We came here on a weekday for lunch when they opened. We were greeted by the friendly waitress and were seated right away. They were pretty slow and two other parties came in for lunch while we were there. Both groups are of college age boys. Found out that they have a $14 lunch buffet so we opted to do that instead of ordering a la carte. The place was very clean and our waitress was cleaning up after people used the buffet. She was quickly removing plates from tables and refilling water cups. I wish I could rave about the food but I found the curries and food to be a bit bland. I'm not sure if they are so because they are part of the buffet and the restaurant was trying to keep things mild. Fresh delicious fluffy baked naan comes with the buffet. read more

What a pleasure to find authentic ethnic food here in the Capital Region! Having spent most of our lives in the NYC area, it's been an adjustment having to ask for chili oil to put some heat in what's supposed to be a Scezchuan dish, or having "Mexican" without jalapeño or cumin. We've been to Indian Flame twice in two weeks. When we ordered, the wIter asked "mild, medium or hot"? Hot, we answered. And hot it was, not vindaloo hot, but spicy enough to leave a little tingle in your mouth. The keshwari naan was loaded with nuts and fruits -delicious! Servers have been friendly and pleasant. We always order way too much food so we can have leftovers the following night, and they're quick to bring containers and a bag to pack it up. Indian Flame is in my opinion the number one place to get Indian food in the capital region. I love indian food and grew up with great indian food in Atlanta and when I moved to Troy I was so scared I wouldn't find another great Indian place! I tried a couple different ones in the area and this is by far the best for taste, price and quality service!!! Their website is super easy to order on and I order take out from here at least once a month as a treat, I've also dined in handful of times. Our friends recently moved into the area. They had delivery from here and didn't like it but we wanted to give it another try. We were NOT disappointed. We had the Samosa Chaat for an appetizer and it was DELICIOUS! My fiancé isn't a fan of yogurt but he loved it! I order veggie Marsala and they were able to customize it with chick peas, cauliflower, and onion for me. Yummy yummy! Our friends both had the Dosa and loved it. We stopped in for a quick lunch while in town visiting my husbands family. They have a small Buffett selection that was pretty average. The rice and samosas were good, but the stews just left me missing my local Indian restaurants back in Los Angeles. The curry sauces were a tad too runny and the chicken was pretty dry. We've become regulars at Indian Flame since it opened. Every dish is beautiful and delicious. But what made me write this review is our first order of their Kerala Fish Curry. This is hands down my favorite Indian fish dish, not just at this restaurant, but at any fish restaurant! You just have to try it. The service here is prompt, friendly, but not intrusive. We've even requested a dish that isn't on the menu and they made a great version of it for us! The vegetarian offerings are great. The appetizers are ample and delicious. I haven't yet tried their goat dishes but I plan too because Indian goat curry is a personal favorite. Lots of easy off-street parking. The location outside is a small strip mall, but when you step through the door, you see the cleanliness and tastefulness of the modern but also traditional Indian accents. We checked out Indian Flame and used a Local Flavor $15 for $30 worth of food coupon, which we presented to our server before ordering. We tried a couple of appetizers and main courses. The chicken samosas were tasty and so was the cheese dosa which was huge! They brought out a nice variety of delicious dipping sauces for the apps. For the mains, my girlfriend got the chicken tikka masala and I got the lamb khorma. Both were full of flavor, such a tasty combination of spices. The lamb was really tender and sat in a rich cashew cream sauce. A large portion of basmati rice accompanied the dishes. We loved everything we ordered and we'll definitely be back! read more

Not only is this place a very good place to get Indian food, it is also well set up as a business. If you're coming to pick up orders and leave, there was a pathway around the dining area,which is very smart. The chicken soup has tiny bits of broccoli which was a nice touch. My boyfriend and I love Indian food, so when I came up to visit him, we wanted to find the best place in the Albany area. We have tried many Indian restaurants from all over the state and this one was one of the best. Granted, we were extremely hungry, but this may have been the fastest we have ever cleaned our plates at a restaurant. We got the vegetable pakora for an appetizer and it was very crispy and unique. Holy moly the flavors were amazing! We absolutely loved the samosa, naan and our entrees! Teenager approved too! We ate in early evening weekend and the take out was slamming. Will definitely be ordering some future takeout. My only sad face is because they do not offer my favorite, chicken tikka makhani, but I'll just have to eat everything else off their menu. read more

Have eaten once in the restaurant and was satisfied. I was disappointed when ordering take out as the quality was poor. Additionally the second time we got food poisoning that lasted a few days. When I called the restaurant they first verified that I ordered. ( actually stopped me from talking) At that point they allowed me to talk, which was rude. When I asked for the manager they indicated the manager was off for the day? They offered no concession and no return call from the manager that I had asked to call me. Very disappointed. read more

Was in the area dropping my dog off and decided to stop by. Boy did they not disappoint. The service was amazing, and the food was even better. Wow. All I have to say is wow. I got chicken curry and it was honestly without a doubt some of the best I've ever had. I opted with the butter naan and it did not disappoint, easily the best naan I've ever had in my entire life. The crunch and taste was perfect. Considering I was sick during this meal and could taste every bit I tried, it was amazing. Ordered takeout for dinner last night. We were very excited to get to try a new restaurant, and they had some interesting things on their menu such as Dosa which I don't often see in this area. Their veg samosa has just a hint of a kick. The fried cauliflower with chili sauce app was addicting. Of course we had to try the Dosa as well. They packed the crepe and the filling separate since it was take out, so some assembly was required. Even though they have a Vegitarian section and Vegan section on the menu, they were kind enough to make an entree in the Vegitarian section vegan for us. It was the Navaratan Korma which we have never seen at another restaurant before. It was a delicate curry and reminded us of a Malaysian curry. We enjoyed it very much. The big surprise for me was the coconut rice. I could not believe how much I enjoyed that. We wish them a lot of success since they just opened last week. We will be back and regulars. read more

I LOVE Indian food - Northern, mostly - and learned to cook it from a native Indian but nothing is better than having someone cook it authentically for me and this is my new go-to. We ordered chicken biryani, lamb korma, garlic naan and saag paneer and every bite was the best it could be. And then, like Indian food does - even better as leftovers. Perfectly seasoned, large quantities (we got four full meals from this order, for around $15 each), and while we did pick up, the space is beautiful. Can't wait to return, maybe even with a group like I used to pre-pandemic. read more

We just ordered for the first time! So delicious and very interestingly spiced compared to our other Indian standby (20 minutes further away). So glad they've come to Wynantskill and they will be part of our regular take out routine (and in person when that seems safer). We liked everything we ordered. We had coconut lamb , shrimp mail curry, the salmon tikka ,saag panneerand pakoras...all truly excellent. Yay for more interesting food close by! read more

At the time of this review I would say Indian Flame has been open about a week and has already won me over. Delicious Indian, we had been ordering from another popular Indian restaurant in the capital region but they are twice the price of Indian Flame. Portions were the perfect size and flavorful. We ordered our entrees Spicy and they really weren't too hot so I would go Extra Spicy next time. 4 stars because there were a few staple Indian items I wish they had on the menu - maybe in time. So glad Wynantskill is getting some good food spots! read more
