They have a VAST selection of Filipino ingredients & snacks (I even found some harder to find items here), and they also offer a small selection of prepared food in their attached Tap Si Han cafe. It isn't a grand buffet, and the selection changes regularly (with the exception of lumpia and BBQ kebabs offered daily). But, it is quality over quantity... because everything we tried was delicious! *Worth highlighting: We had some of the juiciest lechon I've had anywhere in the city (pork belly style available on weekends), and our family is in love with the ube cake! I met the NICEST owners [Joel & Jen] and was helped by friendly & knowledgeable employees [shoutout to Noel for helping me carry my goodies to the car]. They have karaoke mics turned on all day, if you'd like to indulge in a little musical fun while you're dining in. They have an impressive catering menu, and you can reserve spots for a personalized/customizable "Boodle Fight" (IYKYK!!!). My wife & I stop in often to do a little shopping and grab some food from the cafe, but we were really impressed by their catering. We ordered several party trays, and everything was outstanding. Homemade, high quality, fresh delicious, and great presentation. Our family faves are the BBQ skewers, the lumpia (meaty 2-bite eggrolls), pancit, and the Ube chiffon cake. The store stands alone in a small building at the back of Ford Road not far from Mills Branch. As you enter you are greeted by several aisles of various grocery items from pots and pans to spices, rice, canned goods and other things but with one big difference from other corner grocery stores as this one caters to the Indo-Pakistan clientele or folks looking for something a bit different than what is offered at Kroger or HEB! I met the young man behind the counter where you can order food to eat at their small sitting area or to take away, he is the owners son and was so friendly and helpful at advising me on what was offered on the menu. Everything is made cooked to order so you are encouraged to browse the store while he gets your food ready. They have a full butcher shop that handles meat in the Halal tradition, which to be honest treats the animals with respect before they are to be dispatched. They had several cuts of lamb, beef and chicken as well as goat and they can custom cut orders. Keep in mind a regular chain grocery store only receives meat in what are called packer cuts, never the entire animal. Here you can even pick out and purchase your choice of meat and they will dispatch it and butcher it to your order. They also sell their pre-made kebab for you to take home and grill. In the end I had an order of the Vegetable Samosa to start and the Chicken Kebab Naan Roll. I think it ran around $11 and the Naan roll was large and very filling, you can get it with fries but I decided to just have the roll. It was a bit spicy which I liked. The potato filling for the Samosa was very tasty with wonderful spices. I was so hungry I ate it up and forgot to take a picture! This is the place to come when you need spices from this region including the Middle East, spices like cumin, chili powders and the more unusual for a western menu like Fenugreek seed, cumin seed, mace and many more. They have lots and lots of pre-mixed spices for kebabs, curries and favorites like Chicken Tikka. I know I will be coming back here, the food is great and we need to support these small family run businesses.
