Dual spring replacement should cost around $400-$500. It's unfortunate to learn there are other scammers out there charging $1000+ for these services with fake warranties to grandmas. I got bids on Yelp with people charging the the most, with the most reviews, and have the least valuable services if you look deep enough. It's good to replace both springs and potentially end plate bearings each time. Door Dummies will be honest if you need those replaced. Average spring life is about 7-10 years. It's worth contacting Door Dummies to check these out if you are in that age range. Getting stuck in your garage when they snap is dangerous. I called him and explained the issue, and he was completely dismissive, saying that he only works for the customer and it's too bad if the rest of us (over 100 cars per day) can't see around the corner. I had to follow up with the city, who determined that the fence was not built according to the permit. American Heritage still hasn't addressed the issue, but when they do, I'm curious whether they will do so at their own expense or whether they'll charge the neighbors extra to move the fence. Either way, I would never hire this company to build a fence for me.
