I met with the salesperson who was very knowledgeable and…read morefriendly, and I thought that it was great that they would deal with the HOA stuff for me, and there was a warranty on the fence for both product and craftsmanship. However, I was told it'd be "around 3 weeks." I needed a new fence asap for safety reasons, etc. I got the money for the down payment and would have sent it immediately, but you are either charged 3% extra if you use a credit card (understandable), or you have to pay in cash or check. As I just moved here, I didn't have checks from the new bank yet and so that delayed me getting the down payment to them, but he told me he understood the situation and would put my name on the board so I would be in the lineup. I got the checks 5 days later; the person didn't respond for another 5 days and it was another 4 days before they came to pick up the check. Later on, I was blamed for the timing on when the downpayment was received. I was still assured that I was on the board and ready to go. Communication was nonexistent. 4 weeks went by and I was reaching out and not getting any response about what date I was scheduled for. I was given condescending replies when I did get an answer and it was a constant fight to get answers. I was given excuse after excuse after excuse. Waiting for materials, rain, guys got heat stroke, etc. After 7 weeks of waiting and I was STILL NOT given an exact date but had now 3 times been given an "around this week" with no one coming or information on anything but simply excuses when I asked what was happening, I gave up and requested a refund of my down payment (for which I then had to demand 3 times and wait for the return of the check), and I went with a different fencer altogether. It was awful and terrible communication. They did not once give me a date still after 7 weeks of waiting. No apologies for poor service, poor communication, or anything. They additionally lied about the warranty, because when I asked about land settling they said it was covered by the craftsmanship warranty and they'd fix it if it was a problem (one of the reasons I had originally decided to go with them because they acknowledged that it could happen in new construction homes). But, then they said later on that that was not covered in the craftsmanship warranty. It was an absolutely terrible experience and I have now found out that I'm not the only one. Stay away.

We requested that the team put up the fence ahead of schedule so that our pup would have some time to enjoy the backyard all to herself. They made it happen and our dog passed a few short months later. We are forever grateful to RFB for making it happen. The fence is beautiful and well constructed. Fast forward 2.5 years later and we had one hinge start to come loose on our 10ft swinging gate. I reached out to Brady for an opinion on how to remedy the issue. Not only did he give me his thoughts, the crew was back out here within days and took care of the hinge with a super permanent solution. Best part, they did not charge another dime. Fortress recently decided to start installing commercial fences only. Okay, fine. But they made…read morethat call after coming to my home three times for info-gathering sessions in preparation for drafting a quote. Why three times? Because they didn't tell me what I needed to do to prepare in advance for their visits. The first time, they said they needed the site survey. Okay, the second time I had that available. But then they said they needed all of the corners marked by a survey company. So I hired a survey company for $250 to mark the corners. And then they came a third time, gave me a quote that didn't reflect the borders I'd requested, and when I tried to correct it, they dropped my job entirely in exchange for commercial business. Meanwhile, my neighbor had a plan with Fortress for installation, though they hadn't signed a contract yet. They dropped her job, too, in favor of commercial business... and never actually told her. I had to tell her myself! I called the owner of the company to complain and left a voicemail, and never heard anything back. What terrible customer service. I guess in hindsight, I'm glad to give my business to a different fencing company - to one that actually cares about how they treat people.
