Methi Bhatura Combo
Neha G.

Budget-friendly North-Indian Street Food in Canada Price: ~$40 CAD for two Review: We were here for lunch on Saturday. The restaurant was busy but not too crowded that you have to wait. We ordered Golgappe, Bhalla Papdi Chaat and Methi Bhatura combo. Everything looked fairly budget-friendly. Golgappe were amazing, it was served with no-fuss one flavoured paani and I will like to go back just for this. You can skip ordering Bhalla Papdi Chaat - it was below average. In Bhatura, you should order combo instead of regular plate as it comes with sides of aloo and raita. While everything was full of flavor that includes chhole, aloo, raita and pickled carrots, I felt Bhatura's texture could be better. It was too thin to be called bhatura. Order one plate for two as it's huge.

Veg thali - shahi paneer, dhal makhani and khaddi with pakora. Brampton branch

This review is for the Mississauga branch. Could not find on Yelp. Ehhh the food was quite mediocre. We ordered the cholle bhature, price was great, taste not so good. The sauce tasted burnt, so I wonder if the base, tarka had burnt?. We also ordered the non veg thalli - butter chicken was tasty, not keen on the goat curry though. Also shahi paneer which was tasty, 3 pieces of paneer let it down. Rice, naan standard. I can't say anything really stood out. We ordered the mini samosas which were really nice but they forgot to add my chutney (paid for separate). So month later I visited the Brampton branch. So much better! We had a veg thali, non-veg thali and a masala dosa which was beautifully packaged and by the time I got it home was edible. Past experiences of buying dosa as a take away has meant a soggy dosa - this was great! Food was all well seasoned and tasty. See pictures.

3 springrolls $1

We ordered from doordash and took around an hour for delivery but no issues since the food has good taste. I was surprised as the VEG THALI is very GOOD for the price. Best part is you get to choose the veg curries. Liked the shahi paneer more than the dal makhani and veg Manchurian. The sweet was gajar halwa which was a little disappointing, may be the ghee smelled bad and it lacked sweetness. The MURG LABABDAR comes with boneless chicken and the gravy was very TASTY and meat well cooked. 3 springrolls for $1 and 2 samosa for $1 are equally good.

This review is for a small order and not the main food items sold here. Picked a Paneer Paratha that comes with a raita (yogurt and boondi-mini chick pea flour balls) and some paneer pakodas. The restaurant was super just before 9 pm and guess that is dinner time for most of the patrons and students that were around. Lots of take outs and tables almost full. The order took a lot longer than it should have. Many thali orders with flew out that were orders well after. The paneer paratha was big, but the paneer was way too thin spread. Would have preferred the paratha to bit smaller but with a slightly thicker layer of paneer. In some morsels all we could taste was dough and no paneer. The pakoras were perfectly fried and had a thin layer of chutney hot sauce that provided a good flavour. The outer batter not too thin and not too thick and was perfect. Do want to try all the rest of food specially the Chinese Thali that I believe I can't get anywhere. Updated Oct-2017 visit Ordered a Vegetarian Chinese Thali, Vegetarian Indian Thali and a Paneer Paratha. The Chinese Thali Food. Are out piping hot. The Fried Rice and Vegetarian Manchurian was OK if compared to a genuine Hakka Restaurant, however for a Punjabi Restaurant it was good. The Vegetarian Chilli was amazing with Veggie Soy pieces, which is missing in almost all Punjabi restaurants and definitely even in Hakka Restaurants. The Indian Thali was good, but found the dishes lacked flavour and seasonings. The quantity in both Thalis was very good. The Paneer Paratha was between than last time. Paneer stuffing perfect. Never got to see the bill, but was told the amount that I paid on plastic. Didn't think at the time, however after the fact it seems suspicious.

Check your take-out food before leaving

the owners need to take the quality control seriously. Lot of these Indian restaurants think that they can serve anything to the customers and they will gulp it down without any questions. If you are taking out, make sure you CHECK your food before leaving. Recent example of burnt Naans they handed out to me that I noticed only after reaching home. And the cooks do not wear gloves while handling the food. this is so unhygienic. I tried talked to the manager, Seema, and she did not even have time to address the issue and hung up. Not sure what quality measures they are taking in the kitchen bit it would be a serious health issue if someone eats and falls sick.

The food is good portion wise and taste wise as well. The prices are very fair and they have a 15% of for Sheridan College students. My only trouble with this establishment is that the service is extremely slow. Every time we dine in the restaurant, whether it's a small or large order, we have to wait quite a while. They don't seem to be understaffed but perhaps need to provide better training to the servers. Other than that, their meat/veg thali, Channa bhatura, pav bhaji, chat papdi are all very good. I tried the Masala chai today and it was very tasty!

I always say I was born in the wrong era, I wish I was born when diners and milkshakes and drive ins were the popular thing to do. Well turns out history repeats itself and I am here for it. Okay back to the milkshakes and ice cream, without further ado here is my review: She's Nuts Bubble Waffle - creamy thick vanilla ice cream topped off with Nutella, chocolate sauce, nuts and a ferrero rocher. It was all wrapped in a freshly made bubble waffle! I loooved this one because I swear there are no places in Mississauga where you can get bubble waffles and now that I found them, I'm always going back hehe Unbrûléevable (creme brûlée) Milkshake - the flavours were soooo sweet with a hint of that burnt caramel, topped off with a waffle biscuit and rimmed with little chocolate ball thingies this one looked and tasted delicious! Overall I loved both the ice cream and waffle and the milkshake, they have many more flavours to try! However the desserts aren't the only thing I appreciated it, the staff here were super sweet and from what I understand it's a women owned local business! Y'all know I'm all about empowering my queens! They opened not too long ago in August 2020, just about a year now and I wish them all the luck, they are already killing it with a second location in brampton! Thank you shake it and co for the amazing desserts, friendly service and hospitality! See you ladies soon, cheers. Check them out y'all!

It is on the smaller side, so they usually ask customers to wait outside and they'll text you when your order is ready, so they can limit the number of people inside their store. There is an overhang so you can be sheltered from the weather if you did not come by car. The menu did not disappoint! The milkshakes were creamy, tasty and so aesthetically pleasing! The iced cream does melt quickly though so it may get messy, especially in the summer. Definitely worth it though! Parking is a breeze since the store shares the medium sized parking lot with the rest of the plaza. Transit from downtown Toronto can be quite the mission however, and you'll have to transfer from TTC to MiWay.

Tried the strawberry milkshake, Nutella hot chocolate, and French crepe with an apple crumble inspired topping called pomme pilot, one of Demetres favorites. By far the strawberry milkshake was the best I've ever had; the balance of tartness and sweetness with the fresh strawberries was the best! The Nutella hot chocolate was also delicious, and came with a roasted marshmallow, and had a lighter sweetness which complemented the French crepe well! The French crepe tasted really good on its own, and their ice cream seemed to be made in house with a lighter sweetness as well to work with all the toppings. It's not often I come across a dessert cafe that's so well thought out. Kudos!

It does make you feel good to sit here. The vegan options that we care about for the last decade have actually changed a bit. Disappointing. Took overseas family this time. Many different options were selected by family. They did like it. The portions are big and some of them are suitable to be shared. The vegan Takes Two to Tango comes with mango sorbet. It was OK but not great. Missed the earlier options. Comes topped with strawberry and banana. While many options are available for ice creams and even whipped cream - none are available at DD.

I've had a lot of tiramisu in my life and have tried them in Italy. Nonna Lia is on par with Italy and truly some of the best I've ever had! THIS is what you expect when you're looking for a tiramisu. The mascarpone was velvety and sweetened just right. The espresso came through but wasn't too strong. And there were no chocolate shavings in sight hahaha. I'm a believer in no chocolate in classic tiramisu!! The strawberry tiramisu was out of this woooorld. Think strawberry shortcake but with the same mascarpone cream in the OG tiramisu. I kept staring at each bite, like how did they make this? How can I recreate this?? Lol. It was just so good. I was literally saying "omg" after each bite. I was blown away. I received the tiramisu pop for free, as I was one of the first to visit their new location in Brampton. It tasted exactly like the OG tiramisu but just in a popsicle form! I know I said no chocolate, but this actually worked well and was a very clever and unique idea.
