The lunch Buffet is really great. Has been solid and consistent for a while now. Chicken Tikka Marsala always a winning choice.

Wife and I ate here today and we'd come back to try other items. It wasn't terribly busy. We got the buffet. It had an appetizer, naan, a dessert, and about 6-8 entrees (a few vegetarian options). We really enjoyed all of it. The tandoori chicken was tasty as was the tikka masala and chicken curry. I don't really have a lot of other Indian food experiences to compare this to but I liked this. $17.99 for the buffet and that includes drinks. read more

The lady at the counter was very sweet and had a warm smile. This is best Indian food I've had since I left Michigan 17 years ago. I was also given an insane amount of food that I'll have to freeze some after I eat on it for the next 3 days because I'm not wasting a drop. I ordered the Chicken biriyani, samosas and cheese Naan. Hands down the best I've ever had. The staff were also so nice and the food was served super fast. When I'm back in Huntsville I will definitely order more things to try. Love a good, local Indian restaurant! Indian kitchen came to the rescue when I was starving for a decent meal on an early Saturday night. I called and made my to-go order over the phone and they told me it would be ready in 15 minutes. When I got there, it didn't seem like there were any other customers there, but the restaurant seemed very clean and inviting. My food was ready on time and the guys behind the counter were very kind. When I got home, I thoroughly enjoyed my butter chicken with garlic naan. We just moved here from out of state and have missed Indian food buffets. We hadn't found any place that had a buffet since 2020. Tried this place and it's exactly what we've been missing! Was in the neighborhood shopping for furniture. While walking past the shops, caught a whiff of spices in the air. Came across this place and wanted to try it for dinner. It is a small restaurant, appeared clean and tidy. Hosts were friendly and courteous. Menu had a decent selection of options to choose from. Ordered chicken biryani (noted as authentic hyderabadi) , mango chicken curry and raita. Ordered everything in medium spicy and spice levels were perfect for me. Biryani was really well made, very flavorful and did not burn a hole in my stomach. Chicken curry was made with candied mangoes and not the sour mangoes as it is expected in India. I was not too disappointed since it is not practical to expect fresh sour mangoes in november. Curry was well made though. Satisfied with the quality and quantities. I was very impressed with the food! Albeit I got there at about 6:20pm on a Saturday, and they didn't seem busy, but the tables hadn't been bussed and it took a while to get service, but absolutely no fault to our server at all. From what I can understand, this place gets a lot of to-go orders so he had a lot on his plate. But the food was VERY worth the wait. I got lamb saag with the coconut naan, and my father got the goat korma with garlic naan. The coconut naan was delicious. I've never had naan with coconut in it before and it's probably my new favorite thing because it added the perfect amount of sweetness to balance all the flavors in the saag. The lamb was incredibly tender--almost melt in your mouth tender. I almost liked the korma more than the saag and I'm really not a big korma person! We both got our dishes spicy and it was the perfect amount of spice, enough to make your nose run but tame enough so your whole mouth isn't crying and begging you to stop. We got a to-go order for my brother extra-native-spicy so we'll see if it meets his standards of spice (nothing is ever spicy enough for him). This is the best Indian food in Huntsville and the guys are so friendly and great! It is a quiet place and busy so tables are frequently dirty, which could be fixed over leaving them filled with old plates. This is silly puddy mixed with clay in a bowl of scorched spices.. crap! The coconut mushroom curry soup isn't soupy, it's tacky and sticks to the roof of your mouth-yuck. It's very disgusting to be honest. That burnt the dickens out of the spices and used far too much-we could not eat it. SOUP ISNT THICK!' The Shrimp curry dish with rice, that fell way short. I gave rate plenty of Indian cuisine, authentic & this places misses every mark... go back to culinary school & retrain ok because it's off & off putting. Next time I see a restaurant empty, I'm not going in!! It's a set up. I mean the flavor is horrible & bitter! There was a chunk of uncooked spices in there. And why on earth am I bobbin my head to Reggaeton instead of Baliwood??? Not a good mash up. Why does it take 45 minutes for two dishes and some stale bread?!! Unfortunately updating with a lower rating due to some shady price adjusting. We've ordered takeout 2-3 times a month for the last year or so. This time, there was a notice that prices were raised Sure, I get it. The world is crazy. But while we were serving up our dishes, my husband said, "does this seem like less food than usual?" I keep their takeout containers for reuse, so I pulled one out, and sure enough: it's about 1/3 smaller (photo included). If I'm doing my math right, this ends up meaning that we're paying 40%-50% more per serving. I'm not sure if in-restaurant dishes are also shrinking, but this is shady to me! Raising prices while giving less food is a hit to value in both directions. The food is still great, but we will be ordering takeout less from now on read more

Came here for the weekend lunch buffet. That's $20 a person. They have a great variety of options. Ran out of bread, forks, and bowls while we were trying to make our plates. The fried veggies and fish were delicious. I love the different sauce options they have out. And the rice pudding is so yummy! Chicken tikka masala and naan bread is always a hit. I was seated immediately since it was a slower day, and i ordered off the menu for that reason. They have a very large menu that has a lot of options including vegetarian ones of course. if you like spicy food and have a good tolerance youll love this spot. i thought i could handle spicy because in this particular area "spicy" on a menu usually isnt spicy at all for me, but this place wasnt kidding around. i think i wouldve been better off eating my channa masala mild. I ordered channa masala (chickpeas) and puri (bread to eat it with), the food was hot and the portions were huge! i could have shared it with 3 people. i could have eaten off the leftovers 3 more times but i only ate them 2x because i ran out of puri. a friend ordered biryani (came with raita) and it was also enormous, it couldve fed 4 generously! we finished the meal off with a nice mango lassi, which was equally tart and sweet. overall the food was excellent, i will definitely be back! im very impressed since vegetarian food can be bland in hsv, this is really impressive. dont let the prices fool you- youre getting multiple meals for that 15-18 bucks youre about to spend. read more

I've been on the hunt for some tasty authentic Indian cuisine in HSV... and to my surprise I've food a spot! Indian kitchen serves a variety of Indian food buffet style...and while you'd have eyes to get multiple plates, the food is very filling so prepare yourself! All dishes are available in what looks like formal catering containers complete with lids and tongues. I'd recommend the paneer dishes as they are perfectly tender and paired with curry, tikka masala, or other dishes at times! You also cannot forget the Kerr for desert! The notes of cinnamon and the creaminess of the dish itself is the perfect end to a meal. This place has become one of my favorite HSV restaurants hands down. read more

But I was recently informed that tips are taken by the owner and not distributed to the wait staff. This is wage theft and it's a crime under federal law. This new Indian restaurant opened up where Ruchi used to be. Don't get it twisted, they are distinct from one another. For now, they're only doing takeout (and maybe delivery, not sure) -- there wasn't much furniture set up yet when I stopped by to get my food. Their menu covers a lot of common Indian favorites -- tikka masala, vindaloo, biryani, korma, and all sorts of naan. We wanted to split something for lunch, so we opted for a chicken biryani and an order of veggie samosas. It was ~$20. The portion size was HUGE however, and was as filling a meal shared between two people as I would want, probably even at dinner time. It was a LOT of food. The service was very friendly and warm and my food was ready when they said it would be. The chicken biryani was very flavorful and aromatic, with generous, large pieces of white and dark meat chicken and a whole egg cut in halves. No pictures because we dug in as soon as we opened the box, but trust it was a huge portion. The samosas were nice and crispy on the outside and full of soft, well seasoned potatoes and other veggies on the inside. So warming and comforting. They also included some sauces like tamarind chutney, raita, and other goodies. I tend to like curries more than biryani -- just wanted to try something new -- so I'll definitely be back to give them a try. Not to say the biryani wasn't something I'd order again, because I totally would -- I just look forward to trying their other stuff. Excited to see what the interior will look like once they've got the decor set up. All in all, an encouraging first visit from this great new place! read more

Have eaten at other Indian restaurants in town and the food at Indian Kitchen is hands down the best. Its always a pleasure to go there because the staff knows me (and my order). CAUTION: COCKROACHES CRAWLING IN DINING AREA! CANNOT SAY WHAT WOULD BE THE STATE OF THEIR KITCHEN. One of the worst experiences in visiting a restaurant. Saw a cockroach crawling under our table. When it was brought to the attention of the wait staff, they didn't seem to be very concerned about it, giving an impression that this is a common sighting for them. Since we had just gotten seated, we asked them to change our table, but they ignored that request. After a while one of the staff brought a broom and pan to pick the cockroach. It surely makes to think that what would be the state of their kitchen?! The worst part of this incident is that when we were paying our check and the girl asked if we found everything okay, we obviously mentioned that the cockroach situation was not something that we liked. Her very casual response was that the cockroach came from outside, they cannot do anything about it. On asking her if she had reported that to her manager, she said that she told the owner who is in the kitchen, but he is very busy and does not have time to come out! Really! You have cockroaches crawling over the place and this is your attitude to handle the situation. After that the lady just threw her arms up in the air and screamed for the owner to come outside. The person came out and seemed to be helpless in responding to the situation and to the attitude of his employee. There were open ceiling tiles in the dining area, which should not be the case as rodents and other crawlers make it as their entry point. A BIG NO TO THIS PLACE. STAY AWAY. HEALTH DEPARTMENT NEEDS TO DO A THOROUGH INSPECTION AND HAVE THIS PLACE CLEANED AND SANITIZED. read more

I've only been here for the lunch buffet, so experience may vary at other times. The service here is horrible at best and nonexistent most days. Typically my only interaction with an employee is when I am ready to pay and leave. I can't count the times I've sat down at a table that still had a few crumbs on it. The only redeeming quality is that the food is pretty good. I hope they can eventually hire some more help so there is some amount of service from the staff. read more
