The food was excellent until we got to the end of our Marsala chicken and found a roach IMG_8927.jpg I was literally sick . I'm eating bread for a few days now or forever

I ordered from this place two to three times now, both the food and delivery service was on point most of the time. The naan bread I ordered was burnt on one side (to the point where you give up trying to eat it) but other than that, has been exceptional all other times. The delivery is one of the fastest from places I've ordered in the area. Last time I ordered, I had to call the restaurant and communication was difficult as the gentleman could not understand any English. Usually, I don't mind as long as it's enough to answer basic questions/ share super basic information, but this actually got in the way of me knowing anything about the order ( like where it was). If I had suggestion, it would only be to make sure whoever is answering the phone is able to somewhat communicate with customers about their orders. A samosa that came with my meal was drenched in grease, good thing it was free. Other than that, the flavors and textures have been great. Also, packaging is efficient to keep the naan warm in route. Pros: Fastest delivery ever, food is decent and satisfies the Indian food cravings, includes utensils and naan well packed. Cons: Communication issues, greasy samosa and burnt naan (chance it may occur).

The word is "inauthentic". I ordered Paneer Makhani which was salt-less & tasteless. If I had to put Paneer in a ready to eat gravy available in the market for much cheaper, why would I order online from a restaurant? Not happy!!

I love ordering delivery here. Fast, friendly, and reasonably priced. I guess it's called express for a reason!

A lot of food for the price and it was the best Saag I've had in Manhattan! Definitely ordering again.

But here's the moment that sealed it: we'd had a long morning and asked, somewhat sheepishly, if they could make us chai, which isn't even on the menu. Without missing a beat, they made it. Hot, proper chai, just because we needed it. That's not service. That's hospitality. He made a full, buzzing restaurant feel intimate and that's rare. Essence of Kesar is the kind of place Englewood should be very proud of. Go. Ask for Pawan.

Unfortunately, the service significantly took away from the experience. We made a reservation ahead of time and even called to let them know we'd be about 15 minutes late, yet when we arrived, we were told our reservation had been given away. That was frustrating and set a poor tone for the evening. The restaurant also seemed very understaffed the night we went. Service felt disorganized, and there was a long wait for our food after we were finally seated. It was clear the staff was overwhelmed. The food is absolutely the reason this isn't a lower rating, because there's real potential here. But between giving away reservations and the slow, disorganized service, the overall experience fell short. Hoping this was just an off night because the food deserves better execution.

I ordered at the counter and after 30 mins I checked and seems like my order had not been passed on, so I ordered again and this time food only took 10 mins to arrive. Naan was great. Chicken tikka masala was a bit oiler than I'm used to. They didn't have any plain rice available as a side order for the curry, so they suggested the Friday special rice which was chicken and chickpeas and ginger etc, unfortunately this had definitely been sitting a while and rice was pretty mushy. The staff were pretty friendly, and I liked how the dining area was decorated. $22 for the two dishes and naan (plenty of leftovers that i took home although not sure how well the rice will be tomorrow)

They have a large selection but I came for the chicken Biryani. I hope they give me Maan. Ambiance is really cool, decorated with Pakistani colors, fabrics banners.
