Remember kids, a cheap product isn't good and a good product isn't cheap... it definitely applies…read moreto golf courses, as well. I felt sorry for myself playing here. From the tee box to the fairways, to the roughs, and the greens; this poor course needed so much attention and maintenance. I'm not necessarily asking for pristine, how about just a fairway that is mainly grass and not feel like you've stepped on the moon surface. On a normal and decent course, one of the best view was to look back; not here, it was hard to look back or look forward. On the bright side, 18th hole was pretty decent. Island style and the greens was quite nice. They obviously spent all their budget to this hole. lol

Forty dollars ended up being about the right price for this course, but unfortunately that's about…read morethe only positive thing I can say. Nearly every fairway is lined with houses, which makes the layout feel extremely tight and repetitive. The greens were in very poor condition and clearly not maintained to a standard that makes the round enjoyable. The biggest issue, however, was the marshal. Easily one of the rudest marshals I've ever encountered. On one hole he insisted I tee off while the group ahead of us was only about 280 yards out. I told him I carry the ball around 300 and didn't want to risk hitting into them, and he responded by saying he "doubted that." It completely killed the vibe of the round and irritated the rest of my group, especially considering some of them had driven over three hours to play here. After reading through other reviews, it seems like this same marshal is a common denominator in a lot of negative experiences. That should probably be addressed if the course wants to improve its reputation. Overall, between the layout, the greens, and the staff experience, it's not a place I'd go out of my way to play again.

tldr; high-tech fun concept, but a bit pricey…read more I've been a couple times and had fun each time. You can make reservations ahead of time to save time. You check in upstairs and go through a brief tutorial. The technology tracks each stroke so you don't have to keep score and it's more difficult to cheat. You can also play the holes out of order if there's a big group in front of you. Each hole has a difficult obstacle that earns your bonus points. It's nice to be inside especially during the Houston summer. The game goes fairly quickly. The game play is accessible for a wide variety from family fun to corporate group outings to date night. Overall it's a fun concept with decent food. Downtown parking might be tricky. Apparently they validate parking so maybe it's not so bad.

We loved all the challenging holes. The decor was colorful. The food was amazing! I loved the Texas Tailpipes, Korean BBQ Bao Buns, and Atlanta Hot Sandwich. I will say the table reservation was interesting. They have a lot of tables labeled reserved but no one is sitting there. I tried to ask a waitress about my table and said you have to reserve one and ran away. She didn't even let me finish my sentence. I asked another waitress and she listened to me and found my reservation and apologized for the other waitress' behavior. The manager did come by to give us some great service so we ended the night on a good note.

That being said, the value cannot be matched - even from most municipal courses. A round plus cart is only going to cost you around $30 and that price is even lower on the week days and in the afternoon. One of the other pluses is that you will have no problem booking a tee time basically whenever you desire. Typically, there are only a handful of golfers at the course even on a Saturday. The negatives are that this is a very no frills golf course. Many times there are large patches of dirt in the fairways and when you do find grass - it is essentially of the quality you would find in your back yard. The greens are particularly slow. I'm not sure what type of grass they use, but it might just be the same used in the fairway cut shorter - very strange. I know that they have been restricted on the amount of water they used due to the drought conditions. That could be a contributing factor. Even with these negatives, I do like coming out here regularly. I can afford to play this course frequently and you will rarely have a group behind you "breathing down your neck" because the tee times are so close together.
