They offer great variety of Indian Cuisine, both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. They have 3 offers included in their Sunday Special Deals that we chose Channa Bhatura ($5.99). They had another deal going on: buy 1, Get 1 free Naan (5-9pm daily) that we used and ordered Keema Naan. We also ordered "Chatore Thali". Everything was fresh and tasty and we enjoyed our meal as we love spicy food. I really loved the Naan and Channa Bhatura. On our way out, we also got a box of their sweets and enjoyed them at home. A co-worker had suggested this restaurant as she had been many times, and was pleasantly surprised. Upon entering this restaurant, I automatically loved the décor, with a lot of room between the tables, and inviting music playing on the speaker system. This restaurant has a take-out section in one part, and a dine-in section in the other. I was seated in the dine-in section, with menus already placed on the table for perusal. I chose the Tomato Soup to start, with the Non-Veg Thali as my main, with Butter Chicken and Lentils as my item choices. The only thing that I wasn't too happy with was the service; it was very slow, and the servers seemed to take their time, even though there weren't a lot of people in the restaurant. I did however LOVE the automatic robots bringing the food to the tables; one was a cat, the other was a woman wearing a sari. This was actually the highlight of the visit; very good way of keeping guests entertained! The Tomato Soup came first, with a few pieces of bread, and a hint of spice. It was quite good, and I did enjoy it, although it was a tad spicy for me at times. The Non-Veg Thali was HUGE, and very delicious! I chose the Regular Naan, which I used to dip in the Butter Chicken, along with a large serving of White Rice; I was pleasantly surprised at how well everything tasted. Dessert was the Gulab Jamun, very tasty and fresh! When I was leaving, I noticed that the line-up for the take-out counter was almost out-the-door, and I can see why; food was delicious, with large portions, and good prices. This restaurant is my favorite Indian restaurant I have ever been to in the USA or Canada. When I say the food was amazing !!!! I mean amazing!!! I wish I could give it more than 5 star!!! I ordered biriyani, goat curry, chole Batura, sweet lassi, salted lassi, badam milk, a box of sweets and dosa. It was all better than the next!!! The sauce tasted burnt, so I wonder if the base, tarka had burnt?. We also ordered the non veg thalli - butter chicken was tasty, not keen on the goat curry though. Also shahi paneer which was tasty, 3 pieces of paneer let it down. Rice, naan standard. I can't say anything really stood out. We ordered the mini samosas which were really nice but they forgot to add my chutney (paid for separate). So month later I visited the Brampton branch. So much better! We had a veg thali, non-veg thali and a masala dosa which was beautifully packaged and by the time I got it home was edible. We ordered from doordash and took around an hour for delivery but no issues since the food has good taste. I was surprised as the VEG THALI is very GOOD for the price. Best part is you get to choose the veg curries. Liked the shahi paneer more than the dal makhani and veg Manchurian. The sweet was gajar halwa which was a little disappointing, may be the ghee smelled bad and it lacked sweetness. This review is for a small order and not the main food items sold here. Picked a Paneer Paratha that comes with a raita (yogurt and boondi-mini chick pea flour balls) and some paneer pakodas. The restaurant was super just before 9 pm and guess that is dinner time for most of the patrons and students that were around. Lots of take outs and tables almost full. The order took a lot longer than it should have. Many thali orders with flew out that were orders well after. The paneer paratha was big, but the paneer was way too thin spread. Would have preferred the paratha to bit smaller but with a slightly thicker layer of paneer. In some morsels all we could taste was dough and no paneer. The pakoras were perfectly fried and had a thin layer of chutney hot sauce that provided a good flavour. The outer batter not too thin and not too thick and was perfect. Do want to try all the rest of food specially the Chinese Thali that I believe I can't get anywhere. Updated Oct-2017 visit Ordered a Vegetarian Chinese Thali, Vegetarian Indian Thali and a Paneer Paratha. The Chinese Thali Food. Are out piping hot. The Fried Rice and Vegetarian Manchurian was OK if compared to a genuine Hakka Restaurant, however for a Punjabi Restaurant it was good. the owners need to take the quality control seriously. Lot of these Indian restaurants think that they can serve anything to the customers and they will gulp it down without any questions. If you are taking out, make sure you CHECK your food before leaving. Recent example of burnt Naans they handed out to me that I noticed only after reaching home. And the cooks do not wear gloves while handling the food. this is so unhygienic. I tried talked to the manager, Seema, and she did not even have time to address the issue and hung up. The food is good portion wise and taste wise as well. The prices are very fair and they have a 15% of for Sheridan College students. My only trouble with this establishment is that the service is extremely slow. Every time we dine in the restaurant, whether it's a small or large order, we have to wait quite a while. They don't seem to be understaffed but perhaps need to provide better training to the servers. Other than that, their meat/veg thali, Channa bhatura, pav bhaji, chat papdi are all very good. Beware the new dining room. While we have been coming to this place for years for their excellent food and service, today we had the misfortune of eating in the new dining room area. The food was more expensive, but we would have gladly paid more for a good dining experience. Unfortunately the table and dishes were not clean, the serving staff were not friendly or helpful and the food was disappointing. The pakoras were cold and doughy and tasteless. We ordered eggplant bharta that tasted overwhelmingly of tomato paste, and all of the curries were cold. The rice was stale. The only good thing was the bread. Perhaps they just took cold food from the morning and stuck it in a bowl without bothering to heat it up. At the end of the meal they don't offer to pack up the left overs for us. Sitting right opposite the subzi Mandi store, it has Indian right in the name. The menu offers a lot from South Indian to Chinese to the traditional Indian preparation that are expected from such places. Let's start from the bad. Unfortunately most of the food that comes out of the kitchen screams of pain and suffering that the people eating the food will have to endure. The Chinese Thali shall always be forever, the butt of all Chinese jokes henceforth as it is the most 'left behind' meal. The Indian thali is a notch better with inconsistent rotis that will mutate with every visit. Again, not for week of stomach yet it does seem to suite the pallet of some. The lentil or daal is good and most people would like the tandoori options as well. I am strictly talking about the vegetarian options at this point. The non vegetarian menu is a lot better with good preparation and portions that are just enough for two(ish) people. Chicken lovers will find the chicken curry and tandoori options a better bang for the buck. The highlight of the experience is the staff that is courteous and polite. For each our visits, the place seemed understaffed though they kept on going with a smile. I'm not totally disappointed yet it's not going to be at the top of my list either. read more
