Index Fence did a great job installing a fence for my dog. From the initial quote process through installation, everything was seamless and stress-free. They even handed all the necessary paperwork with my HOA and the city for the required approval and permits. On installation day, Juan and Armando arrived early, finished quickly, and did a fantastic job - even diagnosing an issue with the original plan and coming up with a solution. My dog loves her yard, and I couldn't recommend Index more! read more

I would leave zero stars if I could. I met with the salesperson who was very knowledgeable and friendly, and I thought that it was great that they would deal with the HOA stuff for me, and there was a warranty on the fence for both product and craftsmanship. However, I was told it'd be "around 3 weeks." I needed a new fence asap for safety reasons, etc. I got the money for the down payment and would have sent it immediately, but you are either charged 3% extra if you use a credit card (understandable), or you have to pay in cash or check. As I just moved here, I didn't have checks from the new bank yet and so that delayed me getting the down payment to them, but he told me he understood the situation and would put my name on the board so I would be in the lineup. I got the checks 5 days later; the person didn't respond for another 5 days and it was another 4 days before they came to pick up the check. Later on, I was blamed for the timing on when the downpayment was received. I was still assured that I was on the board and ready to go. Communication was nonexistent. 4 weeks went by and I was reaching out and not getting any response about what date I was scheduled for. I was given condescending replies when I did get an answer and it was a constant fight to get answers. I was given excuse after excuse after excuse. Waiting for materials, rain, guys got heat stroke, etc. After 7 weeks of waiting and I was STILL NOT given an exact date but had now 3 times been given an "around this week" with no one coming or information on anything but simply excuses when I asked what was happening, I gave up and requested a refund of my down payment (for which I then had to demand 3 times and wait for the return of the check), and I went with a different fencer altogether. It was awful and terrible communication. They did not once give me a date still after 7 weeks of waiting. No apologies for poor service, poor communication, or anything. They additionally lied about the warranty, because when I asked about land settling they said it was covered by the craftsmanship warranty and they'd fix it if it was a problem (one of the reasons I had originally decided to go with them because they acknowledged that it could happen in new construction homes). But, then they said later on that that was not covered in the craftsmanship warranty. It was an absolutely terrible experience and I have now found out that I'm not the only one. Stay away. read more

Bad experience. I hired Index Fence because they advertised a specific type of fence that no one else offered. Once work began, the installation dragged on for nearly a month. The owner claimed there were issues in the Raleigh area in early December 2024, and said his workers could not come to work, which caused repeated delays. During installation, the crew--who did not speak English--placed the fence too close to my neighbor's house. When I raised the issue, they refused to move it. They claimed I had instructed them to place it there, which is incorrect, and the owner also refused to correct the placement. About six months after the fence was installed, it started falling apart. There are now large gaps between the doors, and although they said the wood was pressure-treated, it's already buckling. I've tried reaching out multiple times, but they refuse to return my calls or fix the problems read more

Jason Feore of Index Fence was great to work with ! Very professional and even came out a second time after we changed up our plans on the fence design. Index fence delivered from sales to install! The "3 brothers" team (think I got that right?) did an amazing job on the one day install which included 3 gates . Beautiful! Addressed all questions I had throughout the process. Like others have said, other companies came, delivered a poor experience ( some don't follow up at all) and did not get my business ! My Index Fence experience was great ! Highly recommend them. read more

Contacted Index fence to complete the perimeter of our yard (already covered 3/4 sides by existing 4' aluminum fence). They were quick to respond and able to install fast once HOA approval was done and 811 marked buried utilities. I'm okay with the final result, but not blown away. We have a fence which we've needed for some time to keep our kids in the yard/safe from running into the street and that's the important part. I would consider using them again, but with many more questions pre-installation and more details in writing. The sales contact was misinformed and made some errors during the initial inspection, also omitted some critical information for us. The install team left things a bit messy in the driveway (red clay stains) and left the fence muddy/dirty with handprints. Make sure you ask questions about exactly how/where your fence will connect with neighbors if looking to close off spaces completely! Pros: Responsive and quick to visit for on-site quote, had all of the fence materials in stock for installation Competitive price (based on 3 quotes - $4100 for 53ft linear fence, 3 x 4' gates + install) Install team was courteous and when they accidentally hit our irrigation, they did repair the PVC before completing install Cons: Installation might be subcontracted out to others by Index, they didn't know anything about our discussions prior to install Did not inform us of 6" from property line rule - we have a gap between our fence and neighbors where animals/kids can squeeze through (we were told to expect ~2" during the onsite estimate) They insisted our neighbor's fence was a 5' aluminum when in reality it's a 4' aluminum fence so ours doesn't align properly with other fences around the property We had to pay an additional $200 to have irrigation repair/replace wiring which was also damaged in the process of installation read more

Alexandre and Index Fence did an excellent job providing wood fencing on my just over an acre wooded lot. Thank you!!!

I met with a very nice young man by the name of Jason (can't remember last name) for a fence estimate. I've reached out to other companies and didn't care for their presentation or price but I felt Jason was worth bragging about. He was punctual and very courteous & importantly, to me at least, made me feel comfortable. He provided detail explanations and fair pricing which was a nice change from the rest. I greatly appreciate honest businesses that hire quality people so I'd definitely recommend Jason to all of my neighbors & friends. read more

This group is very responsive and I was really looking forward to working with them. They replied to my quote request within minutes, put me on the schedule and requested pictures and survey info, which I provided. The next day I was contacted to say that they don't have the resources to take on new clients and apologized. Disappointing, but I understand. Definitely inquire if they are taking on new clients before you get too much further along. read more

Jason at index fence is the best. Very knowledgeable, responsive and professional. We had a few fence companies give us quotes and Index fencing just felt like the best for our money - not necessarily the lowest. But I believe you get what you pay for. Our dog is in heaven in his new fenced in backyard and it looks beautiful read more

I called and spoke to Christian. We scheduled an appointment for a Thursday at five, and then hurricane Ian was coming and he canceled last minute because of the wind that was supposed to be coming the next day... seemed a little silly, but I said no problem. We then made another appointment for the following Thursday, and I received a call at 9 AM from Carlos in the office asking if I wanted to reschedule that appointment for 12, 1, or 2 PM and I explained that that was not possible and if they weren't able to make the 5 o'clock to please let me know as we have scheduled our day around it. Come 5:15 on Thursday, Christian is a no-show, I call him and he drops my call so I text him and he responds "Hey Vanessa I'm sorry couldn't answer your call I'm still stuck in the office as of right now had some late call ins". So he never had the courtesy to call, to let me know, or to tell me that he wasn't coming. Therefore, I suggest if you're looking for a professional company that's going to respect your time, look elsewhere. read more

5 stars! What an awesome experience we had with Index Fence! From quote to completion, they did an amazing job. Jason, our fence consultant, was super friendly, responded immediately, and communicated with us during the entire process. Thanks to him, the fence was completed within 2 weeks of our initial consultation at a great price. The installation team was very knowledgeable, friendly, thorough, hardworking, and finished construction within 1 day. The materials look beautiful - both us and our dog are very happy. I can't recommend Index Fence highly enough. read more

I requested a quote from another fence company and used Yelp's "submit to other companies" feature. Index responded that day. They not only scheduled an on-site evaluation for the next day (and were very prompt), but they were the only company who could get us in before late June or July to even do the evaluation! The evaluation was easy, and the inspector wore a mask and observed social distancing. From there, we booked them and they built our fence within one day. Index communicated effectively through the whole process. I'd say the whole thing took two weeks, and the only wait was because of bad weather. Index had comparable prices too. They cleaned up so well that the only sign they'd ever been here was the new fence. Overall, I was incredibly impressed with this company and really satisfied with what they provided us. Our new fence is fantastic. read more

I received 3 quotes. One from Home Depot, Lowe's and Index. The quote was in line with Lowe's and Home Depot only the reviews for Lowe's and Home Depot made me think otherwise. We ended up choosing Index fencing and they did a fantastic job. They communicated with us and let us understand exactly what they would be doing for the job and how they would do it. We had special request and the owner made sure to take care of that for us. They did a wonderful job cleaning up and picking up the nails that fell on the ground. I am really glad we used Index fencing. read more

We love our new fence. Company was great to work with and had excellent attention to detail. Would highly recommend.
