A very odd course layout, jaw dropping fast greens, none traditional course design, all makes this stand out as fighter jet ride that ends in a club house that has a bigger personality than Elvis and Vegas. Off you go on a par 5 that dog legs left then right. And if you ever make it to the green, u get a marble on ice experience that is sure to leave you wonder about the rest of the 17 holes. But a much needed break comes quickly as the 4th hole is a movie legend with a plaque to celebrate it's uniqueness. This stands on it's own like the TPC Sawgrass #17 or Amen Corner at Augusta. With a bit of imagination, and a challenge of the "going for it" movie theme from your friends, this is like top golf, except not fake like a Treasures employee. The rest of the course is the same beautiful surroundings, Ferrari fast greens, trees to bat down your shots with a higher percentage than Mutumbo, and breath taking views to sooth the ever building depression. The event was the Ben Johnson Memorial Cowboy Classic. The country club is one of the oldest and by far, the friendliest I have ever had the pleasure of visiting. The staff was on point, professional and always accomodating. They served us a 3-course dinner with grace and lots of charm! the food was very good. We had a petite filet topped with lump crabmeat and a bearnaise sauce on the side with perfectly grilled asparagus and roasted fingerling potatoes. The best part? The homemade vanilla topped with your choice of fudge or butterscoth syrup. The butterscotch was heavenly (Jocelyn, our server, even gave me a second spoonful!) Parking was easy and valet service is available of course. My advice? Pinky out!

Came here for the Clay Court Championships during free qualifying weekend! Parking is in the…read moreneighborhood and it got crowded quick. I parked about a 10 minute walk away from the entrance. I thought the tournament was organized very well. It was easy to find open seats, and the workers did a good job of managing the crowds. The food options were okay, they sold out of some stuff by the afternoon. I settled for a hamburger since I think they ran out of some BBQ items. Decent amount of little shops to visit, but nothing worth buying in my opinion. Cute photo ops and decor. Felt like a little tennis village. Overall, it was really cool to see professional tennis up close for free. The grounds are kept clean and the country club definitely gives off a luxurious vibe!

I told the pro in the shop that I came to visit my friend but he didn't wanted to play due to the weather. I ask him if we could pay to you the range since I live in Bryan, Tx. He was grateful to charge a small amount so we could hit some balls. They let us use a cart so we did not to walk . It was a great time using the range and give my friend to exercises. We only saw the cart girl once during our round. Golf carts were old and beat up with no coolers. I was given a bag of ice to keep my drinks cold. Alex was in the process of shop and was very helpful. The food and drinks are priced fairly, and were served expeditiously. Overall experience was ok, but course could have been in much better shape. I wanted to take a shower after my round, but there is no locker room with facilities on site.

Pros: 18 Hole Palmer managed course that's well kept and always challenging. Plenty of social events. Swimming pool, tennis courts, racquetball, and gym all included in the golf membership. Cons: Poor job communicating with the membership. New "rules" come and go with little notice or explanation. For example... you can't bring your own can of soda to the pool but they'd be happy to sell you the same can for $1.50. dumb. Kitchen has really gone downhill since we first joined. Thanksgiving brunch used to be awesome but now it's below average... same goes for Christmas and Easter. Wednesday dinners turned into pasta Wednesday... been the same thing for 2 years now... gettin' old (actually to the point where we don't go to that anymore). I've had multiple billing errors... They've always fixed them but why do they happen in the 1st place? All in all a nice amenity in a good community but really nothing to write home about.

We decided to eat first but, at 830p...vendors started packing up, so we didn't get to shop. (sad face) We paid $20 each for the buffet---salad (out of a bag) rolls (kinda hard) sweet potatoes, green string beans w/bacon, pork loin w/mushrooms, charbroiled chicken breast with a white cream sauce. The meat and veggies were delicious! (note to front of house manager---bread saucers would be nice) Our server was Jamie...she was friendly and efficient. The country club itself is very plain...and outdated. Just nothing to write about really. No island or Texas history, minimal Christmas decor...bar and dining area is like old ugly banquet rooms. What I do enjoy is a round of golf with some of buddies, drinking a beer per hole, keeping score roughly according to PGA guidelines (yeah right), and just having a great time out on the Links. Now with that being said, I can really care less where I play as long as I get to play. I don't need a course designed by Jack Nicklaus for me to have a good time. This is why I enjoy Indian Shores GC so much. Its not like Kingwood CC or TPC at the Woodlands. In fact this makes your average municipal GC look like Tour 18. This is just your friendly neighborhood 9 hole GC on Lake Houston. You want beer? Bring your own damn beer! Oh we do. Oh we do. I'm not going to hole by hole describing the layout and best possible approach shots, partly because the course is in such poor shape its quite pointless to have a gameplan. Just hit the damn ball and pray it goes straight. If not, drink some more. The key is to be relaxed when you do your backswing. Trust me, I'm a tour pro at this type of golf. -The tee box is the highlight of the course. Need I say anymore about the rest? -The fairways are very short and wide open. The grass is either ankle length, which offers little to no roll - or - there is NO grass and its just hard dirt, which makes a 200 yard drive end up closer to 300. Awesome. -I think there is a total of 5 bunkers on the whole course. Beautiful! -The greens are fast and actually well kept for such a course The best thing about this course except for the BYOB is the green fee. For about 15 bucks you can play 18 holes of golf. Or 3-4 hours of a drinking party while attempting to play golf. Either way its a win-win situation.

Ground was so hard you couldn't make divots, your club would just bounce off the ground. Made it hard to get under the ball. Couldn't put my tee in the ground because of how hard the ground was. Couldn't tell the difference between the rough and the fairway and some parts of the "fairway" was just dried up dirt. I played a few holes and left, waste of money. My golf carts breaks didn't work either. The cart path was a gravel trail that was so bumpy my water bottle fell out of the cup holder and spilled everywhere. They didn't even have have water stations because they said they didn't have a "cooling system" all you need is a bucket filled with water and ice like what's so hard about that? Anyway I would never recommend playing here

They had us come in a side door, they would give more of a wow factor if they actually used their main entrance for events. Very unique venue & could have way more potential with better parking, different flooring option (not the white painted tile), better kitchen layout (what happened to the gorgeous original kitchen?) & using the main entrance for events.
