I ordered takeout, and this is my first time trying this place. The service was nice and efficient. The food was packed very nicely. I tried: - Tofu Salli (4 out of 10): the tofu has a medium firm cheese like consistency, coated lightly in a tomato sauce. The consistency threw me off a little bit. It's not bad, but it's not flavorful. - Lassuni Gobhi (5 out if 10): I was really excited about this one, but the cauliflower had too much breading. The sauce was tasty. - Aloo Gobhi Mutter (9 out 10): the portion was huge, and very tasty. It's a little too salty, but pairs great with the rice. - Chicken Murgh Madras Curry (3 out of 10): The sauce was too salty (I added some more coconut milk at home). Finally a good Indian restaurant in the hood! The space is lively with nice decor and nice music playing in the background. The service was prompt, quick and they are attentive. Coming to food - we ordered Baingan chutneywala and paneer kalonji. The chaat did hit the spot - packed with tangy flavor and eggplant was nice and crunchy! The presentation was lovely too. Paneer kalonji was delicious as well. Their menu does have nice fusion items on top of the traditional dishes. I am planning to come again with friends so we get to try other items in the menu. Got dinner from here Sunday night as takeout. Took around 20 minutes for the food to be ready, which was not bad at all. The waiter was really nice and helpful with assisting us in selecting our dishes. We had the chicken tikka masala, goat kalimirch, naan sampler, and chowk ki tikka. Hands-down, the standout was the goat dish and the chowk ki tikka appetizer. The appetizer was truly a step above all the other food we tried. It was completely out of this world with flavor. It was a mix of potato and goat cheese, but mixed with spices, fresh fruits, like pomegranate, and lots of different textures I would go back and get two of these!! The goat dish entrée was also really good. The meat itself was soft and tender. The chicken tikka masala was great as well just did not live up to the other dishes that we tried. We got a side of the naan sampler which is a classic when getting Indian takeout- fluffy, warm, and perfect for dipping. My neighbors are from Mumbai and Bengaluru and insisted we go for dinner. Upon entering, I noticed almost everyone there was of Indian descent. Great sign. The service was perfect. They took time to share the specials, get to know us and what brought us in and proceeded to bring small samples of the small plates and appetizers while we scoured the menu. We ordered samosas, Channa Masala, Malai Kafta, Dal Tadka, Chicken Makhni, God's gift to the menu- the chef's corner- the corn cheese jalapeño rolls and the chicken tikka naan... everything to live for! It's great to see Indian restaurants opening in Edgewater! However, the food doesn't quite match the authentic North Indian taste. Dishes that are supposed to be Punjabi are made with South Indian flavors like curry leaves and coconut gravy, which throws off the traditional taste. I had chefs special Paneer Lababdar, and it had a coconut gravy mixed with tomato gravy, which didn't match the traditional North Indian style at all. The Aloo Sabji they serve also tastes more like a South Indian salan than the usual Punjabi preparation. It's disappointing because the flavors just don't align with what you'd expect from North Indian food. Ambiance and service were very nice. They shouldn't advertise themselves as serving North Indian food. Overall experience was good.They should add idli dosa in menu to attract North Indian locals. read more

The food was very VERY good. The naan was excellent and they packaged it very well. The only reason why I'm not giving it 5 stars is because the saag and the tikka masala tasted too similar to one another.
