I have the absolute best stylist - Ashley H- at Indie Mane. She is kind, talented, and flexible. I've recently made a full transition to wearing wigs as a preference. This is her work on a human hair wig that I needed to have cut and recurled. She knows exactly what to do and is so understanding and supportive. The front desk staff is great and it's easy to check in. Water or coffee is generally offered as well. I have been going and seeing Stefani for a few months now... She's amazing! I know when I go, I can relax knowing that I will be happy with the end result. No need to supervise or micromanage or worry in the least, I really don't even have to look up for my phone if I don't want to. She's very accommodating and very honest about what she thinks is best for your hair to give you the results that you want, but ultimately will do whatever you choose versus talking you out of something that you would like to try (like so many of us have encountered. Also, I've never experienced that gut punch feeling when you get to the end and they tell you your total... She's very transparent about what you're looking to have done and what you're looking to spend, it never feels awkward or surprising at the end. I can just be real with her on that on some days my budget is a little tighter than others... she's never made me feel uncomfortable about it or that she has cut any corners or that I've gone without. Overall, it seems as though the employees all seem to work well together and jump in to help one another to make sure that each and everyone's clients are all happy at the end. Kylie gave my kid an experience they will never forget. I am forever grateful. It was their first gender affirming cut, and everyone at the salon was so wonderful and respectful. The cut itself is perfect. Easy to manage for a child, and Kylie treated them like a mature person able to make their own decisions about their appearance, looking to them instead of to me for answers during the consultation. I was looking for a place that could do color and I really wanted it done on the day that I was calling for the appointment! I found Indie Mane and they were able to get me an appointment with hair stylist Ali. I was unsure of exactly what I wanted when I went into the shop so I showed Ali several different pictures of different colors but explained that I was completely open to just about anything. I just wanted a dramatic change. She talked to Belinda, the shop owner, he came over and talked to me. Between the three of us we agreed on a color well it was more than one color and Ali started to work on my hair. She was very friendly and so was Belinda. I felt very comfortable in the salon and the surroundings were very nice. The shop has been open since September and the only thing that I didn't care for was trying to find a place to park but I found that on the side street you could park on the right hand side but not the left hand side, the left hand side has resident only parking signs. So the question is did we accomplish something dramatic? The answer is yes! Take a look at the pictures to see how my hair turned out. I also found out they keep track of what they use on your hair so when I go back to get the roots touched up they will know what I need. I was frantically looking for a last-minute appointment in the Fountain Square/Downtown area (on a Friday afternoon, no less), and someone recommended I try Indie Mane. Boy, am I glad I did!! After having my bangs butchered at another salon, I called to schedule a Bang Trim. Having never been before, it was pretty easy to park on the street out front (for free). They had a sign posted out on the sidewalk for clear visibility. I checked in early at the front desk, and was assisted soon after. I'd originally felt a little out of my element with the posh vibes of the shop/clientele/stylists --especially compared to how I was feeling about myself-- but was very quickly made to feel at ease. My stylist, Lauren, was friendly, engaging, and super positive about fixing my cut, even though she could not believe how bad it was. She truly did a fantastic job figuring out what needed to be done. I had been looking for a new place since my stylist of 8 years moved away, I just didn't expect to find it under these circumstances. This was overall okay. The salon was very cute, and everyone was very friendly. However, they made me book online for my very first booking, and all of the options were very unclear. So when I got to my appointment, the service I was getting wasn't really what i want, and on top of that, it was very overpriced for just getting a color put over my hair. I thought I was paying for a balayage. I ended up liking my hair so it was fine, and I paid and still tipped. I just think they should have consultations to avoid these things, and I definitely didn't like how vague they were about what my price would be. We came in during Taylor Swift weekend. The only good thing about the services were that we got in. Our appointments were at 1:30 and we both had to fix our hair before the show at 6. My hair was nothing as I requested. I requested it to be big crimped/perm look. I got a very basic curl. I asked the stylist to at least NOT brush out the curls to give it a more full perm look to match the Taylor Swift hair. She brushed it out anyways. I filed a review a month ago and was advised someone would reach out to me and no one did. The pricing was different per stylist. The one I received was more expensive as she did bridal hair. The way nothing held up, I'm not sure how they did bridal styles to last hours. throughout the service I tried as well as my daughter to redirect the stylist and reiterating what I wanted and showing the inspo photo again. The scheduling is so easy with just a few text messages to a real person to confirm your appointment time. The location is walkable (or bike-able) from a lot of downtown or Fountain Square locations especially with its proximity to the cultural trail. Street parking is free in fletcher place anyways. The interior design is great, and the space is well-maintained with clean bathrooms and frequent floor sweeping. I recommend Jeanie as a hairstylist for curly/textured hair. Julia way missed the mark... my cut is super jagged/choppy and uneven and it only looks worse because she over processed my already blonde hair.
