The food was tasty, cooked right with knowledgeable staff who were keen to answer questions. It was the hottest week in France yet the place was cool enough to enjoy a great meal. We went with family and they were very accommodating with 10 of us. The breads were great and there was a range of condiments on offer with papads. The kulfi dessert was really good too, in a great presentation. Will go again for sure, when we are back in Paris.

The food was good. However, this is France, and when in France, you can expect small portions. If…read moreyou're American and accustomed to larger servings, you won't find that here. Everything is priced separately, so the items on the menu don't include sides like rice or naan bread. Personally, I don't eat much, so I thought it was fine. When you order naan bread, they only give you one piece--unlike other countries where you often get more. It feels a bit stingy, and you're paying a lot for minimal food. I don't understand why this restaurant doesn't include sides with the dishes; it seems odd that everything is priced separately. The service was just okay. I didn't feel any warm or friendly vibe--it was neutral at best. The atmosphere was also just okay.

The ambiance is elegant and good to show off but food and price does not make up for it. The quantity was very small and despite asking for Indian flavors very bland. Curries were also oily. We visited this restaurant for lunch and found the food and service to be average. The dishes…read morelabeled as spicy were not spicy at all, and the portions felt small for the price. What really soured the experience, however, was what happened after the staff learned we were from the United States. We were approached by three different employees who repeatedly informed us that gratuity was not included. After my credit card was charged--which, notably, did not provide any option to add a tip--we were approached yet again and told that gratuity was not included. I finally asked how I was supposed to leave a tip. The employee explained that gratuities could only be paid in cash, either in euros or U.S. dollars. Since I wasn't carrying any cash, they responded, "It's okay, next time you pay gratuity." That comment left us feeling extremely uncomfortable. We had been enjoying our meal up until that point, but the repeated requests for a tip felt pushy and inappropriate. Throughout our travels in Europe, we have never experienced anything like this. It turned what had been a pleasant lunch into the most disappointing dining experience of our trip. Unfortunately, because of this interaction, we would not return.

Chennai Dosa offered a large menu of curries, dosas, and more, but my pick was the North Indian Thali, which came with a sampling of 10 ramekins of dishes, along with two chapatti flatbreads and a papad cracker. The dishes included chana masala (chickpea curry); a decadent paneer butter masala; yellow dal; spicy potatoes; a mixed vegetable dish of potatoes, peas, and carrots; and two different mixed rice dishes (a slightly sweet rice and a more heavily spiced brown-colored rice). The thali also came with sides of raita, a yellow sweet made of semolina, and sliced cucumbers/carrots/onions to round it all out. This restaurant was definitely a hole-in-the-wall, but the service, flavors, and prices were all on point!
