halal meat market-come-restaurant on 3rd since the 90s, before the area was dubbed Little Bangladesh, and when you could only get special biryanis on Wednesdays. We were the kind of family who, rather than being deterred by eating in front of the raw goat head behind the counter, relished instead in knowing our food was that fresh. It's not Roshona Bilash's fault that they have so much to live up to in my eyes. With all of that history, all of that meaning, loving this new spot was a tall order. But Ibrahim used to own a shop up the street, too. He ate at Sunshine, and asked the building's owner about moving into it when it closed. Like Sunshine, there's something comforting and homey about Roshona Bilash. The biryani isn't dyed. It looks modest, but wafts with cardamom. The chai is rich, and complimentary. Even the Nihari (bone marrow stew) manages to be meaty, rather than slick with oil. I've never had anything like the thick brown chutney they served with the chicken wings, which Shaq proudly told me was special because it had elephant apple in it. What's more amazing than eating something totally new? Fibrous, garlicky, and redolent of something with a horseradish pungency. I couldn't have asked for a more delicious, unpretentious, and satisfying replacement. It's like the location was only made for restaurants that are unassuming, affordable, and absolutely delectable. You'll leave with your belly full and your heart warmed.
I love the food here. The restaurant is a very simple but reasonably comfortable "shop." Its only real weak spot is adjusting to the demand created for To Go orders by the May 2026 Eater L.A. review. Otherwise this was a pleasant surprise with a delicious but not fancy lamb shank. I hope that they can soon offer vegetable sides to go with their savory meat and rice offerings.
The food was so good!! We ordered the following items: - Chicken tikka plate + roti: juicy chicken, rice, salad + flat bread. Every culture has a variation of chicken and rice dish. This version is perfection. - Nihari (bone marrow stew): It's a flavor dense shredded beef stew. Make sure to get some flat bread for dipping or rice to dunk in. - Veggie Singara (it's like a samosa): perfectly crispy dough and the most scrumptious filling. The green sauce that it comes with is the perfect pairing. - Fuchka (crispy morsel filled with potato): there's a nice contrast of textures. Such a fun starter. The food was fresh and every bite was a flavor bomb. Try it out. The order was more than enough for 2 people and you get to try a variety of different items. Service might be slow, but worth the wait. Bonus: free masala chai Con: parking can be a bit tight, but I didn't have any issues finding street parking.
At this small unassuming spot, Roshona Bilash offers incredible Bengali cuisine. The space holds half a dozen tables and the small kitchen makes everything to order. Roshona Kabob: It's cooked to order on the tandoor, so expect a bit of a wait especially of there's a crowd. The kabob has an elegant structure, more rectangular with symmetrical layers of flank steak. The ground beef and beef fat cranks up the flavor and texture levels. The meat is skewered, grilled, and de-skewered. It's actually rather colorful, dusted with chili pepper and covered with raw red onions, cucumbers, tomatoes, and lettuce. The polao (basmati rice) is fragrant, buttery, and tangy from the sumac. So the kabob slice in some of the herby green sauce. I ordered a side of achar, a reddish-brown sauce with serious firepower from its pickled and spiced ingredients. The creamy white sauce is a cooling salve if the heat builds up too quickly. They offer little cups of hot complimentary chai. The mellow spices and very creamy beverage reset your tastebuds for more bites of this delicious meal. Parking: The tiny mini-mall lot has a few spaces. You'll probably walk a few blocks to find street parking without permits or meters. read more

A small mom and pop restaurant serving up Bengali food! You can find Bangladesh specific dishes in addition to more mainstream Indian dishes. The staff are very friendly and it feels super homey. They have chai and plain rice on tap!!! The World Cup game was going on and the whole restaurant was watching together in anticipation, very wholesome community vibe. Lamb Biryani - 5/5, the half portion was huge! Lamb was super tender and tasted really good with an order of curry. Fuchka - 5/5, delicious!!! Similar to Pani puri. I love the grated hard boiled egg over the chickpea potato mixture in crunchy wafer balls served with a tamarind water. Beef Nihari - 3/5, this stew was a bit too thin/runny for me. Saw this place on The Infatuation and wanted to check it out and I am so glad I did! The first thing you see when you walk in is a pastry case with delicious looking ready-to-eat savory items, so if you are in a rush, they've got you covered. But if you've got time to sit down, their menu is so reasonably priced (and they don't skimp on the portions) that you should treat yourself to a few entrees . My boyfriend and I shared the nihari (bone marrow) and the morog polao (chicken leg in a delicious sauce). Absolutely knocked my socks off. The owner is so nice and has been in the neighborhood for ages! I can't wait to come back and try everything on the menu read more

As a born and raised Los Angelino, I've had my share of great little food spots around town. It's not often, however, that a great little spot comes around that so enthralls me, so thoroughly hooks me with its distinct flavors and warm ambience, that I feel an overwhelming need to return over and over again on a weekly basis. Roshona Bilash is a special restaurant. It is family-run. You will always find mother, father, son, or daughter working in the kitchen and at the register, serving food from their country of origin, Bangladesh. This will not be like any south asian culinary experience you've had before. It's a charming blend of traditional recipes and LA-grown inspiration. Everything is prepared to order. A particular highlight is the Roshona Kebab, a wholly original layered beef skewer which the chef spent over a year developing prior to the restaurant's opening. All of their chicken dishes are stellar, so juicy and full of flavor. And their snacks are not like any you will find anywhere else in LA. The made-to-order naan, paratha, and roti will sooth your soul. And I would recommend trying one of the kebabs in a wrap! Great for on-the-go. In just a matter of months, Roshona Bilash has earned a special place in my heart. It's a true no-frills establishment, with everything served on disposable dish wear like a family cookout. You can tell this family really cares about providing good food to the community (at an unbelievable price!!). It's a rare and beautiful thing. read more

Absolutely loved the food here! The flavors were truly authentic with a rich Bengali taste that really stood out. The service was excellent .. attentive, friendly, and quick. The ambience was welcoming and comfortable, making it a great spot to relax and enjoy a halal meal. I tried their Fuska (chickpeas with tamarind sauce) and Murog Pulao (chicken curry with fragrant rice), and both were absolutely delicious.
