Finally a good Indian restaurant in the hood! The space is lively with nice decor and nice music playing in the background. The service was prompt, quick and they are attentive. Coming to food - we ordered Baingan chutneywala and paneer kalonji. The chaat did hit the spot - packed with tangy flavor and eggplant was nice and crunchy! The presentation was lovely too. Paneer kalonji was delicious as well. Their menu does have nice fusion items on top of the traditional dishes. I am planning to come again with friends so we get to try other items in the menu. I hope they maintain good quality and taste. We really needed a good Indian restaurant in Edgewater.

Love this great Indian food!! I love how they give you a complimentary sample of the soup of the day and the food is fresh and flavorful! The service is amazing and the best part is that it's BYOB!! There is a parking lot a few min walk away or you can find street parking. Love the decor and food here

Got dinner from here Sunday night as takeout. Took around 20 minutes for the food to be ready, which was not bad at all. The waiter was really nice and helpful with assisting us in selecting our dishes. We had the chicken tikka masala, goat kalimirch, naan sampler, and chowk ki tikka. Hands-down, the standout was the goat dish and the chowk ki tikka appetizer. The appetizer was truly a step above all the other food we tried. It was completely out of this world with flavor. It was a mix of potato and goat cheese, but mixed with spices, fresh fruits, like pomegranate, and lots of different textures I would go back and get two of these!! The goat dish entrée was also really good. The meat itself was soft and tender. The chicken tikka masala was great as well just did not live up to the other dishes that we tried. We got a side of the naan sampler which is a classic when getting Indian takeout- fluffy, warm, and perfect for dipping. The inside of the restaurant had super cute decor - I can see this being a great option for a casual date or group/family outing.

Excellent service. Excellent food. I was especially looking forward to trying the delhi ki kachore which I saw a photo of. It was the perfect balance of sweet and spicy.

Had a wonderful dining experience here! The servers were incredibly friendly and attentive, and the soft background music created a relaxing atmosphere. The food presentation was flawless--truly 10/10. Every dish, from the appetizers to the entrée, and even the kheer for dessert, was absolutely delicious. They were also very accommodating with dietary preferences and spice levels, which made the experience even better. Will definitely be coming back!

This place hits all the right notes to make your culinary experience memorable. We visited this place during the memorial day weekend. The pleasant and top notch service that accompanies the wonderful food hits it out of the park. Flavorful, amazing balance of fresh spices and the balance of palates, is a sure sign of wonderful, passionate and skilled chef and his staff. Though the place is not that big, its ambience is welcoming and tastefully done. The dessert paan ice cream along with the gulag jamun and ras mali were superb, true icing on the cake for our lunch. A true 5 star !

Goat Curry, Chicken Saag, Kafta, samosa. It was all pretty good. I would say it's average Indian food. Perfectly acceptable.

But here's the moment that sealed it: we'd had a long morning and asked, somewhat sheepishly, if they could make us chai, which isn't even on the menu. Without missing a beat, they made it. Hot, proper chai, just because we needed it. That's not service. That's hospitality. He made a full, buzzing restaurant feel intimate and that's rare. Walk in not even a nicely welcoming for customers instead we felt bad vibes and extremely rude as well. we waited to be seated couple minutes they were looking confused or lost something in that moment we couldn't figure it out. We asked nicely for a bright table since we have reservation and the guy told us is all reserved but place was empty meantime. We seated and I have to asked for the light to be turned on so we can see the menu because the other side has lights on. It took sometime until they put it on. meanwhile our wine was getting warmer no wine glasses no water either and they kept walking front and back like they were accomplished something but nothing was going on. we were still waiting looking at them just waiting to order. 15minutes waiting finally they come and asked if we needed wine glass? Oh boy Meanwhile no lights so I use my phone because the table lamp didn't have batteries or not charge. So we say yes please respectfully but still waiting for it. Couple more minutes pass by and water and glasses still nothing. The table next to us was waiting as well for something else I can feel and see them how frustrating they were as well I hear them talking and not happy as well. So we just get up upset and left but of course we make sure we let them know how poorly their services were on top making people waiting so long when the place is literally empty. Careless Not sure how they have 4.7 rating reviews they definitely bought ratings or some tricky stuff here because honestly was awful to me. The place looks pretty good decorating with cute chandeliers that's all. Very disappointed

Like other asian places, they offer chili paste on the table so you can customize your dishes. They have about 6-7 tables, but overall it's more like a take out place. The owner is a nice guy. Its a very small restaurant, limited seating. Hot and sour soup was good, and chicken lollipop was ok ( could use more flavor) . Now for the entres: We got the sczechuan chicken , chicken chili dry and the hakka noodles. We thought it would be strips or cubes of chicken battered but this was not the case. The entrees both use a meatball type of thing as the protein, and was not good at all. The portion of the dishes was so small. The chili dry had more of black pepper taste than anything. There was also a plastic taste in it ( im assuming they store the sauce in a plastic container ?) The sczechuan chicken had a tangy and strange flavor. The hakka noodles had absolutely no flavor but the only thing with a decent portion. Awful food, so mad we spent $75 here ( which is so not appropriate for the location and food). So disappointed.

Insofar as the roti resembled the buttery, flaky layers of a white roti, this was a pleasant order. The roti here are made with whole wheat, which made for a grittier texture that felt...healthy, for all the good and bad of that word. But they were sufficiently buttery, which always helps things. And minor quibbles aside, this was still a fantastic vessel to scoop out every last smear of the tikka masala sauce. Clearly, we liked the chicken tikka masala. With a fragrant, velvety sauce and large chunks of tender chicken, after a few bites of this dish, I found myself announcing to the table, "I feel sorry for anyone who doesn't like Indian food." The chana masala - our other entree - was a little more muted and tomato-forward, but still fantastic. It feels strange to leave praise for rice, but judging from the sheen at the bottom of our rice dish, I suspect they melted and mixed some butter to it (which, again, no complaints here). Service was chill on a Sunday afternoon. Beyond taking our order and dropping off our food, we weren't bothered during our meal (which is the just-right level of attention I generally want from a place). I made my first visit to Cheongsu, a super homey Korean cafe featuring drinks, pastries, and desserts. Given the weather, I went with their strawberry matcha bingsu. I would say Service is pretty nonexistent as you order on the counter and you see yourself with no waitressing. The cashier lady was also pretty rude and not accomodating to my request (make my drinks less sweet) so they lose a store for that. Atmosphere is cute and vibes are great, definitely has modern and traditional Korean vibes. However, I would not say that this is like a traditional tea house? Having been to A LOT of tea houses in Korea, their menu and concept is definitely far from what a traditional teahouse is like. For instance, a traditional teahouse would have assorted rice, cakes and traditional, Korean desserts, however, I feel like this place used modern French pastries, and put a Korean twist on them, which I would say is not very Korean in reality. Baked goods were OK. It tasted stale. Losing a star for that as well.
